Great to see Pip home.

Thanks Chris and mamfa for your help XX

My house back onto these fields and we walk our dog Pippin on them daily so will look out for her. I can't print any posters but will talk to all my neighbours and fellow dog walkers. Hope she is found soon
Chris
P.S. her description says "mixed merle", which I can't really see from the pictures - does that mean blue or red collie merle? I mentioned both merle and 'mixed brindle' as I can only see brindle mixed, to be on safe side when describing her to people.

Spoke to owner briefly this evening to check if she is still missing, before looking around and passing word. Unfortunately I don't have a working printer and so no posters to pass around. I did my best to describe her, and where she went missing from, to the few people I saw in Ruddington Country Park which is one of the borders of where she went missing. It is a HUGE area to cover, being rural and surrounded by a number of different types of communities. I put a link to DogLost on the DogLost East Mids FB page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/270158526343032/659248794100668/?comment_id=659269594098588&notif_t=group_comment

After walking my own dog I drove around the perimeter of where I think Pip went missing - fields on the Ruddington/Clifton side of Gotham? Would be helpful for any updates, and how she went missing - e.g. was she spooked and ran in fear/or chasing a scent or prey; has she recently been re-homed (different chip details mentioned?) and might she be trying to head to her former home?
Didn't see any posters at all, guess owner not been able to print and get any up so far?
There are a number of farms would be worth driving up to them and dropping off 2 posters at each, one to keep one to share. There's a covered bus stop entering Gotham from Clifton side, could be postered, also a car sales garage, several pubs. Carrying on through Gotham, on the road to Bunny, there are two Footpath signs on the left on which posters could go; into Bunny there are bus stops and a garage that could be postered. Ruddington Country Park - the back road there are allotments, farms and derelict buildings bordering the rural area Pip went missing; they could all be postered, also entrances to that side of the Country Park as dog walkers from the whole area often walk there. Pasture Lane, between Ruddington and Clifton, leads to the same fields: there are works and derelict buildings there too, close to the fields.

Clifton is immense. Summerwood Lane curves all around from the Ruddington end up to the top end close to the road leading back to Gotham. Worth postering both ends of there and a few of the cul de sacs in between. Part way round there is a Summerwood Community Garden project - locked I think but worth contacting, it backs onto the fields. At the West end of Summerwood, on Farnborough Road, there is a fish & chip shop: worth postering and speaking to. Mid way on Farnborough, where it meets Southchurch Drive, there are a few shops and another chippie; there is also a Vets4Pets there, worth postering. Opposite is the Police Station - at about 8.30pm this evening it looked open or manned still.

I think you will be spanning two borough councils - I think Clifton is probably City; whereas Ruddington, Bunny and, I guess, Gotham are all Rushcliffe Borough Council. So both sets of dog wardens will need alerting; likewise finding out where strays are taken for both those authorities - I'm not sure.
I won't have access to a printer until next week when I can try & print off a few posters. It is a big area, and without sightings very difficult to know where to target. I mentioned Pip to random people I passed with dogs whilst driving around Clifton. Likewise in Ruddington Park. And asked them to check Doglost and to pass on the word. I tend to go to Ruddington area once of a weekend: it is the wrong side of the river for me, and I'm not likely to be able to get over there of a weekday to help poster.
