Pics are taken once they have done their 7 days in the stray kennels

54742 is the FOUND one registered on DogLost and is our ID number. It has well passed the 7 days and if up for rehoming there maybe a photo of it on the websites.

Well done NickyB and Nora for all the work you are putting in supporting R

Has anyone been in touch with the finder of 54742 and asked them to check the photo of this missing boy? They maybe able to eliminate whether there is a possible match. It may have already been done. x
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
I've emailed his photo and details to MDH, RSPCA's and kennels across the North. Also shared details and photo on facebook which includes Manchester & Cheshire Dog's Home and RSPCA's.

'R' I have emailed you a copy of the email sent out.

Thank you for everyone who has started sharing the details I've put on fb. x

http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog-blog.php?dogId=54742#.UfmHVNIWLbU FOUND page on DL

Thanks R for the update, I've had a look through the found page, pity there is no photo and we only have a description to go by. If any matches are found on the AW's site always best to copy the link to the page and the full details including the reference number.
R.
NORA - Thank You! :).

MAJORJET (Jan) - The Dog I.D For Dog We Were Wantin A Look At Is 54742.

I'll Try & Get Some Other Pictures Of Him Off My Phone & Get Them On The Computer, Just My Phone Broke & I'm Down To A Old One ATM Until I Get Some Money Together To Get A New One.

Thank You!
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Thanks Jayne for the email alerts. :)

With this being in the North East I would not be checking the page but I did update his photo when he was first registered on DL. If there is a possible match for this boy can you please post a link? I will email MDH but need some background of any match. Once have more details I will try and help.

Also if you have more photo/s especially showing his markings, tail and full body shots I can do a group photo which will help greatly when cross checking for matches.

I've not dealt with MDH for a while. They have always been good and MDH have made matches in the past checking DL. They are not easy to contact via phone and are a very busy kennels. x
Nora
Sorry R and Jayne only just seen recent messages, i have been asleep most of the time....shingles, no one ever told me how painful and exhausting it can be.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do
R.
Thanks Jayne.

I'll Try Not To! :)

R.
NORA - Have You Got Twitter?
R.
All I Want Is For Someone At MDH To Look At My Little Lads Picture & Tell Me If It's Him Or Not... It's Not Hard To Do!

I Don't Want To Put My Dogs Name On 'Cause He Was STOLEN!

& I Would Cadge A Lift, Train, Bus, Even Hitch-Hike... If I Knew For Definate It Was My Boy!
NickyB
spoke to vet who works there.he rang and as I stood there gave them doglost id no. and my no. that was 11.30 approx. its now 17.02 and heard nothing.was hoping they had rung dog owner direct. what is the dogs name? I would cadge a lift get a coach or train hitchhike if necessary
R.
Ohh, I'ts Back Now. :)
R.
Thing Is Though Nora, I Don't Drive ATM. I'd Still Jump In A Car & Drive Down If It Was My Little Lad. :)

& Wilf's Page Still Is'nt On. :/ Or If It Is, I Can't See It.
B30
Jayne I have already asked if a NW co-ordinator can help with contacting Manchester Dogs Home but I don't know if they have yet.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Maybe go through a local co ordinator...will pass link on for them to see...tx
Nora
Jayne, made me think, Perhaps a change of tactic and ask manchester dogs home to put a photo of the dog they have up, dog ID no 54742 if we had a photo of their dog....problem solved.
Nora
Wilf is back
Nora
NickyB if we can just get them to look at R's photo and confirm or dismiss, that is all we are asking for no one is asking them to hand over the dog.
I phoned the Guildford warden today who has a similar dog, he rung me back within minutes to say no sorry photo didn't match
Nora
R, I don't know it has disappeared ....oh
Nora
NickyB , you can talk to a person, I have twice, but you have to persevere, I had to keep ringing back, to eventually get to one, I have spoken so far to two different people, if you read further down the thread you will see the giste of the conversation, the landline no is as have previously given.
R has also emailed them and sent photos, and has , so far, been ignored
I have contacted them through Facebook and was told to ring the same number, I replied that I did, and no one would help.....I have not had a reply.
I understand R cannot get there, it is not possible for some people to jump in a car and travel a 100 or more miles, especially on such limited information, that is why we are trying to get them to look at his photo, then they can say no sorry or yes it is him, if it is him, no doubt R would move heaven and earth to get to him.
As R says, his dog was stolen, so could have been sold on elsewhere, so he could be anywhere now
R.
NORA - Where's Wilfs Page Gone?!?!? :/
R.
NICKYB - My Dog Was Stolen, Hence Looking EVERYWHERE! He Could Be As Far As Manchester For All I Know!

