BRILLIANT NEWS. So pleased you have lovely Rafa back with you. How dare the grandparents take him, and leave him somewhere for adoption when he belongs to you; thats theft. Please get Rafa microchipped, and if I was you I would keep him away from the grandparents: just in case. Can you give Rafa a great BIG (HUG) from me. Stay safe now Rafa:-)xxx PS Am so happy for you.

I've just read on a Facebook site that Raffa has been located at a rescue centre in Wales after he was left at the vets to be PTS , thankfully the vet didn't PTS :-) , it says he should be coming home tomorrow , so hopefully he will be blue tomorrow :-) x

There is a dark brindle staff cross listed as found in Ellesmere Port yesterday on the Cheshire West dog wardens website. He does seem to have a little white to the paws and possibly white on the chest, but unable to see the markings from the picture. Suspect he may be too much of a cross, but probably worth a look just in case it's him.

That is so sad for you. Really sorry. Would it be worth contacting the citizens advice bureau?? They can help in civil matters. I would have thought theft of a dog was a criminal matter though as you have had the dog stolen from you. Maybe its worth contacting the royal college of vet surgeons to see if they can advise you on what the vet should or shouldnt have to do in these circumstances and may look in to their conduct. So so sorry and will get this postered everywhere i know XxLast edited: 2013-01-15 16:18:52 by houndiegirl

the granparents did not have permission to take rafa, they took him while i was at work, they wouldnt give me the number and told me to 4get him,i had nowhere else to live so they used this against me,they said he could stay at their home with me until i find myself a flat, not being able to settle i contacted the police who said they cnt gt involved its a civil matter bt managed to gt the granparents to pass the number onto me bt a week later, i contacted the vets whom told me he was passed on to fosterers and nw adopted out, and wouldnt tell me anymore infomation, the vet didnt ask 4 any id, just took him,she shouldnt of been able to do this, the only way i can get any more information from her is by sueing her which i cnt afford,i didnt no where else to turn thats why its almost a month its been a slow process getting where i have,my friend suggested i put him on here thankfully,my dog should never been fostered out in the 1st place when he had no ownership id,,doesnt that say he is not the owner to do this!!! i dnt have him chipped or tatt, wish i had now bt hes a house dog, never wanders off past the door..just want to thank every1 for your help,,

Whatever the circumstances your grandparents felt the need to do this, I find this handover reprehensible and unjust. Just the same, the situation is made more precarious as Rafa is not micro-chipped, if he is still in 'foster' or a local 'pound' there will be a chance. Is he tatooed? Will do my best to spread the word. Here's to the power of Facebook, Twitter and more importantly, Doglost! I will do my best to help you.

Did the grandparents take the dog to the vets and asked them to take him and find a new home for him? If they did the vets probably found a rescue place for him and hes therefore not lost. They will know where he is im sure. Just concerned as the new adoptive owners may not want anyone knowing where he is. If no one asked the vets to rehome the dog and he was left at the surgery for other reasons ie treatment then he has been stolen then that is completely different. Thats theft. Just concerned and not wishing to cause any distress or further upset to the old owners.

I've shared on Facebook , has the dog warden been checked out too , although its nearly a month ago :-(
wirral groomer
Hi , have all the rescues been contacted as Staffies are very hard to rehome so if he has been passed to a local rescue chances are he will still be there ! Won't church view tell you where he went ? :-( try heswall animal welfare , Wirral animal welfare , pet aid , and mrs such , they all foster dogs on the Wirral ,
