Fi So pleased you have Dinah back; she is cute. If you think thia lady has Tilly, I would ask her how she came to have the resembling Tilly? Did she pick her up thinking she was a stray? Then I would ask her if she wouldn`t mind you having her checked for a microchip just in case? You should be able to tell by her reaction if she is telling the truth. Failing that I would seek advice from the police, because if it is Tilly then it is theft. If, and when you phone the police ask for the Officer in Charge for advice. Keep us posted, and good luckx

Thank you so much for your words and advice - we are all devastated! I wonder if anyone on this site could advise us - in the course of looking for Dinah we are very certain that we spotted a cat (Tilly) that my housemate lost last year - she is a very distinctive cat - it is just at the back of my house where Dinah disappeared from - and from where she never ventured far - unfortunately it is in a 3rd floor walk up flat - the cat was on this tiny balcony! We gained entrance to the flats and knocked at the door - the woman behaved very oddly barely opening the door - we showed her photos of Dinah and asked if she'd seen her but she denied it - she then said she had 4 cats of her own but they are house cats - at this point we haven't confronted her about the other cat but do intend to do so - I have a gut feeling that she may have Dinah as we're fairly certain she has Tilly- has anyone any suggestions as to what we do next ? Both cats are microchipped so proof of ownership would not be a problem !

She is spayed, so probably not far away. It could be that someone thinks she is a stray, and has taken her in: early days yet. Try putting some sardines on her food dish, and tap it while you call her. Put something with her scent on, and leave in the garden; iut could be her blanket, and you could leave a toy too, that she likes to play with (Being a kitten). I would put something in with your scent on too. Good luckx
