I'm so pleased! Have told the children in my class about the story and am relieved that he is back safely. Have been checking in here for updates all weekend! Frisby on the Wreake??? No wonder nobody knew where he'd gone!

Rolo is safely home! He was taken by DW to Frisby on the Wreake and collected by his delighted owner. He is now to be microchipped.

Thank you so much for making contact with us Julie. So pleased Rolo is safe but as you say we need to trace where he his. I have emailed the DWs and kennels where he may have been taken. This is now urgent has he could be rehomed after the 7 day policy. Owners have all contact numbers and I will also ring around on Monday. He is not chipped but is tattooed.

I was the person who left the note. Have just seen this website and finally managed to talk directly to the owner. Through my Facebook plea to look out for Rolo, we now know he was found by people in Newton Harcourt on Monday. They handed him in to a dog warden but nobody knows which one! I spoke to the out-of-hours dog warden and he didn't know where Rolo is. It seems that dog wardens are not talking to each other which seems ridiculous. Even the police had no record of Rolo being lost even though the owner had been in to register him lost! It's good to know Rolo is being looked after but WHERE???

Owner has seen a poster in Wigston from a dog walker saying a DW has collected him but although Council has the details he has not heard from them. Trying to chase this up with DWs and rescue kennels.

Newton Harcourt is LE8 so can alerts reflect this when they go out please
Have also notified a lady who works for Pet Pals who lives in the same road as Rolo lives

Have spoken to Rolos owner. Rolo either escaped or fell from the back of the car enroute from Wigston to Newton Harcourt. Owner feels that the tailgate must have shot open during the stopping and starting at traffic lights etc and reshut as his other dog was still inside at the destination.
Have given general advice and his son is going to forward a picture as soon as he can.
