  • Other Info We have lost our french bulldog when walking in Robin Woods. Our dog is very approachable and fine with other dogs me, my partner and our little boy miss him so much and just want him back at home with us. He's never strayed off before so we are so very worried. PLEASE if you have seen him call us. Thank you.

So it looks as if Loki's chip is OK. The important thing is to get as many posters up as possible around the area Loki went missing, and hand out flyers to dog walkers. Get an ad in the local paper. Set up a Facebook page for him. See if you can put a poster up in the Royal Mail sorting office so the posties see it. Poster shops and garages.

One of the team has clarified this for us. From the DEFRA website:

Failure of Virbec microchips
Virbac have identified a functionality issue with some microchips distributed since 2010. A small number of these microchips have recently malfunctioned.
The following chips with these batch numbers need to be replaced:
Chip numbers up to 900088000202473
Chip numbers 90008800020274 to 900008800259207

Virbac has written to all vets and owners concerned, where a faulty chip may have been implanted.

There were a bunch of chips with numbers starting 9000 which didn't register, should be something on site about it somewhere, but I have drawn the team's attention to your dog's chip number and I expect a more knowledgeable person will explain.

What do you mean a faulty batch? I have never heard of this before? Last edited: 2013-04-08 20:32:40 by Emilyjayned

I am concerned from looking at the number that this microchip may be one of the faulty batch?
