Have spoken to ESSJ and it's unsure at the moment whether Paddy is still missing as she's not in direct contact with the owner. Will everyone know asap and if he is still on the run hopefully we can get a photo and get cracking on it.

I have tried a few times to make contact with the person who logged it but to no avail.

Thanks for that info DonnaB and also SpringerMadVicki for looking. I've just text Lizzy but as far as I know she has not managed to get a reply from the person who logged this dog to get the owner's contact info. There were plans for the weekend which unfortunately were called off because of this.

Please get the owner to contact the Visitor's Centre (speak to Sharon if she's there). She is in daily contact with all the rangers who patrol the whole of cannock chase on a daily basis and may be able to put a poster up in the visitor's centre and cafe. 01543 876741, you can also try the Birches Vallet centre on 01889 586593.

Just wondered if there were any updates on this boy? I popped over again last evening and had a good walk in the area, no sign of him.

I wondered if he had been picked up or reunited.

Can provide details of local vets and kennels if needed. Can also go over again if he is still missing.

Thanks
SpringerMadVicki
Thanks Sue.

Will pop over again later, perhaps when people have gone and its quieter if he's hiding up somewhere.

Thanks for your help SpringerMadVicki. As soon as we can make contact with the owner we can get a more specific description we may be able to put a similar photo on and get alerts out.

Just popped over for another walk. There were so many people about, dog walkers, mountain bikers, horse riders etc all going in different directions around the main car park area. Such a shame that there were not any posters etc. I walked through the woods and around the car park area, but sadly no sign.

Happy to go back out again later - if there is a photo available and contact details, I'd be happy to print some posters/flyers off to take with me.Last edited: 2013-05-19 12:12:04 by SpringerMadVicki

ESSJ please can you let Central co-ordinators have the owners contact information so that we can get going on this dog.

I went out to that area last night, from about 6.30pm for a couple of hours with my springer. We covered quite an area, into the woods, down towards the rifle butts, across to the caravan club and smallholding and across the open ground. Used a whistle and squeaky ball to try to attract his attention, but didn't see him. As my boy is Paddy too, did shout the name a few times. There were very few people in the area, but those I did see were made aware that he was missing.

I sat in the main car park for a while and searched the immediate area, in case he had made his way back there and was lying low.

It would be useful, if the owners could give an idea of whach way Paddy went, as there is Rugeley Quarry just over the back of the area and a number of large private houses with gardens that back onto the chase area. I drove around after the walk too as it was getting dark.

Posters are needed in this area as soon as possible - its a sunny day today and lots of people will be out walking and cycling and its an ideal opportunity to get people on the look out.

I'll be off out again in a short while to search again.

Paddy is believed to be an English springer spaniel - not a cross but cannot confirm as yet. No photo available. Friends from the area have been out yesterday evening looking and saw nothing but spread the word with other walkers and a camping club meet that was set up for the weekend in case he visits there. Paddy is only just 6 months old so not much more than a puppy.

Sorry to see that PADDY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (52513)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