Do You Not Think If I Could Get Down I Would?
NickyB
only recorded mssgs when u phone. could u email them poster - I don't know how to. I spoke to local doglost rep.if dog is at mdh they wont hand him over to anyone other than owner.i am confused why it is thought a dog from durham is in Manchester but if it was my dog I would get to Manchester by any means to check.i am still trying to find a landline phone no. so I can speak to someone.dont know how long they keep found dogs before rehoming.know a retd vet who works at mdh phone ex directory so just off to his house to see if he can advise me
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Tx Pete for clarifying...any chance of a photo of the found dog to avoid other potential owners ringing on the off chance...tx
R.
Thanks For Checking Nora, Your A Big Help! :). As For Manchester Dogs Home, Are Usless!! I STILL Haven't Had An E-Mail Back Off Them Or Anything... Has My Blood Boiling! Only Takes 2 Minutes To Take A Look At A Dog.

PETE THE DOG - Thank You.
Nora
R, I have spoken to the Guildford dog warden, he has looked at his photo on here, sadly the dog they have is not your lad.....sorry.
Don't get disheartened we will carry on looking for him
Dog WardenPete the Dog (Guildford Borough Council)
i can confirm that its definitely not the dog we have in Guildford. Sorry. Keep searching. Best wishes.
Nora
Tried to register on the missing pets register, but it says I cannot because my IP address does not originate from the UK.....ummmm if I am not here then where the heck I am?
Nora
I have found a phone number for the Guildford dog warden, I will give them a ring this morningLast edited: 2013-07-26 08:12:56 by Nora
Nora
I don't know what to make of Manchester dogs home, they do not seem to be the least bit interested that there might be a possible owner for one of the dogs that is supposed to be in there kennels.
I will write to them, and enclose a poster, don't know what else to do at the moment.
Nora
I can contact them via email or phone, but it is not in my area I am afraid, so I could not go and have a look, if you check out google maps, I am in Canterbury not far from margate.
I will investigate, see if I can find any more info, if it looks very positive there must be someone on Doglost who is nearby
R.
http://www.nationalpetregister.org/fp/51188.htm

NORA - Could You Please Check This For Me & If You're From This Area Could You Give Them A Ring For Me Please, Just I've Got No Credit ATM.
R.
Hmmm, Will It Not Be Worth Another Try? See If There's Someone Different On The Other End Of The Phone (Maybes Someone A Bit More Helpful This Time)
Nora
NickyB you said you was going to ring, did you manage to get anywhere with them?
Nora
Got a message back telling me to phone the number I have already phoned twice :(
R.
I Haven't Had Any Word Back Either.

A Think It's Time For Me To Send A 'Kick Up The Arse' E-Mail To Them!
Nora
I have contacted them through Facebook asking for their help....just have to wait and see.....again
Nora
I have shared on my Facebook again as well
Nora
Not heard anymore so I shall try them though Facebook now
R.
Thanks.

& I Know, I Would Be Looking In Every Kennel If I Worked In One To See If The Details Matched Any Of Them. It's Not Hard To Stroll Around To Check!
Nora
R, it is so frustrating, we will see if NickyB got anywhere then I will go through Facebook....don't they realise if he if your dog, that will be another happily reunited, surely that is good news for everybody, themselves included
R.
Nora - I've Still Had No Reply From Them. Do You Know What It Pissin Is (Sorry For The Language) Why Can't They Take 2 Minutes (2 MINUTES!!!) Of Their Time To Look?!?!?

They've Got Me FOAMING! Selfish People What They Are!!! God Help Them If I Ever Speak To Any Of Them Mind, They'll Be Gettin An Ear Full!

I Also Had A Look To See What Dogs They Had On & There Wasn't Many... I Could Take Them All Home With Me Though, Poor Babies!
Nora
NickyB the dog is at Manchester dogs home, not their Cheshire place, I hope you have better luck getting somewhere than I did (read my post from yesterday evening)Last edited: 2013-07-24 18:14:59 by Nora
NickyB
is someone going to Manchester dogs home and is it definitely mdh or their other place Cheshire dogs home? whilst I wait for your confirmation will now ring both places and cfm they still have dog their id no.54742 then wait for your mssg
Nora
I have gone through their site don't have photos of many dogs up, just the latest lot up for adoption, and he is not amongst these ones
Nora
R that was a good email, hopefully that will do it, if they don't reply I shall message them through Facebook, I will tag them his details
R.
Just Sent Another One With His Dog I.D... Totally Forgot About Puttin That On.

