There is a blue whippet in http://leighdogsandcatshome.co.uk/straydogphotos.html - you will need to scroll through the pics and find the one that has Leigh Area - 526 on the bottom of it. If dog has gone from stray photos, take a look through the dogs for adoption, as thats where they move the unclaimed ones to. Good luck

SaffySP
Hi tillyboo, any news?
SaffySP
hi tillyboo, did her previous owners live in the area? I wonder whether she could be trying to find her way back there? Is there a local paper that you could put an advert in, in case someone's found her and taken her in?
tillyboo
update . no further sightings
tillyboo
the last sighting was 8 days ago been intouch with dog wardens and rescue centers x
SaffySP
When and where was the last sighting of her, tillyboo? have you been in contact with the local dog warden & rescue kennels in case she's been picked up? I'm not sure where strays are taken to around here.
tillyboo
not heard anything and not been sighted
SaffySP
Hi, how's it going? Any more sightings of her?
tillyboo
thank saffySP . the dogs barking are some private kennel I have spoke to the owner and theres some private stable I ve asked owners there to be vigilant .thanks so much
SaffySP
Hi tillyboo. I've just got home from having a good look around the park, but didn't see her I'm afraid. It's a lovely park, I had no idea it was there. At least if she's hanging around that area, there are plenty of places she can shelter and she's away from the main roads. I spoke to a chap who was looking at one of the posters you've put up on Parkside. He walks his dogs on the park regularly ad says he'll phone you straight away if he sees her. The only thing I did notice, as I walked away from my car and across the play area, was I could hear a pack of dogs barking somewhere in the direction of the church. Is there a farm or a kennels down there? If there is, it might be worth having a word with them to keep an eye out, as Jade might be attracted to an area where she can hear other dogs. The other idea is to find out when the bins are put out for collection on Parkside, as she might investigate them looking for an easy food source. I'll go up there and have another look around tomorrow.
tillyboo
3 pm left a food trail from Parkside somercotes to home address de554bq . felt a bit of a idiot walking a pair if tight s with roast pork fat inside got some wierd look s but don't care must get her back
SaffySP
Thanks. Try and plot the sightings on a map and keep a list of dates. Dogs usually move in a triangle when they're lost, so you might be able to spot a pattern.
tillyboo
thanks saffySP I ad rung Alfreton vets but a poster will be great . sightings of jade ave been around riddings park , Parkside which us somercotes side of the park was spotted near black horse pub lower somercotes and school croft riddings all are accessible on foot from the park so park in riddings community center car park . im going this afternoon and taking some v palatabe food those little square container cesar I think its called can be kept in your pockets and foil lid peeled off quickly . thanks so much if u could look for her x
SaffySP
Hi, just to let you know that I've dropped a poster off with Alfreton vets this morning and they're going to put it up in reception. I've also shared Jade's details with the DogLost East Midlands group on Facebook, so everyone on there is aware of her.
I'm at home tomorrow and Thursday so should be able to go and have a look round for her. Where's the best area for me to concentrate on do you think?
tillyboo
a really big thankyou to viki at Marehay for taking time out of her day to look for jade with me this morning and viki from Ashbourne for printing leaflets and distributing them with me thanks
Paw
If this is a new home is it far from where she had been living? She could be trying to make her way back to old home.

Tillyboo, I have just emailed you full scenting information so that things make a bit more sense and you can have a read through it.

Tillyboo, my comment may have sounded like a stupid joke but I can assure you that it isn't. Doglost volunteers often cook smelly food outdoors to attract a hungry dog who is running loose in one particular area. Tried and tested! And I do understand that you are under great stress so no offence taken. In future if I advise this method I will make myself clearer. With dogs who escape when recently homed, if you can lure them with food and get them eating regularly in one place, it's sometimes possible to get them into a dog trap. We do have one available, but it would have to be watched 24/7. But you may be able to catch Jade without it. The important thing is not to approach he directly, no eye contact, get down on ground or walk slowly at an angle to Jade, and be very quiet. And if you are out searching, take some food she can smell at a distance e.g. a tin of sardines.
tillyboo
jade was also spotted on the Thursday evening ( 21 march) at pye hill / lower somercotes a distant friend said he stopped his van bir she took off . Iknow she wont approach anyone and I ad only ad her for half a hr so im a stranger too

Tillyboo, that's correct what SaffySP says, it's not uncommon when a dog has been sighted in an area. Hope she's home very soon.
SaffySP
Tillyboo, the bbq suggestion is to get the smell of meat wafting around. If Jade's hungry she might be attracted to the smell.
tillyboo
rotti - she suggested I ave a bbq for the dog what is that all about

Sorry to see that JADE SIGHTED is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (50268)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
