Posters now up in Hampstead Norreys. Hope we hear something soon.

I went back to Hampstead Norreys again this afternoon and walked my dog around Beech Wood and the surrounding area. I discovered the old Hampstead Norreys RAF Station up on the plateau. There are so many places that a dog could hide out in up there. There are 5 pillboxes and 3 bomb shelters, as well as numerous old aircraft and farm buildings - all derelict. There are too many to search. But also it now belongs to the nearby Haw Farm, so it meant that I was trespassing. I did peek in a few of the more accessible buildings, but didn't see any sign of Midi or any other animal for that matter.

Is anyone else searching for this dog? If there is, perhaps we could combine our efforts? Please let me know. Anyway, I will try and get some posters up tomorrow around the village.

I had a walk with my dog south of Hampstead Norreys yesterday afternoon in Park Wood, Down Wood and Westbrook Copse and the fields towards Eling, but I saw nothing. I did find an old shed in the woods but there was no sign that anything had tried to make it into a den. I also dropped onto the local community shop in the centre of the village and they have agreed to put up some posters and I will put one on the bus shelter. Nobody I spoke to was aware that there was a dog missing in area. It is such a shame. I probably won't be able to do the posters today, but I should be able to go back tomorrow (assuming my internet isn't still playing up).

If there is a dog found that is similar, it could be mine. I tried the link but it isn't working. Can you please let me know if there is another way to see please? Thanks.
Clair
Is this dog now found?
Sarah
There is one found but not in the same area - face looks similar but I can't tell body'wise. From the Facebook page Nottingham City Stray Dogs - https://www.facebook.com/NottinghamStrayDogs/photos/a.157107017824388.1073741830.132280670307023/247502182118204/?type=1&theater SORRY, just realised that if your actually went missing on the 4th it can't be this one as this one was found on the 1st.Last edited: 2014-05-08 17:22:15 by Sarah

Hi
have you viewed 68183 thought it might be your dog
Clair
I really hope you find your dog quickly. We are currently trying to find our almost identical dog to yours who went missing in August in RG8. She has been seen many times since then. As they look so similar we may get calls for each other's dogs, so please let me know if you hear about any similar dogs that aren't yours. I will of course do the same for you. Many thanks and I hope she is home now.
PS. Do you have any other photos?

Sorry to see that MIDI is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (68405)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
