HI- I am so sorry that you still have not found your dog. I have just lost mine a week ago and it feels like years. I hope you have good news soon as he looks such a special dog and has such distinctive colouring. I will never understand people who steal dogs. They could not have been after the reward as they would have been in touch. Hang on in there. One hears of reunions after many years!

HI THERE,I SAW A BLACK AND WHITE BLUE MERLE FOUND IN BRADFORD 12 OCTOBER,ON THE FOUND DOGS SECTION OF UK MISSING PET REGISTER..UPDATE.. A LONG SHOT THAT IT MIGHT BE YOUR BOY.I EMAILED THE FINDER,WHO E MAILED ME BACK,BUT ALTHOUGH SIMILAR,IT APPEARS SOME MARKINGS ARE DIFFERENT,AND THE EYES ARE NOT DARK BROWN.IT HAD A BLACK LEATHER COLLAR WITH SILVER BONES,IN CASE ANYONE ELSE IS MISSING A SIMILAR DOG,I HAVE TWO COUSINS IN THE ALDERSHOT /ASH AREA AND WILL ASK THEM TO KEEP A LOOK OUT FOR YOU.Last edited: 2010-11-04 11:44:07 by Pearl46

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear your lovely boy has been missing so long.
I'm sure you've tried most things by now but jsut wondred if you have looked at the success pages of border collie and other rescue pages, as its a long shot he could have by now been rehomed.........? A couple of links below for valgrays and wiccaweys but here are loads of others worth pursuing. I feel for you I had a beautiful merle girl, they touch your heart.

Sorry Blue is still missing Jacky. I too keep my eyes open - particularly since getting my most recent rescue, also a merle. He's the brightest dog I've ever had and when I first got him I went through this site carefully as I knew he'd very quickly have a hold on the whole family.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There's a blue merle male collie approx 2 years old recently gone in to Lizzie's Barn in South Wales from a pound situation. Looks very similar to Blue but may have more white on him. Worth a look though. ChrisLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That's a shame it isn't Blue. Yes I hate to see all those little faces looking through the bars. It's really upsetting and makes you wonder how all those lovely dogs get there in the first place. Nice to talk to you yesterday and I'll keep looking for Blue. Take care. SueLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi there, Just to let you know I still have Blue in mind whenever I get a call concerning a Border Collie type dog. I recently went out to look at a Blue Merle type dog in Aldershot, also called Blue. The owner had bought him from a 'friend of a friend' and became suspicious that the dog could have at some point been stolen and so called me to see if any dogs had been reported missing fitting his description. Unfortunatley, it definatley wasnt your Blue, and this particular dog wasnt chipped. I have sent a picture of the dog to all my Dog Warden contacts in the hope that if he has been reported missing he will be reunited with his owners. I just wanted to assure you that missing and stolen dogs do often find their way to the Dog Wardens who always make every effort to reunite dogs with their owners whether they are chipped or not (although chipping obviously makes things alot quicker and easier!) and your details will be kept on file until he turns up. Good luck and best wishes. Joanna Quinlan Dog Warden Rushmoor Borough Council, Farnborough.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Donna thanks for the message WE'RE STILL LOOKING we think as Blue is a farm dog ! sooner or later he will turn up as he will not be happy in a closed home although he is a very friendly dog he will either start chewing or niping and end up in a dog pound some were ,at the moment i'am sending out photo's of him to rescue centres all over the country in the hope that some one some were will see him and maybe scan him , my daughter is a vet nurse and they reunighted a cat with its real owner after some time apart just last week because they took the trouble to scan it and found it did not belong to the people that brough it in so heres hoping Jacky Blues Mum Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

