UPDATE: I just spoke to Wandsworth dog warden and the owner of this lovely dog has come forward and I have been told he will be reunited with owners very soon.

The green belt in the photo was not on him at the time. That is my belt which my friend used to make a collar and lead.

I have put the phone number for Wandsworth Council so you need to ask for the dog warden. Dog Warden who attended is called Tony. This dog had been sighted about 3pm near the children's play area on the common. http://goo.gl/maps/jODK8 google map reference. He was spooked and ran off. My friend who owns a local pet shop called me as she knew I had the dog warden's number. When we got there he had gone. We followed a trail and he had run down an alley to the road. When we go there he had been tied with a piece of string to the lamppost. Very grateful to this person as he would have ended up in the busy road. The person had called the police but had left the scene. We had some dog sausages with us so my friend approached him at which point the string broke. She then used my belt to make a collar and lead and we secured him. Shortly after that the dog warden arrived and scanned him with the Halo Scanner. He has taken him and he said he will report to Battersea however they will take him to kennels outside of London so if this is your dog please call the Wandsworth dog warden.
