I have just had a long chat with Ranna's owner. There have still been no sightings at all. He has an open mind on whether Ranna was stolen and after three weeks is not holding out a great deal of hope. I'll do some follow-up PR in the new year.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I tried unsuccessfully to talk to Ranna's owner over the weekend without any luck. Back on the case tomorrow.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have pm'd you again, Nik. SARDA (search and rescue dogs) have a base near Dumfries. The contact name is Paul Martin. Have sent you his number. They assist mountain rescue and other groups but may be training in the area. Worth a shot.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have pm'd you, Nik. Black labs are very common up there, and there's a danger someone will assume he's a gamekeeper's dog or with a shooting party (and therefore not think he's lost). Will do my best to think of other contacts. Lived in Galloway till recently although not so near Dumfries.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has anyone contacted the local mountain rescue? They do training in the hills regularly; not just emergency call-outs. I know the Galloway Mountain rescue for example, has dogs too, which might help locate Ranna. The Tweed Valley mountain rescue team is the one which I think covers Eskdalemuir - I have just posted its details on another forum this morning. Email me if I can help with contact numbers.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good thinking, Nik - and it opens up a whole new field in missing dogs searches as there are webcams all over the place though more in towns as far as I can tell.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

LOL Nik spent most of the afternoon on there, interesting, informative ( shows how remote it is ) but is set at some distance and includes a lot of the sky ! It may be possible to see a speck moving but this web cam proved I need to visit specsavers on Monday. But all those beautiful rolling hills......anything is worth a shot I guess.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is a bit of a long shot, but the Met Office has got web cams up there. If anyone fancies monitoring it in daylight, here's the address: www.met-office.gov.uk/weather/europe/uk/webcam/eskdalemuir/index.htmlLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I went to the Ordnance survey site for their getamap service and typed eskdalemuir into the search box. here is link http://getamap.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/getamap/frames.htm Can lab people do me a favour and show the location she went missing from, if it isn't on this frame you can extend the area or go next frame along on the site. Thanks Miss Lurker. Depending on Lost Lab's advice on searchers, we may approach a few large employers to see if they have a volunteer scheme. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have posters been put up by the cemetary, as someone visiting a grave may have seen her, and taken her home. I really feel this is probably what has happened. Hope Ranna is home soon. Jake 21.10.05 xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just been informed of the whole story to do with Ranna..... The owner lost his wife 2 weeks ago and Ranna kept going and laying on the grave where she lies....missing her deeply.... everytime Ranna has been missing this is where she has been found but not this time.... she is nowhere to be seen..... Please ring if you see her.... this is a very remote area!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