hi still no luck infinding Blue unfotunatly a lot of land round here is national trust and mod as fast as I put up posters they take them down again but we have postered shops and vets again Plus the naffi at aldershot but I fear he may have been taken out of the area its now nine months since he went he is still in my mind every day I some times wonder if he will reconize us but Iam sure he will .I was very peased to pick up our local paper the Surrey ad and find doglost in there people round here in Guildford don't seem to realize how many dogs go missing in this area I stoped a lady at our local tesco yesterday who had left her bautiful cairn out side the shop tied up I told her about Blue and that he was still missing even though he was tag and chipped , she was disabled and loved her dog to bits but it had never cross her mind that someone would take her and said that she would leave her at home from now on Jacky Blue's mumLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so sorry that Blue is still missing, he is such a lovely looking dog. It is in your favour that he is chipped and his discinctive colouring makes him stand out. As Sheba said, Chester was re-united with his owner after several months. Let's hope it will not be too long before you and Blue are gazing together at that large hole in the woods!! thinking of both of you. JackieLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I can understand how you feel, even though I haven't lost a dog personally. My friend's dog has been missing since 31 October and I can't stop wondering where she is and if she is OK. But there's always hope and to prove it, visit Chester's page, Choc Lab missing since 2 October (MK45) - being reunited with his owner today! Travellers had him and luckily the right person was there at the right time! He was chipped. So try to keep positive, he's out there somewhere! xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thank you donna for your help, I'am a bit low at the moment as there seems to be no sightings of blue at all .life is very different now ,people think because we have five collies one missing is not important but they are all very differant and I worry all the time about them , I can't take them out in the car now ,one of them would come to the local village shop with me and sit out side ,he can't understand why I go with out him now ,I just don't trust anyone any more .I used to think I was safe when out in the woods with five dogs now I wonder if THEY safe if they go out of sight ,well I will keep on postering round Aldershot in the hope that Blue will be seen sorry to be such a misery .Jacky Blues MumLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Collie Lover, is the picture of Blue on your phone ? If it is, you can send it to me and then I can get it on the site. If it's not, then I'll talk you through getting it on your computer so you can email it to me. Once we've done that, we change the poster, say where he's been spotted and mail it to helpers in Aldershot and Farnham. PM me.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Donna ,unfortunatly the picture I sent to the vets was a pic.I blow up and then took the middle out of it . if I put it on the E mail you get the whole picture and Blue is quite small then I'am afraid I'am not very good at getting photo on the computer .the picture is in the vets in Ash not to far from were your cousin lives if she is passing that way at any time they are very good in there and would show her but I don't want to put her to too much trouble. xx Jacky Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Is there chance of seeing the other photo that you've sent to the vets? Would it be worth swapping it with this one? Can't be sure but if the Ash Vale and Bourne Woods sightings are both sound then it looks as though he's heading home - am I right? You can try luring him in with smelly fish and the other dogs. Remember though, it is possible that he could be quite frightened, even of his own family, by now. If you see him yourself you will get a good idea. Even if someone else has tagged him, so long as all vets/rescues know of him - and I don't doubt that! - you won't have a problem. Still thinking of you and Blue.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So pleased some-one has seen him, worried by how colds it's been but collies are more intelligent than us. If he's getting closer & you haven't done it already could you go back to where he was last seen & scent the area. if the winds in the right direction curiosity should get the better of him. Does the lady that had the horse have barn or tack room that she could put food into.Sorry if you've tried all this already. Being a collie owner myself I totally understand how you feel. A merle is not a common colour-he will get home.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Blue was last seen in Ash Vale near Aldershot 13th of feb By someone from our village as she was passing through unfortunatly she could not catch him ,by the time I got there he was gone ,think the people who took him must live that way and he had got loss ,unfortunatly it is a bit of a Rough area and I hope that some one may be atracted by the reward,at this stage I don't care how much they wont as long as we get him home .the thought of him being there worrys me .blue's mum Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to confirm that Blue is still missing and very much missed by his family and other dogs. There have been no sightings resulting from posters so I think the net needs to be thrown much wider - like NATIONWIDE! Does anyone recollect a young blue merle collie dog appearing in their area since 14th October 2005? - Farms, agility, dog training, parks etc. He is somewhere and he is 'chipped!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can't believe this guy hasn't turned up yet. he's such an usual colour. Are posters highlighting reward-sorry if I'm stating the obvious. It's just that the thought of money sometimes makes people's tongues loose. Have any of local papers run story. I'm too far away to help but own collie & soft spot for all of them. Plus understand how devastated you must be. As he's chipped he must end up in a vet at some point he's got to turn up. If there's anything I can do please let me knowLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poor Blue and poor owners - do the owners know for sure he's been stolen or did they lose him somewhere?? I live near Wonersh (2 miles from Guildford) and walk my dogs in Blackheath woods so I shall keep a look out as blue merles are quite a rare sight. Will also take a picture to my vets to do the same. Fingers crossed he comes home soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

On the dog rescue network website (dogs for re-homing South) there is a young blue merle collie (stray) advertised under the name of OZ, think it is your area (approx). There are photos so have a look...you never know.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Pete the dog, we have already started this campaign, letters have been written to the RCVS requesting this is done. We all need to lobby our local vets so that the microchip/tattoo system works to it's full extentl. Dolly 6.2.05Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am currently trying to get all Vets to scan dogs as a standard proceedure every time they see a patient. This will uncover what i feel is a big void where dogs 'Go missing'- people find a missing dog wandering and assume it is a poor stray with no home and keep it! (criminal offence!) At some point- its is likely to see a vet- but will they scan it ?? I am sure this is what has happened to Blue- probably well looked after by some misguided well wisher,,, will keep look out. perhaps others can help by getting their local vets on board too!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
