Thank you everyone for your kind words, they do mean so much.
I have known for a while what happened to him although it's still extremely raw, I just couldn't bring myself to update him to Rainbow Bridge, most probably in denial as he was and is my best friend.
We had a very special bond, one I've never had before, and it was amazing.
Miss you boy, more than you know, we will be together again xxxxx

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

PS> This is why it is so important to check ALL outbuildings such as sheds, greenhouses, garages etc. One day I could not find my cat anywhere; I found out that she had climbed into our suitcase (Due to go on hols) I had left the zip partly open, but she was okay thank goodness. A site on here called Catchat which gives many, many tipos on how to find your lost cat. Just google Catchat lost cats, i really is very good. One cat was once locked in a neighbours garage, for abojut 3 or 4 days, but managed to survive by licking some moisture insaide. Now reunited.Last edited: 2015-08-01 08:01:43

I found out Rascal had crossed over to Rainbow Bridge :'(
My poor boy had got curious and gone into a house that had the front door left open whist an estate agent was conducting a viewing, and had been locked in there for a month.
Miss you Rascal lad, wait for me on that bridge little one :'(Last edited: 2015-08-01 01:45:44 by Dynamite

Sorry Rascal is still missing. Have you tried cooking somew chicken or fish? The tempting odour may bring him back. Presume you have posted details of him plus photo through doors. Try putting his scent on say his blanket, and if possible leave outside in the garden if dry. It is possible that someone has been feeding him, and he thinks he has been "Adopted" Good luck

I've been out everynight looking for him, rang vets, rescues, council cleaning and cleansing. He's all over FB, I have a niggling feeling he's been stolen as I have had 2 cats stolen in the past but they were recovered in Huddersfield!! All the way from Oldham. I just want my boy home :'( xx
skippy
Catchat website has a great action plan of things you can or should do. Many of these will be the same as for finding a lost dog, - but link is here if there is anything you haven't thought of yet -
http://www.catchat.org/lost.html

They also have a list of local rescues all of who might be contacted if a cat is found - http://www.catchat.org/adoption/lancs.html

Great he is micro-chipped - make sure the chip company have your up to date contact details.

I also assume you have contacted all your local vets - you can use the link to thr right of this page to find the ones in your area - make sure they all get his details. Cats tend to travel a little less than dogs so lots of fliers through local doors can be really effective. Encourage neighbours to check garages and sheds to make sure he hasn't got himself shut in somewhere. Keep an eye on windowsills of any empty houses or houses where neighbours may be on holiday.

Good luck your hunt - all crossed he will be home very soon. x
