Mel,many thanks we are sick to the bones. His other brother is very sick with spinal issues and a tumour at the base of his neck. He misses him so so much . Sags Junior is really sad and so are we the family.

Adele, please may i suggest going to or getting in contact with SDK, sags has been missing for 3 and a half years, he may well ne skinnier than when he left, or have less muscle if he hadnt been as well looked after, also he has been away from his loving family so could be looking very sad.

Eve, many thanks SAGS was 5 years old when he was stolen on Sunday 17.02.2013 on a lovely sunny Sunday morning between 11 :00 am to 11;30 am , he misses his 6th Birthday which was 13.03.2013 and again he misses his 7th Birthday March this year 13.03.2014 at present he is 7 years old. Its hard to tell from picture, will try to get closer to this dog. Frightened to ask too many questions in case I frighten them off are you still on number on poster. Adele how far down the tail does sags marking go. I have seen a white Staffie on the Honor Oak Estate in Brockley, not sure if boy or girl it has dark marking going from base of tail to about half way down tail. Dont want to build up your hopes too much though

A male dog looking very similar to this has this morning been posted on facebay Oxfordshire, described as 9 months old but picture looks much older and has been used for fighting as is quite scarred on face/ears; has patch on base of tail and slight pink edge to right side of dog's nose, possibly blue eyes but this maybe image or damage from fighting, I was suspicious because needed "rehousing ASAP" Woman's name is Syeda Ferdousi Butterworth in Blackbird leys.

Went to the shop and spoke to the owners, it appears that they know the person with the white staffie similar to SAGS, well it was not Sags it's another Staffie that looks similar to SAGS. Was most disappointed, we will carry on looking/searching

The lady who spotted SAGS called me yesterday, saying she is absolutely sure it's SAGS as she was petting the dog and talk to the tall white man in Lewisham, London opposite the the old lady well swimming bathe, that I should go to the pet shop called Supream animal feed as he goes there on a Sunday, so we are hoping to go there this sunday for 10:00 if you can offer any help please let me know.

Happiness. Thanks for yours. Someone has got him. We are still posting him on FACEBOOK/Gumtree and our local vets. We will find him it's just a matter of time . After watching Bondivet Animal programme , an owner had his dog stolen and 2 years later the RSPCA in Australia was able to find the dog. The owner was over the moon. They has already given up on the poor chap. He was 9 months old when he was stolen from their back garden. (he was micro chipped)

Hi Adele, couldnt e-mail the picture to you as there is no provision on Foal Farms site to do that but have managed to speak to them this morning. Apparently they said that they had received a message and e-mailed the caller. Presume this must be you as I didnt give my e-mail address. Sorry it's not Sags they have there. Hi have you looked on the HULA animal rescue website for your dog as there is a similar looking one they call Greg. He was found as a stray, has an eye injury but given the time he's been missing maybe worth a try. Paws crossed. I know he was tagged etc but chips do move. He's been there for a while too.

Can see patch on tail- does your dog have patches anywhere else. Have seen dog similar to picture, near to where I work in Brockley. Cant see any other markings clearly on poster so dont want to build your hopes up yet

Claire, though this might be useful:Police in Surrey have seized 9 dogs and 1 horse from a gypsy site in duns fold the chocolate cocker that was posted on here has been happily reunited with his owner this evening so if your dog has been lost or stolen in the Surrey area try Surrey police ASAP good luck to you all let's have a few more happy endings x

Hi Adele back from auction. Left last poster at auction site sadly printer packed up so had no more. Showed photo to good few people with dogs and left contact number. Had a good look round but sadly no sightings. A few guys in auction said a girl did walk a white staffie round that way but hers is definitely a female. However they are over there three times a week and have promised to look out for him

Hi Adele have given out 50 posters at Stratford docklands railway heading to surrey quays. Also have given posters to contacts in Stratford and bow busgarages. They have most of the routes that way. Finally have sent poster to iPhone of 25 dog walking friends of mine in chingford. Hope this helps to get your baby back

Regarding your posters sometimes the council takes them down as they call it fly posting.Usually the big supermarkets let you put a poster up.If you are short of people to hand out leaflets, I will help you at weekends.

