Has the owner of Jack been able to view as yet does anyone know?

Hi Mel, I have copied an extract from the animal welfare act re docking,
"The exemption for working dogs allows a dog that is likely to perform certain specified types of work to have its tail docked by a veterinary surgeon. The dog will have to be less than 5 days old and the veterinary surgeon will have to certify that he or she has seen specified evidence that the dog is likely to work in specified areas. Puppies being docked must be microchipped, either at the time of docking or when the vet considers they are old enough "
The vet I worked for always microchipped at the time of docking but some vets do not like microchipping such young puppies, but any dog docked after 2007 in England should have a microchip placed as soon as they are deemed old enough.

Have alerted owner of jack to check photo.

re any chips. If a dog is underweight it has been known for chip to 'hide' behind bone and when dog has put on weight can be located then

if found dec. presume that dog warden aware?
Mel
Puddies my dogs docked (legally) but wasn't chipped when I got her as a 9.5wk puppy in 2010 so not sure if that's accurate. I have the paperwork from the vet in Somerset that docked her and removed her dew claws at the same time when she was about a week old.

Thought that the law states that a puppy that has been docked should also have a microchip so certificate showing who docked etc can be linked with the dog? Does this dog look to be of an age that he could have been docked before the law came in? (before 2007) Last edited: 2013-01-22 19:06:27 by Puddies

Checked on Sam Dog ID 34043
and left a message on it for them to check. But Sam has been missing for a long time and it maybe that the owners no longer look!
ClaireC
Could this be Sabre 31208
?
ClaireC
Have gone through the missing/stolen ones but I cannot trace any similarity. Have you contacted your local police to see if he is registered as missing with them and not forgetting local Dog Warden?
ClaireC
Surely does look like Springer. Could this be on of the stolen ones? Will have a check on the missing ones.

Looks like a springer spaniel?