All Done Now Though. :)

Now It'sJust A Waiting Game To See If They Get Back To Me. :/.
R.
*****JUST SENT THEM A SHORT E-MAIL*****

Hey, I'm Just Wondering If You Will Look At A Picture Of My Dog To See If He's Down Your Place. He Was Stonlen, So He Could Be As Far As Manchester, If Not Further.

I've Got Him Registered On DogLost & A Few Other Dog Sites. If You Could Take A Few Minutes Of Your Time To Take A Look On The DogLost Site To See If My Little Lad's At Your Place That Would Be Great! www.doglost.co.uk There Is A Picture Of Him & A Bit Info About Him, Could You Please Check Then Get Back To Me.

Thank You.

Hope They Get Back To Me Or I Will Be Hammerin The E-Mails To Them Until They Do! :)
R.
Sue - Thank You! :)

NORA - I'd Be More Than Willing TO E-Mail Them (Lets Just Hope They're Nice To Me Or I Could Lose My Head) ;) I Don't Go On FaceBook, So Could I Be A Pain & ASk You To Check On There Please?
Nora
Thanks Sue that would be a great help xx
B30
R. I have alerted our North West team to what is happening here to see if they know anyone else that you can speak to about the found dog.
Nora
If you don't have Facebook let me know and I will try
Nora
Found this from their website, it is a contact form, but I don't think it allows for a photo attachment, you could explain then ask if they could email you so that you can sent a photo or give them the ID no.
http://www.dogshome.net/contact-us/

They also have a Facebook page, if you have Facebook you can contact them through there, search for Manchester and Cheshire dogs home
Nora
I am still hoping someone else might have a go, thought about ringing again today but having a bad day today, so very grumpy, so I will probably lose it, if I find their email address It might be worth you emailing them, explain how far away you are and that your dog was stolen and you think there is a possibly that he might be yours, and attach a photograph, if you say very humbly if they could check the photo against the dog they have, when they get a chance you would be very grateful.........worth a try
If we don't eliminate or confirm the other one you will be forever wondering if he was yours
R.
I Would Of Been Foaming If I Was You & On The Phone To Them! Fair Enough There Will Be 100's Of Dogs There, But It Didn't Stop Her From Taking Any Details Of My Little Lad! To Be Honest, It'd Be Simpler To Take The Details & Pass Them On.

I Would Of Went Down Myself But It's Hours Away & I Have No Transport. :(

Hope You Get Well Soon, & Thank You For Taking The Time To Ring Them... Much Appriciated. :)

X
Nora
One little bit of info I did get however was that he had a black collar when found
Nora
It was very frustrating, i said can you please look him up on doglost, just to look at his photo, no, she said, I don't have anything to do with the dogs, so I said can you please just give the kennel staff the ID no so they can look up him up on the Doglost site, no she said, they are not allowed access to the computers, so I said can't you still give it to them so they can check at home, no she said I cannot do that either, I tried to describe your lads unusual markings, but she wasn't really interested, I asked her again without success if she could please talk to the kennel staff, in the end I decided I was just flogging a dead horse, and i was starting to get really annoyed! i know they are busy and they have 100's of dogs but I think she could have at least taken his details and passed them to someone that could check

If anyone else wants to try, the number is 08445041212 option 1 then you wait for a member of staff, I am trying to think of away round this, but in the meantime is there please someone else on doglost in that area that can help out
I would love to be able go to the home for you R, but I am hours away in Canterbury, Kent And i have a double dose of shingles to boot x

R.
Ohh Nooo! :(

I'm Suprised They Don't Look At Them, Doesn't Take Two Minutes!

I Don't Know Anyone That Would Go Down To Have A Look. :(

I'm Quite Angry About That Mind, Who Wouldn't Take 2 Minutes Of Their Time To Check A Dog? 'Cause I Know I Would Of!
Nora
Sorry I could not get any further than this......I am pretty frustrated about it
Nora
Finally managed to get through and spoke to someone else, was told office staff do not see the dogs only kennel staff and she cannot pass a message and his ID to the kennel staff "as they do not work not work like that" in which case I am assuming that the chap I spoke to yesterday did not check.
I was told that someone would have to come and look at the dog, with the owners permission, Manchester dogs homes postcode is M9 5PG is there anyone nearby that could go and check for R, the Doglost id no of the dog at the home is 54742Last edited: 2013-07-23 18:08:19 by Nora
R.
Ohhh, Yes It Narrows It Down A Bit. :D

& Okay, Just Let Me Know On Here. :)

Thank You.
Nora
54742 the one in the dogs home I am trying to get info on, we know now he is entire like your lad, helps a little, if we could just have a photo.
They have 500 dogs at the home, so i imagine they are really busy, so perhaps it is taking him longer than I had hoped to check him out.
I will ring back if nothing is heard soon
R.
He Hasn't Been Intouch With Me.

