Petal, email your new photo into DogLost Admin, or, if you can, remove one of them by "delete" and then re add the new one. You will need to refresh or reload browser to see new pic. Thanks Barleysmum. Magicpoogle, have I sent you the email advice or Petal? Just need to make sure owner also has that advice. Thank you. xLast edited: 2013-08-22 06:06:46 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

I think you can only have 2 pics on, so will have to change the 'extra' pic. We are still looking out for Kit & Monty and watching for anyone walking them too. I'm also looking through the internet at the ads just in case.x
Petal125
Found another pic on me computer how do I ad it xx??
barleysmum
Yes, we do know our dogs but unfortunately it was getting quite late and therefore dark and whilst my partner was quite sure it was a black dog he saw, by the way it walked and wagged it's tail, he could not be sure of the breed. We had no idea that there was any other dog missing apart from Monty in the area, and therefore assumed it was Kit. So sorry Petal125.Someone might be looking after her and as she had no tag might not know what to do. Older people often don't have internet access. We will keep looking and spreading the word and so hope you have her back soon. Don't give up hope.x

Oh Petal, are you sure? Because, I am sure Barleymum's family know their dogs, unless they only caught sight of a part of him. I hope you are scenting in the area she went missing from back to a safe place, whilst you are out there? That will be a great thing to do as she will know you have been there and hang around there. Not across any roads but around the safe green areas. x
Petal125
Done a few more searches nothing the little black dog that was seen in same area was a cocker spaniel xxxxxxxxxxx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Well done Petal. Can you do the scenting as per the email we sent to you? This is what you need to do around that area to keep her there and possibly scent up to a poster so she can be seen if she follows the scent to it. Read the email and it will explain better. Come on Kit. x
Petal125
Just got back from evening search heard others out there calling her name still no show xxx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Well done Barleysmum and owner. Okay, the best time to see a lost dog is early morning and evening, so this maybe what you have to do. Sit and wait and try a throw away BBQ so she picks up the smell and comes closer to investigate. Remember she has been living wild for a bit, so let her come to you - do not chase as she needs time to process who you are. She is in survival mode at the moment, but once she has time to work it out, she will come to you. The same goes for Monty, also lost in same area. They must be getting discarded food as Barleysmum says. Keep those posters going up and you will get a call when a member of the public spots her too. Good news! x
Petal125
Just back from long search Lexden park by the dyke NO JOY XXXX Crawled in the bushes xx

Hope you find her. I'll go over later with some food as well when I walk my dog. Fingers crossed that she comes home soon. X

Bumped for sighting.
Petal125
Its on here by the lady that called xx
barleysmum
I have called the owner as my partner had a possible sighting of Kit tonight! We were walking back down King George Playing Field and had separated to search for both Kit and the other missing dog Monty. My partner is fairly sure he saw a black dog come out of the bushes, wag its tail and look around, hesitate then run back in again. A group of girls with a retriever came past at the time and they were fairly noisy so I guess that would have scared her. We waited a while to see if she'd come out again, and then tried calling her but she didn't come out. It was getting quite dark so impossible to see in the hedges. This was on the dyke side of the field about halfway down. I'm thinking she could be hiding during the day and coming out at night to scavange crisps and bits that kids leave around the field. The owner is going to go there to call her tomorrow. She must be hungry by now and I'm sure she'll come running. Finger crossed and so hoping it's her. x
Petal125
Thank you Red and everyone.. I have a little hope in my heart still xxx all your kindness will be rewarded in the future no doubt xxx Big Big Thank You xx

