still no news :-(
Its so sad to give up but with no more sightings. Maybe someone has taken him in and he is happy. Its also heartbreaking for the owners not knowing what's happened to their boy.
Abe babe
Oh dear, let's hope it's not.
I'm going that way today so if you have details where 'it' is I will take a look. I'll be leaving by 9.30am and back that way again around 1.30pm.... if you have details by then Bojangles please call or text me on 07826101590.
Bojangles
No more sightings from the wood area. Another friend has seen something that may be a dog sadly at the side of the road in the glemsford area 😢. I have messaged her to see if 'it' is still there. At least we would know.
Abe babe
Thanks Bojangles, if there's another sighting I would love to be part of a search party (even if it's only two!)... I think of him every day.
Bojangles
Abe - my friend lives near the wood where he was spotted early March. I have asked her if more sightings and am waiting to hear though I am sure you would have told me had she seen him. Will report back.
Abe babe
I'd like to go and spend a whole day in the area, walking around, speaking to folk and such... but where to start? There's always the problem of private land/trespass and having spoken to local residents there are some landowners who are very anti wood walkers etc. His last sighting was near woods where that problem exists.
It's so difficult without a sighting to start from.
Has anyone heard anything from the owners?
I'm not able to go that way at the moment (I'm busy with hospital visits to my father) but hope to get a day soon... if anyone fancies joining me for several hours walking I'd love the company.
Bojangles
Still thinking about little Bertie.... Its worrying that there have been no more sightings. Its good to know that Abe babe keeps an eye out for him.

Featured in this weeks Countrymans Weekly Magazine - I hope it brings some news
Abe babe
....sadly, he didn't. :o(
Abe babe
Still thinking of you little man... I'll drive home your way today again, so it would be very useful if you'd show yourself! x
Abe babe
Me too Bojangles, I want to go and look but without a sighting..?
At least he has fair weather for his adventure and hopefully has found a snug place for the chilly nights.
Bojangles
I am worried that there have been no recent sightings. Poor Bertie. We have to hope he is having too much fun.

Thank you Abe babe and Bojangles x
Abe babe
Came home via a drive around Stanstead, Boxted and Glemsford....
:o(
You could drive around 24/7 and not see him...come on Bertie, show yourself again. x
Bojangles
Searched yesterday 9/3. Saw lots of Bertie posters but sadly not the main man. I heard terrier barking and was hopeful but I think the barks were from some border terriers living near cranmore green. Disappointed. Stay safe Bertie. x
Abe babe
I'm out this direction today so will come home via Bertie's area in afternoon and do some more searching.
Abe babe
Just got back from searching area of sighting..nothing. Met a lovely Stanstead lady who walked the footpaths with me around/near the woods, hopefully she will join DL - she even walks with a lead in her pocket in case!...excellent, nice to meet you 'M'.
B1066 is not a park-up friendly road, many blind bends but found a couple of places to park and watch the river and woods.
Need another sighting, but at least he seems not far from home..?
Abe babe
I'll go and have a look around there today.
Bojangles
Sadly no more news. My friends took treats and dogs but no more sightings. We won't give up on you Bertie. xxx

Bumped due to this sighting of Bertie, hopefully he will be home very soon x

Abe babe
looks like he's not far from home if heading north from the woods near B1066 ? ...and I drove along there this afternoon!...
come on little man...xLast edited: 2014-03-07 17:08:48 by Abe babe

Update form my friend who owns Brookfield Kennels. A little black dog matching Bertie's description was in their field (at the turn off to Glemsford from Stanstead). They called him but he ran across the road. A motorbike braked to avoid him. He then ran into Scotchford woods. They are going to go and search for him with a bitch terrier and delicious food in the hopes of enticing him to be caught. They contacted owners. Come on Bertie we are all worried about you.
Abe babe
Came home via the locality again today and I have to say between us we've drenched the area in posters ... well done people.
Cherry Lane Garden Centre in Long Melford were very keen to put up posters as were Glemsford Farm Shop...thank you both.
Fingers crossed for another sighting, meantime stay safe Bertie x

Thank you for offering to help Abe babe, you are probably best to contact the owner direct to find out what areas need to be covered.
Abe babe
Where is home for Bertie?.. just so I know what direction he might be heading in....
Abe babe

I will try and go out that way tomorrow.
Have any posters gone up and if so where?...
