- This is such a regular occurance now, dogs being taken to kennels at weekends or holiday time and despite being clearly tagged and/or chipped, these people make no effort to contact distraught owners until the working day begins. I think it is quite heartless. Glad they are now home.

- Concerned about this case being so similar to the previous one I called the owner. It seems the dogs were picked up over Christmas , owner could not find out where they had been taken as the offices were closed so poor dogs spent 4 days in the kennels even though one had a tag with details on.
It also turns out that this was a duplicate post, owner's sister had registered Drum and Bayliss, so when she let me know they had been found I moved them to reunited. - 2014-01-02 17:24 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- This is the second time in a week that this has happened in the North Dorset area, the last was a very elderly dog from Shillingstone. It is against the law for a dog to be on a public highway off the lead and if it happens regularly then that is why they will be taken to the kennels as a deterrent for the owner to allow them to wander. It could have cost the owner a lot more if they had caused an accident.

- Phoned owner and he has the dogs back.
They were found near his house but handed in to council kennels, even though one had a tag on with phone numbers and they were chipped!
Owner sadly had to pay a large bill to the council to get his dogs back.
