If only stan could talk, i can only imagine what hes been through the past year, I hope stan is making a good recovery with his mum and dad, would be nice to see a reunited photo, much love stan xx

Well done the couple who rescued Stan. Not only did you save his life but you acted responsibly by ensuring that the people who could check out those claiming him were contacted to do that. I hope that his family have many happy years with him and am sure that they are truly grateful for your actions.

I find it deeply disturbing that there are individuals that swear it is their dog and are in a hurry to collect it and get away. Just goes to show that you have to be so careful. I too was taken in by it on FB and it shook me to the core. Hope Stan gets well soon x

Glan Stan is back with his owners. Hope he makes a full recovery after his ordeal. Would be nice if you could let us know how he is doing in the next few weeks. I can't believe people will try to claim a dog which isn't theirs.
Spottylove
Rachel, I think Jan is giving an example of how people claim dogs that aren't rightfully theirs. I clicked on the link below, and Lennox is a Staffie who went missing and was claimed by someone who wasn't his owner. Then thankfully reunited :)

Wow! So lucky that Stan was found by such a lovely couple and that they were responsible enough to take the correct actions to make sure he was reunited with his rightful owners. This is from their Fbk page:
"You can imagine, finding this dog has been a very difficult yet rewarding experience. We literally have had thousands of calls, texts and messages declaring ownership for the dog....
AVDC dog warden intervened....through "Dog lost" possible owners were found....my husband and I felt that it was best to hand the responsibility to the Dog warden...we have been told...
last night the dog warden was provided unquestionable evidence of ownership by the rightful owners of Stan who had been missing for exactly a year.....the dog warden confirmed that this dog had been out for a considerable time, and and was not a recent stray....The dog was malnourished, had mange, and muscle wastage and our priority was to get the dog medical attention.
We have only been told that "Stan" is with his legal owners and we know no more than this!
It was not our job to decide on who he belonged to,so we left it firmly with the Dog warden.
If you ever find yourself in a similar situation...I strongly recommend you go to the dog warden
We have since made contact with bedfordshire police and Thames valley police to provide all the information we have.
It's been truly heartbreaking to receive so many messages from people adamant that this was their dog...we were trying to do our very best for an animal that was very poorly....once again we would like to thank everyone for your support love and care for "Stan"
If anyone has any further questions we urge you to contact Bedfordshire police or the Dog warden"
Well done to them and I hope that Stan eventually makes a full recovery now that he is back home with his family.

Amazing news, so good to hear this lovely boy i sback home. And, a lesson to all of us to be on the lookout for people claiming dogs as their own when they are not. You did fantastically well, finders, helpers and DW. Welcome home sweet Stan. xxxx

Stan was reunited via the AVDC Dog Warden who have stated "Seizing of the dog from the finder was aborted on sight as the rightful owners had arrived with paperwork and photographs to prove ownership of the dog".

Albert is a lovely older chap who came into our care when his previous owner could no longer look after him.

He enjoys going for walks and having a gentle play with toys.

Albert is okay with the dogs he has met at the centre but we don't know how he would get on with other pets.

His hearing is not very good but this doesn't seem to cause him any problems.

If you think you can offer Albert the home he is looking for please contact the centre for more details.

If you are interested in rehoming Albert, you can download and complete a pre-homing questionnaire if you wish and bring it with you when visiting the centre.

Before considering rehoming an animal, please read our rehoming conditions.
