Mutts in distress site has several GSD's for re-homing and you can look back at pictures of dogs already re-homed. Covers mainly the Essex/Hertfordshire border but worth looking at. Good luck.....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just thought you may like to know that the travellers site where the lurcher was recovered is under the 'control' of south beds council, who have an environmental team who are supposed to be permanently mobile with a dedicated team for this type of thing ie trouble with travellers, suggest you call them on 01582 472222 and try to speak to a guy called Martin (who used to be a copper) in Environmental services who is over seeing all types of environmental issues - surely dog napping is anti social at least! Good luck hope he is recovered soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just had a word with a friend of the owner of Zack, she has informed me that there were two lads who were doing some gardening work close to where Zack went missing from. The friend has done some digging around and has found out that these lads were from the Grove Hill area. Is there anyone local to this who would be able to put posters up in the area on behalf of the owner? It would be much appreciated.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi all, I have been out and about the last couple of days asking around some of the more wayward friends in the area nothing to heavy just general asking. The information i have is that the local society for the abduction of dogs (and we know who they are) may well have Zack but as yet a direct link to a certain address has not been forth coming but, it is likely to be an address we have had the boys in blue visit before. --- sorry i have not been posting but working long hours and not any time to go looking...... So sorry about Zack, when I walked my dogs along the tow path he was always there barking and guarding his piece of territory alongside the canal. A friend of mine has been to see Barny and apparently Zack disappeared early one morning and the general feeling is that itinerants are responsible. Glad to see that Ian is on the case what an angel he was to go and see Barny. Good to see the police rescued Gypsy the lurcher hope they can do the same for Zack.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has anyone had a drive past the travellers site where Gypsy, the stolen Lurcher was found a couple of days back? From A5 going towards St. Albans it is on the right hand side after the second round about, if you pass a garage or the thatched pub. you have gone too far. Chin up Barney, we're all sending you love and positive vibesXXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I CAN LOG IN --- on it -- thanks for the great praise Tash, now if i can get my head out the door i can go looking. I will phone Jackie - Ann as she walks the tow path every morning and evening with her dogs, as soon as there is a pic i will have to go on a pub crawl (shame) and issue the local Inns with Zack`s poster, only one problem which way to go -- did Zack go toward Watford or Tring ? I will phone the owners friend and find out and if Barny is available then i will meet up with him to advise. Jayne please phone me. ...... IAN Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just spoken to Ian about this one on his doorstep. For some reason he is unable to log on but will use my log in. DOG ON A MISSION, if you pm my me with your number I can let him know so you can meet up if necessary. Such sad circumstances. Some people get everything at once. So stressful. Poor Barney and owner. If he escaped from a barge does this mean he could have fallen in the water? I take it there must be places he can get out of the canal if he fell in - have these places been checked? I hope he is found very soon!
