- PS It could be that someone else is feeding him. And he thinks he has been adopted. It happened to a neighbour: now reunited. Stephano is a handsome cat I must say.

- Good that he is neutered, so probably not too far away. Try warming up some chicken, say, as this may tempt his taste buds. Also put some pilchards on his food dish, and whilst calling him, keep tapping it. Take DL advice, and put small "Lost" posters through as many doors as you can. Also put something with his scent on, place in a container, and if dry leave in the garden. Put something with your scent on too. Cats rely so much on scent. As he is neutered he may not be too far from home, as they normally have a smaller territory, unlike tom cats who are intact. Good luck. Keep us posted.

- Is there any particular reason why you think this cat might have wandered 10 miles from Leatherhead to RH5 postcodes? Is that where he used to live or something?