Thats good Adele, I am so sorry I am not near you physically as I would help out postering. Good luck with more postering it certainly can do no harm but hopefully will bring some positive news in. Might be worth checking if possible to see the time of the day this young girl was spotted with the dog and exactly whereabouts. Might be that this person goes for a walk at roughly the same time and perhaps somebody who is familiar with Sags could sit nearby and wait and see!xx

Further on from my post below maybe it would be a good idea to alert vets within the local area just in case Sags gets taken to a vet at some stage as a further thought. Most vets will take a poster and keep for future reference. xx

Hi Adele I have asked Admin if Sag's page can be bumped up in view of latest sighting. I can only suggest postering that area where the possible sighting was and it seems as though if it is him then he is still in the area. Did this person say he was with anyone or was he straying? If he was with someone then maybe the police that you were liaising with could be notified and also the dog warden to keep a lookout for a stray dog if not with anyone. Maybe alerts could be re-sent out to people who live in the area as well again. Admin will pick up my email to them and may be able to offer further advice to you. At least it does go to show that there are still people out there with Sags on their mind and still looking out for him.

Dog ID 61605 Unfortunately it does say neutered but Sags has been missing and he may have been taken in and had him "done". There is a hand over read end I cannot see if there is any brown around that region.

I know some Councils do have this service which is a good thing for owners of lost pet. At the least the owners have a form of closure. I am assuming from this post that you have checked and that Sags is not amongst them?

The animals are kept frozen so that they can be re-unted with their owners. This in not advertised anywhere on the council's website. May be other council have this facility too. she was referring to Southwark Council 0207 525 2417.Since then I have spoken to the team at Southwark and they were marvellous. They only keep the deceassed for 6 weeks. Sags is 7 months gone now.

Just as an aside even though some Found dogs say chiped or not in some cases the chips have been missed on scanners so always worth checking by phoning etc. Will continue to keep checking found ones against Sags xx

Hi Adele sorry i have been away in a very poor signal area. Whilst i can never say that you should or shouldnt get another dog it is always great to hear that a rescue dog has been given a second chance of happiness in a loving forever home. of course you mustnt either feel guilty of thinking that you have forgotten sags. He could so easily have been found by someone who thought he had been a stray and taken him in and is sat on somebodys sofa! Hi Adele, yes poster as wide an area as possible. sometimes if you put posters into a main Post Office sorting depot they will forward onto areas for you. This may be worth checking this out to see if this is possible. I always think the more posters the better.

Claire, I've noticed SAGS has 9810 viewers and am plesed to know others are trying to place him for us. Many thanks. What is also dishearteningis that everytime I put posters in the public area, ie. trees, bus stop, wall people kept on removing them. I have him in the local shops and if I miss 2 days overdue they remove, I just cannot believe just for 50p. What shall we do. We had posters in libraries too. Hi Adele , We know but don't dwell on that news and keep positive. I think somebody may have taken him in and doesn't want to part with him! I think that one day will come if he has to go the vet then the chip will be traced to you. We continue to check all the Staffies that have been placed on this found site and you would be surprised just how many people do try to match up dogs that have been lost or stolen when they know of any that have been found. I do understand that it is very frustrating and extremely emotional to lose a much loved family pet under any circumstances. Please red the story of Lily on the reunited page she was got back after 22 months and so you see it does and can happen. Try to keep positive. xx

I meet with an RSPCA rep yesterday by chance, he tells me that the RSPCA are trying to put a STOP to missing staffie, as these people stole them for fighting, believe me my heart sinks. I thought my poor SAGS, he hasn't got a chance as he is a family pet. We are still hoping they will return him. All the family are very upset to hear this very sad sad message.

Hi Adele if you put them into some plastic sleeves (from a stationery shop)but turned upside down (not the photo!) this will keep them a little drier and will stop ink from running. Sadly I don't think the weather is set to improve this weekend or indeed even into next week from what I can see. You could try writing on the posters at the top something like STILL MISSING AS of 16 May and this may stop councils etc from taking them down for a little bit. Bus shelters and strangely enough telephone kiosks are still good places to poster.

A white staffie was spotted at our local super market, apparantely it was not our SAGS. My neighbour even challenge the local police in SE16 and they indicated to her that they are keeping an eye. I visited the Public House, where SAGS went missing and I was told: there are a bunch of thieves around the area and they will steal anything in sight, especially a premium dog who is well groomed.

