Still no news and sightings of Cain. We find that strange as he is known around here. Please keep an eye out further afield or an eye out for anyone who may have taken him in as their own. He is very much missed.

You need to put reward on the poster to entice anyone to provide info if they know. Genuine people do not usually claim rewards, but it can help in locating his whereabouts. Let me know or add yourself. Just "yes" not an amount, will be fine. x

Also, refresh your scent in the area daily! If he's walking round a circuit you never know which day he will be back at the place lost. x

DTub, have you called everyone on the email list DogLost sent? Is there a railway nearby, if so check that too. If you think he could have been taken you really need to keep up the publicity - all over Harold Wood, Harold Hill and further out. Don't know if he has a chip but if he hasn't you must go all out calling kennels daily and don't leave it at that, actually go and visit and hand a poster to them. Do not leave anything to chance. This is a lovely boy so someone may just not want to give him up, so make him incredibly too hot to handle. You are doing well, just keep on repeating it. People can forget, but hopefully they won't forget seeing this gorgeous boy. xLast edited: 2013-08-17 17:27:07 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

He will try and follow his own scent back the way he came, if he can. Do also call all road people - Highways Agencies of the borough and also local council's cleansing teams. They do not scan dogs they find at the roads; you have to call them to ask, so we need to cover all our bases and rule out the bad stuff but at the same time alerting them to keeping their eyes open to a dog on their travels. I am sure Cain is out there in the wild as collies are amazing at this. Do everything in the email, DTub, as it usually starts to gets answers coming in. Come on boy, let's get you home. x

Thanks for extra info. Will give them a call.

Might be worth contacting the collie specific kennels too, like wiccaweys and Valgrays and smaller ones, sometimes people go straight to them.

Local kennels and ones further away contacted. Local vets contacted. In the process of ringing vets slightly further away. Aiming to plan a route for scenting. Not as easy as I think Cain has gone quite far. But he is resourceful and clever and I think he probably kept running has gone quite far but is trying to make his way back. Our other dog hasn't seemed able to pick up a scent either. Please all continue to keep your eyes peeled.

Have you called the dog warden? Imperative you do this and also the kennels and rescues.

Dtub, read the email I sent to you. You need to scent the area back to the place you last saw him and leave something of yours there so he can come back to it, preferably next to a poster! He will be looking for you, so something of home needs to stay in the area for him to find to keep him there. Collies are extremely clever at living in the wild and will be scavenging the bins and discarded food. Set up a feeding station i.e food and water in a safe secure place every day and night and check if its gone. Could be foxes, but if it's gone, then you need to sit and watch to see whose taking it. Patience and perseverance are the keys. You can do this! You could even camp out where you lost him and wait for him to return. Try anything like that. Keep going. xxx

Does he have any doggy friends that he knows that could help by walking the area - possibly have a very smelly bbq at the park - does he have a favourite squeaky toy that may lure him out. Just a few ideas I hope he is found very soon. Julie x

He went missing from queens park rd

Still no sign of him. He is a nervous dog so won't go to anyone he does not know. He is a clever resourceful dog so we believe he's around somewhere. Any tips on how to find dog in large parkland area?? We live up by harold wood park and the woodland areas and think he may have scarpered in there so he could be a distance out... Please keep circulating his details. Thanks x
