Please check out this dog

Please share!
A black and white shih tzu/lhasa apso type female dog has been found wandering the lanes near Treuddyn. She was very dishevelled and muddy, very frightened (hence the pic not being great, I didn’t want to stress her out too much) but friendly once caught.
She’s in the care of Cae Hic Riding Centre, who will look after her amazingly until the owner is found.
If you know of anyone who has lost a dog like this please let the riding school know 💔Last edited: 2019-04-07 23:30:25 by Lesley

Thank you Max and everyone for double checking, sorry I didn't respond earlier but nursing my very sick dog.
Our local RSPCA is so good but sometimes micro chips slip.
I do hope Jaspers owners eventually have an answer as they sound such lovely people and I would need to know, even if my dog had got a lovely new home.x
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
I had a response to the email from The RSPCA centre........
Many thanks for your email and I'm very sorry to hear these poor
people's dog is still missing, every loving dog-owners worst nightmare
:(

However, Noah is definitely not their dog I'm afraid as he is only
about a year old and we had him neutered.

Really sorry about that, but thanks for getting in touch. I pray they
find their Jasper very soon.

I have updated James Cocker with the info.

Have emailed RSPCA centre to see if they can help with further ID, just in case chip had failed/migrated. James is aware of action being taken

Lindy. I have sent an email to James asking for a contact number ( ones above seem to be unavailable) Perhaps he can look at photos & check. ( I have been sent an email from head office with photos)
Lindy
I have just noticed on our local holding kennels for the Dog warden Service. If you
Google-Dogotel,Hillington.
There are photo's of all the dogs that the dog warden picks up.They go to Dogotel before going to re homing if owners aren't found.
If you scroll through photo's of the strays, there is a black & white Tibetan terrier listed, found at Downham market on 9/8/2016.
It states that it is going to the local RSPCA at Eaubrink,Norfolk but it hasn't appeared in its re homing gallery yet.
Might be worth a look?

Hello all, its been a really rough few weeks for us all as my dad has sadly lost his battle with cancer. He would've loved to have seen Jasper again but unfortunately that never happened. I hope if someone has got Jasper, that they are looking after him and we hope one day we will be reunited with him. Please continue to be on the look out for our boy.
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
James, so sorry Jasper is not yet home. I really hope he can be reunited with your parents, especially as it would mean so much to your Dad.
Sending healing thoughts to you & your family.

Hi. I was the lady that called a couple of weeks ago re field opposite call gran. So sorry haven't been back in touch but my daughter was in a car crash and things took over. I've continued to go back in the field with my two, have been nearly every day, but I'm afraid I've seen nothing more. I walk up an down each morning shouting jasper just in case but nothing. I'm really sorry he's still not been found, I'll continue to keep an eye out for him. Not sure if anyone else had a look there? Xx
James Cocker
Irish dog not jasper unfortunately .We are so grateful to everyone who continues to be on the lookout for him. It's been a really tough few weeks for us all. My mum received a malicious phonecall regarding Jasper and my dad hasn't been well since early january and is now terminally ill. Jasper coming home would be so good for him right now. Please keep us posted on any sightings or found dogs.
Ruby

Phone call this evening to my mum from a lady walking her dogs in Fleetwood near Cala Gran caravan park.Walking her dogs in a field behind some houses and saw a black medium-sized dog with her dogs in the distance.couldn't make out what kind of dog and said it ran away super fast.Could it be Jasper? If anyone is in this area can you keep a look out.Apparently a man known to this lady leaves meat out for a wild cat.If it is Jasper, possible he's taking this food. She is going out again tomorrow with her dogs and will keep a look out for this dog. She phoning mum tomorrow with any news. If anyone lives in the area please can u print out his poster from Doglost and spread the word. We will go to the area to investigate over next few days.Would be amazing if it is Jasper. My dad unwell currently and finding his buddy would give him a much needed boost.
James Cocker
Thanks for continuing to look out for Jasper.Unfortunately the dog found not him.Hope you're safe jasper. We miss you and really need you right now .

Sorry it wasn't Jasper. James he will stay on my 'follow' list until he is found. I too will continue checking sites. He will be home.
James Cocker
Unfortunately the TT found is not Jasper. It has not been neutered and definitely has more white on its chest. Thankyou very much to Bob Catchpole for getting back to us so quickly. We won't give up!
James Cocker
My sister has just got in touch with Bob Catchpole who works for the animal rescue shelter in Bishops Stortford. He picked this dog up and said he's been on the go for some time. He followed a lady to her house and scratched at her door. May have too much white on his chest to be jasper but its the closest match we've had since he went missing. This dog is not wearing a collar and the microchip details i.e. owner contact phone number was non-existent. Is it possible for someone to change these details if they had taken a dog?I don't know, but we're all hoping for a miracle! Please let it be our boy!

Fingers crossed!

Looks very like bearing in mind his coat is longer. Fingers crossed.

