Hello Guy. I lost my dog last week in RG8, The Holies, not miles from The Ridgeway in Streatley. Three dogs missing around here under same circumstances. Maybe we should compare notes?
My dog is Cassie lost on 13th August.

Will print off some details off of this lovely girl and hand them out when we are out walking with our dogs, we live nearby. We are out every evening and through the day at weekends so will stop and ask everyone we see. Keeping everything crossed for her safe return x

I am in Wales from Tuesday this week so am unable to help at the moment. Has anyone tried BBONT on the Ridgeway up Aston Hill? They are normally very helpful there and do allow you to put posters up if you ask.

I have looked around Christmas Common / Stokenchurch area today there is 'The Kennel Shop' virtually opposite the rescue,I did tell them about Ebony But if you can get a poster up there in their shop they will display it for you...I really think more posters are needed in the Christmas Common area.....Also drop one in to the Fox & Hounds Public house as they are very Dog friendly and I know if anyone hears of a stray in they area they will!Last edited: 2013-08-09 19:25:20 by Shereen

Guy nothing to report and good to see posters out along the Ridgway,I didnt see a poster at the other 'Hill Road'(Watlington) leading up to Christmas Common on the exit from the Ridgway...I didn't make it as far as Cowleaze woods (The sculpture trail) but if you haven't postered there already Id suggest you do so, as the direction she went in would bring her out around there...there are many footpaths along there leading down to the valley....when putting posters there put them in key places like the knee rails on the entrance to the car park also the big posts entering the footpaths on the opposite side of the road...dont poster trees as the forestry people will remove them.Ill try and alert them as they are very good at keeping an eye out in the area and they like to help if they can.Last edited: 2013-08-08 23:31:17 by Shereen

just going to go and take a walk down there now

Did she actually run away or could she have been stolen? These dogs are favourite with our traveller 'friends'as they use them for hare coursing. Might be worth investigating local traveller sites!

Will keep a look-out around Chinnor/Bledlow areas ... it may be advisable to check with Stokenchurch Dog Rescue just up the hill from Watlington and also Macabee Kennels at Longwick. Did Ebony go missing on the West side of Watlington on the Ridgeway or between Watlington and the M40?

Sorry to see that EBONY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (55879)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
