- Pleased Gilbert has been rehomed to someone who will take care of him properly. They do make lovely pets but, as with all animals, a lot of responsibility goes with ownership. Enjoy your new life Gilbert - happy rooting! XX

- you also need a holding number to keep them, can Animal health not trace the owners by his tag number as this should have been transferred when he was sold ? Hes VERY cute !

- Yep - you need a licence to keep pigs as you do other common livestock. So therefore you need a licence if you are either a buyer or seller.

- Helper Rachel has located the owner - or rather the former owner - and the little pig is called Gilbert. Gilbert was sold in September to people who appear to have 'lost' him. Somebody is suggesting that you need a licence to sell a Kune Kune. Anybody know about that ?

- Someone claiming to be his owner has turned up on Facebook.

- I know someone who has 2 of these...I think in West Midlands.May take it on if no owner found.

- sounds silly but has it been scanned for a chip? Pigs aren't routinely chipped as far as I'm aware but it might be worth giving it a scan (including the ears) just in case-AHO officers may already have done this but never assume anything! I wonder if it's a 'micro-pig' that turned out to be less than micro?

- Thanks, Badger. Who's lost a Kune Kune, then ?
- 2014-01-05 12:13 Badger
- This little piggy looks like a Kune Kune - they are usually quite hairy and have a toggle/tassel either side their face like a goat but not clear to see in picture. They are often kept as pets and are a joy to own. Hope he finds his way home soon or gets a nice new home. XX