Found ref 62208, the found TT seems to have a bit more white on chest than Jasper, but hard to tell from Jaspers photo.

So very sorry your christmas didn't bring you Jasper back home. Having a TT myself, I know how you feel not to have him home. Hoping he is back soon, I will light a candle for him.
James Cocker
Jasper is still missing. It's been a sad day for us all. If only we knew what had happened to our mischievous friend. Even just a sighting of him so we would know he is safe. We went to the lane in Staining today where he went missing in some vain hope he may be around there. We will never give up on you jasper.
James Cocker
My sister and I went out today around The Stanley park area and Lawson's road near Blackpool.Vast expanse of land round there with loads of dog walkers and paths which lead to Staining where Jasper went missing.Leaflets through doors and more posters up.Spoke to a few people who said they'd seen his picture or knew about him which is good.Keeping the awareness out there!Come on Jasper it's time to come home. Also put posters/leaflets round poulton area in the hope he may be closer than we think.

On Sunday this week we are going to have a search for jasper in the local area. If anyone could spare an hour to help us try to find him we'd be so grateful. Will will be heading out about 11am. Please message me if you can help. Thank you
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
James, I wish I could help, but sadly I live in cornwall. I do check sites all the time for him, I have a TT, so I know how lively they are!
(mine is 14 & half). I really wish you the best of luck. I will light a candle for him to find his way home xx
James Cocker
Are there any helpers locally that can help my mum + dad search for him?
James Cocker
Jasper is still missing and we have had no sightings. We contacted Lesley Anderson who feels he is still in the area and is on the move roaming over a vast area but staying within it. Jasper is very energetic and fit usually having 2-3 walks per day so we can well imagine him running and running which may be why nobody has seen him in one place for longer than a few fleeting moments. Please come home jasper or let someone see you long enough to let us know!
James Cocker
Thanks Jill. Will look into it. Actually, it did cross my mind as being an option to try.
Jill Murfin
Had you thought of using an animal communicator to try and find out some details from Jasper .................. i dont mean an address but what happened where he went or where he is now ???? Lesley Anderson has done some amazing readings for others i know with missing pets . . . . her website is here

http://www.lesleyanderson.com/index.php?f=data_spiritual_experience&a=1

just an idea but please dont dismiss it.
James Cocker
Thanks for the advice. Just a sighting of him would be amazing. But there's been nothing. I've read some great stories of dogs being reunited weeks and months after going missing. We live in hope.
Jill Murfin
Please may I politely remind you aswell about the issues with makes of scanner and the need to use a HALO scanner ???

Also remember chips can move from where they were placed in the dog . . . .and also if a dog is scanned near a metal table/object the chip does not always register.

Dog warden in Wyre is absolutely BRILLIANT and the best person in the world for the job.

I would not disregard any dog that is reported as found without a chip nor would i not check out any with the similar colour or description and of course i would be visiting the local pound a few times a week to check personally as it is common knowlegde that some dog's descriptions can be unclear and the staff dont have time to check photos of missing dogs with those taken in as found............. so the need to keep re checking is very obvious due to the 7 day ruling.Last edited: 2013-12-08 13:27:03 by Jill Murfin
DogLostMillypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer
Hi James I would hope ALL dog wardens and stray kennels check for microchips.
Have you been to all the stray kennels in your area also taken a poster of Jasper for them to check. The reason I put cross breeds on Jaspers page is a finder may not know he is a Tibetan Terrier so worth checking colours but that's just my opinion. lots of posters help too.
James Cocker
Thanks millypod,do the dog wardens always check for microchips first when they find a dog? On the animal wardens website there are dogs described as cross breed + black but not in the area he went missing. Is it worth checking on those?
DogLostMillypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer
Edit: dog I posted is now reunited.

Anyone who can help with postering would be greatly appreciated. Looking at the area where Jasper ran off its hard to know where else to put the posters. He could have run into farmland/fields etc or headed into village of Staining itself. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Is there anything else we should be doing or any advice?
James Cocker
2 local caravan sites also have his picture and local farms are alerted. The De Vere hotel in Blackpool is aware as there is a footpath from Staining to that area. There is a gypsy camp not far from the area which has already been visited too.
James Cocker
Posters have gone up in Staining area, local pubs and shops. Barracks in Weeton also have a picture of Jasper.Leaflets have also been put through doors in same area. My sister has printed some posters + laminated them and is sending them via post. Anything else we can do?Last edited: 2013-11-25 13:46:26 by James Cocker

Thanks for everyone's help in searching for Jasper. Mum + dad are going out everyday to look for him, returning to the area where he went missing. We have posters up in the area and are putting leaflets through doors. RSPCA + other shelters aware. Dog warden and local police. Family and friends are helping too and his picture has been seen by tons of people on facebook. We are praying for his safe return.

If anyone is local that could help with printing some posters and putting them up in the area, This would be a great help to Jaspers owners.

Sorry to see that JASPER STILL MISSING is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk

  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
