Maybe if she only had a very small litter (two or three puppies)...and they would be five or so weeks old, then would it show? When I bred a litter of whippets you could hardly tell she'd had pups by the time they were five weeks and she had seven puppies, she'd been well fed throughout, she was plump and the milk had almost gone.

Oh this the most fabulous news....in time Justice will prevail and Elkie's babies will be found ...everyone will do their part to use Facebook and Twitter to find these babies ....how old will they be now to assist us all?

She was handed in to the Coventry dog warden by someone saying they had found her ! What was strange owner told me , was that a bitch that had whelped recently would still be showing signs of having fed the puppies and Elkie doesn't ! Owners are thrilled to get her back and she is thrilled to be back

Report: "Wonderful news that the in whelp Blue & Tan Dobe lost Oldbury, Birmingham in May has been found and reunited with her owners...unfortunately no sign of puppies, people are keeping eyes and ears open, if I hear anything further I'll update everyone. I'm sure it must be a relief for her owner."

she is still missing ive just rang owner as there has been one found in coventry looks like recently had pups x post is on coventry dog warden page x the owners have looked at pic and think it is her they areon way to coventry dog warden to check x

would it be a good idea to do a mass email circulation to all vets within a 30 mile radius , or more to ask them to watch out for Elkie?She will need a c- section so someone may have taken her to one.

I agree with Owl, she may be trying to nest somewhere i suppose you have checked for holes under sheds etc because if she is nesting she wont come out when you call her...good luck too far for me to help but hope she gets back safe soon x

Elkie went missing from garden whilst owners were out. Owner suspects stolen. He has been reading your advice sheets Alison and has been contacting all vets in Birmingham. He is getting posters done, and Ive suggested a mention on local radio station and papers in the Birmingham area.The dogis chipped to an original owner. Ive told him he must sort this ASAP. This dog needs to be found and fast. Ive told him to check and advertise on sites, as preloved Gumtree etc and make people aware .

Please remember that pregnant bitches can sometimes wander off and den up in extraordinary places. We have had a few like this on site. So it is important to search any local woodland or anywhere with nooks and crannies.