& What Other Little Guy?
Nora
R has the gentleman from the dogs home contacted you direct or anyone at Doglost, I was hoping he would let someone know yay or nay.
I will ring again if nothing is heard, it would be nice if we could get a photo for the other little guy as well
R.
Ahhh, Great! :)

Thanks Nora.

Xx.
Nora
R just spoke to a lovely man at Manchester dogs home (thank you so much for your help), he will have a look at your lads photo's to see if he matches the one they have xxLast edited: 2013-07-22 15:12:19 by Nora
R.
Thank You! :)

He NOT Neutered... Eeeek, I Hope It's Him!

He's Got Two Black 'O' Type Shapes On The Back Of His Neck Aswell.
Nora
I have the no for the dog warden, haven't been able to get hold of anyone yet but I will keep trying
Nora
R is he neutered or entire, I phoned the vet the one they saw was entire, they did not think the markings matched, but I will try and get the manchester dog pounds no to double check
R.
I Know, His Markings Are Very UnCommon. I've Never Seen A Jack Russell With Markings Like That Before.

&& I Hope He Is Okay. :) I Miss Him UnReal Amounts! :(

If I See A Jack Russell When I'm Out I Walk Over Just To See If It's Him, Sounds Stupid But I Even Look If It's Not His Colour (Just To Be Certain)

It's Been 9 Weeks & 4 Days Today. :'( I Wish He'd Just Turn Up On The Door Step... Would Make My Day!
Nora
I have a strong gut feeling that your lad is safe and well, just needs someone to spot him, and the more people that know and see his pictures the greater your chances of getting him home...it just needs one person to spot him and connect the dotsLast edited: 2013-07-22 08:13:31 by Nora
Nora
He does have a very distinctive marking on his side, almost like a big white O on his left flank, which your picture shows up very well, one of the first things I noticed, so i would hope this will help anyone identify him easily.Last edited: 2013-07-22 07:50:52 by Nora

R.
Ahh Okay.

Thank You Muchly! :)

I'll Take A Look.
B30
It's called the Countryman's Weekly and comes out on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on your area. Shops are unlikely to stock it though and if you want a copy you'll probably need to order one. If anyone has any information they normally phone Dog Lost and then we would contact you.

NickyB

R.
SUE - Thank You Ever So Much! :) I Hope So Too.

JANIEJEWEL1649 - I Know They Do, & It Needs To Be Put To A Stop! They Obviously Don't Think Of The Pet & How It Must Knock Them Been Taken Away From Their HOME, & For The Pets Owner. 'Cause I'm Distraught That He's Been Stonlen! :(

I'll NEVER Stop Looking For Him & When I Find Him (Behopes He's Not With The Person That Stole Him!) I Just Want My Little Boy Back With Me.. WHERE HE BELONGS!!!

R. Sorry to see your little lad is still missing. No people should not steal other people`s pets, but the sad fact is they do. I know you, and DogLost are doing all you can to make him "TOO HOT TO HANDLE" Paws, and fingers xd, for his safe return
B30
Advertised in this weeks Countryman's Weekly magazine. I hope it brings some news.
R.
I'm Trying To, I Check This Site & 3 Others Everyday.

I Know He's Out There Somewhere... But Where?

He Shouldn't Of Been Stolen In The First Place, Would LOVE To Slap Whoever Took Him. It's Got Me Sooo Bloody Irritaed!!! They Had/Have NO RIGHT AT ALL To Take Peoples Pets!

Come On Little Fella, I Need You Back Home!

R.
Thanks Nora! :)

I hope I hear something on my little lad very soon, It's been 8 weeks & 2 days since he was stolen. :(
Nora
I have shared again on my Facebook xx
R.
Could someone bump this page please?

Would It be too much too ask If I would like this done every month?
R.
&& They will get one... Don't you worry. :)

I don't think the people that do such a thing think how the dogs owner will feel... Or the poor dog in that matter!

