Good luck in your new home gorgeous Sam & thank you Nickhoneys for giving Sam a new home, a new start & a completely new & happy life xxx
Paula Griffin's Mum
Aw thanks Nickhoneys, loving all dogs but having our own springer Griffin we have a HUGE soft spot for springers & when we saw Sam & read his story we followed his progress from a distance, I can't tell you how pleased we are that he's fallen firmly on all four paws, wishing you all a fab springer hectic life together, Paula, Lee & Griffin xxx
Lorna
Sounds like Sam's landed on his feet.
Thanks for the update and here's to many happy years together.
Nickhoneys
Hi all I am lucky enough to be Sams new mum xx I saw him on this website when he was listed and fell a little bit in love. So when he came up for rehoming what could I do ?? xx We collected him sat lunchtime and he has made himself more than welcome . The look on his pretty face when he can sit withyouon the sofa is priceless. He is a typical mad springer, he has 2 big brother springers to show him how things are done. Thank you to doglost for listing all these dogs and the biggest thanks in the world to pawprints, Anita and all the lovely people I have talked to and facebooked but not met for looking after him as well as you did and for choosing our family to be his new family. I will never be able to thank youe enough xxx There are some photos of him on pawprints if any one would like to see him now as you would hardly recognise him from the sad pictures above.

I have pleasure in moving Sam from Found into Reunited as he has now gone to his forever home with a lovely lady and new doggy friends.
Thank you JD for keeping us updated on his progress.
Wishing you all the happiness in the world Sam.
Pawprints Dog RescueJD
Sam has finally been signed off from the vet after a slight infection post-op and has today gone to his forever home. Thank you for everyone who supported Sam through the past few months, a big change from the nasty, terrified, underweight, mange infested dog. Instead he is a bouncy, healthy, happy (if a little nuts!) proper Springer Spaniel. Good luck Sam, don't be a stranger xx
Pawprints Dog RescueJD
Delighted to confirm that Sam is going to his new owner imminently (after neuter/post op check) with a lady who has followed his story on doglost from the beginning :) Not only is doglost a fab resource for missing/found dogs they are now responsible for finding loving homes! xx
Shereen
Lovely news x
Pawprints Dog RescueJD
Sam has improved hugely. He is no longer the terrified little man he was and is now showing all the signs of being a typical, young, springer!! He is still receiving treatment but he is no longer scratching himself to bits. He is reserved to the lady who helped us catch him and who is also his namesake! More info can be seen on our fb page so we don't keep bumping up this thread xx facebook.com/groups/168208779917045/ Happy New Year everyone x
collieowner
Still no news? Would love to hear he is ok.

Could I please remind everyone that sadly dog theft occurs in all communities and all cultures. It is not for DogLost (or its members) to point the finger at specific groups of people - our role is to help reunite missing dogs with their owners and to highlight the growing problem.

Sam has served his seven days in pound and will be looking for a new home in the New Year x

I appreciate emotions are running high over this dog. However, This page is only to try to find where this dog originally came from and not to be used as a discussion board. Roger you are a legend , I wish all people were like you , xxx
Pointerlover
Roger it doesn't matter if you live in a house or on wheels you sound like a good guy for feeling the way you do about the way to treat animals. It is also fantastic that you have reunited lost dogs with their owners. More people should be like you whether they live on wheels or in houses.
roger francis
Im not disputing it was travellers who abandoned him, my point is simply that house dwellers also do similar things and statistically more often, due to the laws of mathematics, because far more people live in houses than caravans, I haven't lived in a house for nearly 30 yrs and have no desire to do so either, but would never abandon an animal and in fact I have managed to reunite several dogs I have found straying back to their owners.
BBKM
In this case, Travellers were seen abandoning this poor dog, and the neglect and abuse he has suffered is shocking. I hope he can either be reunited with his owner if he is a stolen dog, if not I am certain he will get a fabulous new home and with time he will be able to enjoy life the way a Springer Spaniel should.
roger francis
@digsbysmum. thankyou for your support in the fight against unacceptable racism, I wish more were like you. x

Thank you for your interesting comments roger francis, and for setting the record straight. Not all travellers are tarred with the same brush!
roger francis
I am a traveller. and I have a rescue Springer, have had him for 5 yrs now, tho im not an Irish traveller or a pikey as the cowardly posters would like to say, im sure that a lot of house dwellers also abandon and abuse animals as well, so shall we cut the anti traveller commentout please?I sincerely hope his owner's are found and he makes it home again, so I reitterate my original point that not all travellers are bad or messy, I certainly am not and nor are most of my friends, and house dwellers are certainly not all good either, so we will have less of the villiflying of people who simply choose a different lifestyle or is racism to minorities acceptable because their homes have wheels? Wise up people.Last edited: 2013-12-13 00:42:29 by roger francis

Somebody posted on facebook that they lost their dog when they got caught up in a pheasant shoot he/she ran off. Somebody spotted the dog near the main road in crick and was making a call about the dog when a van pulled up took the dog and said thanks for finding our dog, suspected travellers. I am so frustrated as I cannot find the post on facebook now.

If this lovely springer needs a new home we will gladly take him on, we have had springers and cockers in the past, we live in a rural setting with a large secure garden,we(myself and 2 sons 13,9) are used to boisterous dogs who need a lot of exercise, training and love.
Pawprints Dog RescueJD
Not Wogan I am afraid x Also does not respond to Conker or Copper, in fact he doesn't respond to any names or commands at all.

This dog is definitely under a year old vets say. There are loads more photos of Sam available on our fb page if anybody needs to compare. He is improving daily and now wags his tail at humans - he is on antibiotics and 3 day apart baths in malaseb (plus smothering of sudocrem). He is back at vets on Wednesday for skin scrapes so we can treat the mange better. It has taken us three days to be able to handle him as he was so fearful. Small steps! Our website is currently down for upgrading but should be back to full working order in next 48 hours, in the meantime - https://www.facebook.com/groups/168208779917045 - is our fb page x

Could he be one of the pups stolen in 2011 ref 32204? Sorry...see someone already thought of that! Just thought he might look younger if he hadn't been looked after... Takes a while for mange to get that bad ...I think?Last edited: 2013-12-08 13:58:25 by SandyW

Yes he is at Pawprints. If you have access to their Facebook page you will see pictures of him having his first bath!

Ellie
Have added him to DogLost Northamptonshire Facebook in the hope someone knows him
Pawprints Dog RescueJD
Less than one year old. Serious skin condition and possible mange. Vets have him on antibiotics and when he is feeling a little better, skin scrapes will be carried out. Exhausted, underweight and very nervous. Last edited: 2013-12-07 10:04:53 by JD
