- Hi Beth and everyone else
I too have been driving round in Walderton from East Marden via Stoughton but do agree Penny is most likely to go back to where she last had contact with you her owner Beth
Water is VITAL as there is just nothing round here at all and we all so want to help find this dog.
Can you get back to us Beth about latest update please ? Annie - 2014-07-02 17:12 Ratel
- Indeed, best case scenario!

- Steve said it is possible that he just missed that poster. But fingers crossed that she has been found and they've taken the poster down.
- 2014-07-02 16:20 Ratel
- That's odd, Linda, as there definitely WAS a poster up at Stoughton carpark. She hasn't been found and we just haven't been told, has she?
- 2014-07-02 14:58 Linda Tanner
- Hi everyone. I have just come back from waling my dogs from Stoughton through the woods to Inholmes. On the way back I drove through Stoughton, checked Stoughton Down car park, through Walderton Village and then Watergate and Lye Common. No sign of her. There isn't any water to be had anywhere, so it is really important to put some down where she was lost and where the owner's car was parked. Didn't see any posters up anywhere!

- Steve's just gone up to search the Stoughton area with our beagles. Really need to know precisely where she was lost and if she was driven by car, where the car was parked. These are two of the most likely places that she'll re-visit, perhaps staying just out of view as she'll be very frightened by now. Make sure plenty of water is left at these places as there are not many puddles left now.

- Beth .... I mailed people in Stoughton last night .... village along from Walderton and was told the loss of Penny is well known there so people are in the know a good deal. Can you tell us where you actually lost her ?
Annie - 2014-07-01 21:25 AlisonH
- Email sent with general advice, triangular plotting and scenting instructions.

- Beth .... Annie here ... I echo all Linda has just said .... the scent trail idea worked a few months ago at Stoughton Down which is very near Walderton. The Admin person gave precise instructions about putting an owners hat and food where they had last seen the dog ie at that carpark and the dog came back to that. I gather dogs tend to go off on a triangular basis from where they last saw you and return to that place again so Linda's request about where you lost her PRECISELY would help us all. I have driven through Walderton twice today but it is a very rural area with many possibilities. Have you reported to the Chichester Dog Warden who is called John ? and posted LOTS of posters ?? Please give us more info and try to get contact with the Admin person.

- Hi, DogLost Admin should be able to e-mail a copy of their scent trail advice and it's got useful info re what a typical lost dog will do, including that it'll probably be frightened of everyone approaching it. Laying a scent trail worked for us to find Megan (lost for 3 days at Adsean 2 years ago). It's mixing up a potion of "home smells" that they'll know, including contents of your vacuum cleaner bag and a little bit of your wee in a solution that you can spread in a triangle between place lost and sightings. They'll also tell you how and where to leave a "safe place" with food and water, in case it's a longer wait for her to be found. Any information you can share on precisely where she was lost, if you drove up there where your car was and whether it's a regular walk or you live locally will help everyone to search more efficiently. As soon as we know more about the location, Steve will go up there and help look. Don't lose heart - she will be found.

- Beth ... I have emailed a fair few and asked them to pass on to others in the Walderton / Watergate patch and just spoke to the pub there and they know but told them still an active case
Lets hope and pray she surfaces ... have the experts advised a scent trail ? - 2014-06-30 19:31 Annie Judd
- Hello Beth and all
I am just up the road from Walderton and will e mail locals to ask them to keep eye open .. unless another has done this
SO sorry about this Beth ... horrendous situation. Please update us if Penn is found
Annie - 2014-06-30 18:19 Ratel
- Went all round there very early this morning. As ever, we just need a sighting ......

- Hello, I saw Penny on Friday, I got out of my car but she ran straight off, I followed her for a bit but lost her, I assumed her owner was nearby and she had gone back to them. It's probably no help now but she was going along New Lane, towards the road up to Watergate - I really hope you find her. I saw the poster in the H&H last night, a friend of mine also saw her in Walderton on Saturday, he also tried to catch her but she ran off - obviously a bit nervous of strangers. I live nearby so I will keep my eyes peeled for her
- 2014-06-29 23:24 Pnki
- Will ask family at Watergate House to look out for her, they too have a JRT. Just driven round all near Kingley Vale , no sign x
- 2014-06-29 21:23 AlisonH
- Email sent in to admin
I am concerned that Penny could have roamed toward either Watergate (House) across fields west of Walderton or towards Stansted House to the southwest.
I live off Cooks Lane Walderton and must have just missed seeing Penny as I met her owner whilst walking my own JRT, if no notices have been posted at the two locations mentioned I will try and get over there to post some.
Do hope Penny is found soon.

- We live in rowlands castle, still no sign :( keep searching daily and put posters up etc
- 2014-06-29 19:44 Annie Judd
- I live near the area ... can the owner update us about progress ?
- 2014-06-29 18:07 Ratel
- Assuming she doesn't live locally, where was the car parked? Is this a regular walk? The area would have been well populated today.