Adele, I do wish I had a crystal ball for you. I can only speak for me that if my dog was missing I would never give up hope that one day we would be reunited. You have had your dog chipped and if he has been picked up by someone then I hope that the person would take the dog to a vet at some stage in their life and there the chip would be discovered. This has happened to a lot of people who have lost their dogs either gone missing on a walk or stolen and the "chip" has brought them back to their rightful owners. I guess all you can do is never give up hope but continue to check the website(s) and hope that the phone will ring one day. Some dogs have been returned years later where their owners had given up hope of ever seeing them again. If you look at the story of Lilly Dog ID 23903
It was a year ago that she was reunited with her family but it does go to show that they can get back home with the help of a microchip. We all share the frustrations of everybody whose dog has gone missing and just want to see them reunited xx

The police has confirmed that they do NOT have info on the the individual to follow a Prosecution. However, they did confirm that they will find hime as he is Micro-chipped.

Unfortunately because a dog is not on their list of priorities I would still insist that they do look at the CCTV. This happened to somebody else on Doglost and the minute the police looked at the CCTV they got their dog back the next day. Who knows in your case!

Hi everyoone. No news yet I am stil searching. A number of the public has been informing me that they last saw SAGS outside Wetherspoon Pub on the Sunday 17th February 2013 between 11:15 to 12:00 (Morning) Lower Roaed, surrey Quays, SE16 with a bunch of people drinking. (SAGS was not drinking.) I beleive that SAGS was Stolen, I have informed the Metropolitian Police in London ,they are going to look at their CCTV for investigation as stolen SAGS.

Just checked and the dog found was taken to a kennels and found to be microchipped, so if it is Sags, hopefully he'll be home soon

Went to Southwark Park to see the dog pound situation, and therefore I was too late to go to Greenwich. However, many people on this website has sent various messages to look out for SAGS when they take their dogs for a walk in Greenwich Park. Someone saw a poster of a Found White Staffordshire Bull Terrier pinned up and she took a photo with her phone and uploaded it to Doglost Milton Keynes FB page - Found 3rd March https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152615632405392&set=o.119075948179501&type=3&theater the details on the post are The white dog found in Waterhall Park/Water Eaton/Manor Fields in Bletchley. This dog appears to have a very small black spot on his/her left side - The picture isn't brilliant so i can't see any other markings. Number is on the poster 07401854520 (the photo is not a full body shot just a head shot) p.s. I just looked closely at the photo and in small writing it says HE was wearing a blue collar - SO MALE.

the pics that are on face book are the original doglost pics,,,then just before doglost went down there was a better pic of sags showing hes brown patch (but when u shared hes link on any facebook pages u didnt have the option to show the new better picture)

Adele, can you confirm that Sags was definately lost on the 17th ? have a similar looking dog ( skinny though found on the 16th at Bromley Police Station)

This dog is remarkably similar to Sags but found the day before 16/02 at 11.22 at Bromley Police Station, this dog would have gone to the same kennels and may well be the dog that has sadly been PTS - I have a photograph of this found dog but the description is the same but brindle patch at base of tail ....

By law dog wardens have to keep a register of every dog that comes into its care. We take a photo of every dog as well but each council have different policies.

Owner has rung...the kennels have been really helpful and they now think it was not Sags...as kennels say the dog in question had a scar on its face...owner will update but will be moving Sags back to lost today when people have had time to read this.

Spoke to owner this morning details on chip were up to date ...petlog have a report of owner checking and informing them the day sags went missing.....no other calls until owner rang yesterday to double check. You need to get DDA on board here...anyone have their telephone number or contact details....also I would have thought the vets who put dog to sleep would have also scanned first?

Not all scanners are compatible with all chips...The halo scanner is...Doglost have personally given out a lot of these scanners...tx to kind donations from Cheswell dog club...over the last few months...4paws...It angers me as well...but if we are going to get anything done about this...we have to work together with them and point out the problems we have encountered over the years....and try and get a solution...Believe me..we are...EVERYWORKING hour and beyond...

What a terrible thing to happen there needs to be a much tighter control on these 'pounds etc' There should always be triple checks for microchips as we all know they dont always work and surely this 7 days holding is obviously no where near long enough. .Another dear SBT killed for no reason.Absolutely disgusting!RIP Sags..xxx so sorry for your family xx