The HORRID people that do things like this seriously want thrown into prison & left to rot!!!
Nora
R, don't blame you, they deserve one.
R.
I'll print some tomorrow to put up in the local vet & around the streets, ect.

I just wish I knew who took him, 'cause by are they in for a bloody BIG slap! People have NO RIGHT taking other peoples animals/belongings... I could scream, It's so fustrating not having a clue who took him or where abouts he's at! :(

I just want him back safe & sound... WHERE HE BELONGS!

Hi R. I think it would be a good idea if you sent posters to the rescue centres, vets and dog wardens so that they know what distinctive markings your lad has. Telephoning is good but nothing's better than a photo on a poster to remind them who they are looking for. It's very important to keep checking all these places and also to make sure dog wardens in surrounding areas know, as often someone who picks up a dog will travel back to their own area and hand them in there. Also, looking at the map, there seem to be several golf courses around yr area. Are they aware he's missing? Go there and give them a poster too. You never know he could be somewhere like that.. lots of places for him to hide & ready food sources a terrier could catch. Have you put posters up at the local woods? Lots of dog walkers to keep their eyes open. Poster anywhere and everywhere. Just keep at it R!

It's giving me a little bit more hope, yes.

I've rang them, but not in the past few days. I keep looking on the stray aid sites... Hopeing to find him on one of them, but nothing as of yet.

I also look on the found list (a few to many times) But you can't be to sure, he could just pop up on it within seconds.

& Thank you! :)
Nora
I hope Lizzie being found gives you more hope, and dogs are being reunited every day.

Have you rung round the rehoming centres, even if they don't have him yet, they can look out for him, I am sure you are watching the dogs found list, I know I am.

If I see anything I will send you the link.
R.
Thank you soooooo much!

Hopefully little Dawn's owners find her soon.

&& I hope he's by my side VERY soon... Safe & sound.Last edited: 2013-06-27 19:04:20 by R.

R, I will do what I can to help, I can keep him current on my Facebook, and I want to find out about twitter, there is a little dog in my area missing Called Dawn, they look very alike, so image imprinted on my brain, so I can keep my eyes peeled for a handsome little boy as well.

Clarkey - Thank You. I'll NEVER give up hope of getting him back! He's one of my little babies... My other dogs keep looking at where he used to stay, so they must miss him as much as I do. I'll be sticking them up everywhere... Just hope it get my little lad back soon, It's been 6 weeks today since he was stolen. :(.

Nora - He would probably answer if you said 'here son', he could be timid at first (never is with me but I'm unsure what he's like around strange people) as he's never been around strangers (apart from when out on walks) You say your at the other side of the country, but he was stolen so I don't know where he's at. :( .... Any help is better than none.

Sue - Thank you! I hope it brings some sort of trace of where he could be.

I genuinely appriciate all the help you's are giving... THANK YOU!
Nora
I also leave posters of dogs lost in my area, at vets, so they will recognise the dog If someone comes in with him/her, they are usually very happy to accept them, ask them to keep it behind the desk where the staff can see it, because you don't want the person that has him to walk in, see the poster and run.
Also supermarkets have boards you can put the poster on, usually free and has a wide audience
Nora
Sadly I am the other side of the country, but is there any one in R's area that can perhaps help out with postering

R. I'll get your dog a small advert in the Countryman's Weekly magazine asap. Will be a few weeks before it goes in though.
Nora
R, I know you said that you do not want to give his name because he was stolen, but I was thinking that he may respond to his name if spotted or foundLast edited: 2013-06-27 08:57:09 by Nora

Have shared on my page .. never give up hope. Keep postering everywhere and anywhere that lots of people will see them. Post them through people letterboxes too. Poster power works! Will be rooting for you and him to be reunited. Good luck. Last edited: 2013-06-27 02:37:18 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Hi I live in Co Durham, Chester le Street area. I have shared your dog to my FB page, keep postering and if you haven't already try doing a flyer drop around the residential areas where you live. If someone has him a neighbour of that person may recognise him. Also hand out to the postman and refuse men. Good luck, hope he is found safe and home very soon. I will keep a lookout for him and also check 'For Sale' websites.
R.

It is thought that this boy was taken from his garden as his owners don't think he could have escaped. They have contacted the dog warden and local Stray kennels and I have advised them to get plenty of posters up.
Hoping for news of this boy very soon x
R.
Thanks! :)

& I don't want to put it on here 'cause he was stolen.

Sorry to see that STILL LOST is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (53241)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
