It seems any dog found in Devon or Cornwall goes into a black hole. It has only one chance, that its owner thinks to ring the right warden in the right area of either county, wherever in the country that dog went missing. No information will be given by the warden to anyone but the owner. I have emailed Cornwall County Council, spoken to the Wardens and even asked my local Councillor to help in a request to let us as volunteers log all strays to Doglost. No replies or even acknowledgements have been received. I know Max is also trying to help and hope she has more success.

No that one's a toy yorkie.
Just spoken to Lauceston Police and they were looking into it as a possible missing person but no-one has reported anyone missing or claimed the dog so could well have been dumped. She's pretty sure the dog is male so I will update info.
The dog warden she reported it to was called Richard Downing. It will be going for rehoming at St Francis's Home for Animals at the weekend.

Hi Moogie, there's a "Lost Dog Terrier missing from Lanreath/pelynt Lanreath Cornwall (just 10 miles away South) registered on http://www.nationalpetregister.org/mp/52626.htm. Could this be the same dog?
DogLostMoogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
Thanks Fergal's Servant for following this up. I have had a message back from Launceston Police to say the dog will be going to an animal shelter this weekend for re-homing. I have his contact number to call tomorrow to see if I can find more info on the dog and where he/she might be going. There has been one possible owner trying to follow this up and the dog warden has no dog logged with this description. It seems to be very difficult in Cornwall to track a found dog...and worrying that they only have 7 days to trace their dog.
Please remember that if you have lost a dog, please keep re-registering it with the dog warden as it only remains on their system for 30 days.

I have posted this to 15 border types in Lost. Maybe none of them are this lost one but it seems to be the only way to do it for the moment. "Please see Found 56851. This dog was found very dirty and thin at Colliford Lake,nr Bodmin, with a blue collar and black lead still attached. The police did a search of the area, found nothing and have no missing person reports. It was picked up by a kennels (out of hours) from Launceston Police Station, who seem to think it went to RSPCA Longdown (Exeter). I tried RSPCA Little Valley Kennels near Longdown who say they don't take strays. The Dog Warden Devon say Launceston is Cornwall so would not come to Devon. The Cornwall Dog Warden will not give any information, even the sex, of the dog to anyone other than the owner. So the only option is to post this to all Border types lost. PLEASE register as lost with the Dog Wardens (and remember they have it listed as a Border Terrier) for them to release details of where it is. Cornwall DW 0300 1234 212. East Devon DW 0845 241 7253. Exeter DW 01392 265155"

Thank you for taking the time to list this found dog and ensuring the safety of the dog.
Please ensure that you notify your local Dog Warden and the local Police Station - in Scotland you MUST inform your local Police Station and if possible contact the Dog Warden also.
The found dog may have a Microchip or a Tattoo - please have the dog scanned and checked for a tattoo at a vet's so that owners may be contacted as soon as possible.
Please check on our Missing pages in case the Found dog has been registered as missing with us.
If possible please add a photo as this greatly assists our work in matching Found dogs with Missing dogs.
