PS: Dogwalker thanks for tip. I've now registered her with Battersea too.

Thanks Alex. I've spoken to Richmond Council again and apparently the PLA weren't going to collect until the following morning as the light had gone. They were expecting high tide that evening so now unsure as to whether she was swept away again. I, along with APDW, will follow up microchipping procedures with both Richmond Council and the PLA. It's not right the dogs aren't scanned, especially as microchipping becomes compulsory this year. 😢

Sorry Jelly tots only just seen your post, been chasing up various avenues in search for Lily. I spoke to PLA today regarding Lily before I saw this or I would have enquired, the Marine Department were very helpful. They told me they don't have scanners so can't look for chips and rely on the collection agency. but did say they do keep a log of what animals are found but not to much detail. Such a shame.

Hello there,Just had a thought, has anyone contacted the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home Lost and Found department at Old Windsor, which is close by the Thames,in case the dog went missing from further upstream,or the London Battersea branch,in case anyone is missing a similar dog.Misty sounds a nice name,Bless her.

I found this dog. I can assure you Alex, it was not Lily. Everybody I talk to seems to be looking for Lily. We are all praying for her safe return.
Thank you for posting this, I am new to doglost and was unsure what to do. I have some pictures too but I didn't want to post them as they are quite distressing. I have trawled through doglost and cannot find a match either.
When I found her, I alerted Richmond Council who then asked the PLA to collect. I believe since chatting to Thames Young Mariners that she is a bitch, not a dog. He said the RNLI found her and pulled her out the day before, so Wednesday 8th January 2014. They then received an emergency call and had to leave. I believe the black rope lead MAY have belonged to the RNLI. They asked the RSPCA to collect. I spotted her the next day (9th). Her collar was BLACK leather, shaped like a greyhound collar (thin and then thick). It was in good condition and there was also a ring where her ID tag would have been but was missing. I have chased to see if she was scanned for a microchip but I am still awaiting a reply as nobody can find her, now she’s been collected. Alex do you know if the PLA have her? Richmond Council seem to think so, but PLA don’t have any records?!?

PS: She seemed all black. I couldn’t roll her over so I couldn’t see her underside. She seemed around 30KG?? There were no visible white marks, so I DON’T think it was dog ID 62710. I think Misty is a good rainbow bridge name.