I am pleased that people are putting posters up for you, this will really help. Please don't give up, it must be a terrible time for you. Fingers and toes crossed that everyone will spread the word and your baby will be back where she belongs. We are all thinking of you. Can a local scout group, girl guides help this lady put up posters.?Perhaps local dog walkers could also help this lady. Wishing you lots of luck and hope she will be returned to you soon.
Chris63
Oh Petal125 I am sure you will find your little dog, the local people round here will do all we can to find her. Hopefully with all the posters going up, it wont be long before she is home. Please don't give up. X
Petal125
I am Thanking you from my heart, I am unable to get out to do any leg work due to my disability of being unable to walk far medical reasons so this does not help, the friend I was visiting at the time of her going off, is unable to help me with the situation she is in, can not air her business, I do not have many friends the ones I do have are local and don't drive or have computers, I can not afford to buy a printer as suggested I don't have much money to live on, enough to keep me and my little dogs a nice comfortable life, I have done a lot of phone work and put her on as many sites as possible, its hard not to give up hope now its been this long ,if someone had found her they would have handed her back by now, so they must be keeping her, I have got to get used to the fact that she is gone, I have not had a good nights sleep in over a week with worry and feel awful I can not do as much as I should be doing due to my situation.................I thank you all from the bottom of my heart those that have helped big time with trying to locate Kit. xxxx
barleysmum
I've put some more posters up - halfway down the dyke, in Stanway, and the gate to Westlands by the farmers fields. I noticed people stopping to read them after I put them up which was encouraging.
Chris63
I am able to put up posters but printer broken so need someone to print off some posters. Willing to help find this little dog.
innthedoghouse
Is it possible that people could put up posters whilst hunting for both dogs. Can the owner of other dog print posters of Kit? Somebody must be able to put posters up of Kit? Why cant the friend print posters? Can the owner buy a printer or ask someone to print them off. I am sure the vets would print some off for you or local rescue print some posters. Posters are the key to getting this baby back, Dont give up, just an idea - why cant posters be handwritten in felt tip? its better than none at all. Can Kit's owner talk to Monty's owner and perhaps they can help each other. They may be able to give each other support and encouragement and this awful upsetting time for everyone.
Angel Mel
Hi I am from Bella's Angels I was out looking for Monty and Kit yesterday morning and last night, I think it would be worth postering the dyke, king george fields and surrounding areas. I saw some posters up of Monty but not Kit. Think it might also be worth leafleting the surrounding houses

Petal, owners get dogs back weeks or months later. If you give up then she is long gone. If you work to get her home, then you stand a good chance. We can never promise, but I can assure you that many dogs get back from being stolen when posters go up. So many people are trying for you, please try and get some posters out there. This is what works. DogLost is testament to is fact. You CAN do it. x
Petal125
I have done Local paper radio, lots of dog sites, dog warden, police, I have no printer, No one will hand her back now she is well gone............Thank you for all your helpxxxxxx Thank you to the person that did put spome posters up for me x

Chris63
I would help you barleysmum but my printer is broken. Where abouts have you put the posters so if I manage to get some printed off will put in other areas. Thanks.
barleysmum
We're going out now to put up a few posters and will do more tomorrow. Could do with some help though as work means I have a 12 hour day! Thanks in anticipation!
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Petal, if she isn't microchipped and there are no posters, how will finders know who to call? Sometimes they get picked up and taken home to another area and another dog warden who won't know where she has come from. Please find a way to get posters up. We cannot state this strongly enough. Keep safe little one. We are trying. xxx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
We have no co-ords in that area - only you helpers who live that way. Petal, someone has to get those posters up if we're going to find your fur baby. As has been said, can't the friend do this for you? If you can't get there why not do as innthedoghouse has said, and put ad in that local paper? You have a list of things to do in the email that we sent, please lets us know what you have done so we can advise further.

Been out searching tonight since 8.30pm but no sign i'm afraid. We will keep looking! There is also another little dog missing in same place since same day, so looking out for both of them.

Posters need to be put up everywhere
Pet shops, vets, groomers need to be informed along with rescue centres, dog wardens.
Are there any helpers who can put up posters and also can't the friend whose house she escaped from put up posters for you.?They need to be everywhere including shops, lampposts, vets, supermarkets, house windows, somebody may have found her and doesn't know who she belongs to. Any luck with the communicator? please somebody who lives in the area poster the details of this little girl- Any coordinators that can help?
Posters need to be the key to getting her back - lost advert in the local paper?
barleysmum
I've shared this through my Facebook page and asked people to print posters to put up all over the area. We will put the word about whilst walking our own dog too. Somebody must know something. Hang on in there!
Petal125
I cant get back to the area she went from to do this I am afraid... Someone has her I know it and I just hope its a nice home .......
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Petal, some helpers in the area are speaking to people and trying to spreda the word but they have suggested more posters are needed as you need everyone to be aware she is missing. So, may be a good idea to get 100 or so out there, if you can. This is what really works. If someone has her they won't know who to call unless they see a poster. Keep going you can do this! Poster, poster poster! Make her too hot to handle! xxx
Petal125
Still Missing 2 More days and its a week... someone somewhere must have her if only they were Honest enough to hand her back xx

Sorry to see your Baby is missing. Dogs lost recommended to a friend of mine, that lost a dog, an animal communicator. She was excellent and told them the exact location to find their dog. It was reunited safe and well, in a barn she had described. Her name is Catherine - 01824 705510. May be worth a try, she helps by telephone, not in person. Good luck and fingers and toes crossed for her safe return. The dog was Marco from Lindfield, Sussex

Sorry to see that KIT is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (55273)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
