Polly, good point about half term in Lanacashire. Could other people advise whether it was also half term in all other northern counties and metropolitan boroughs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I will be targeting the regional dailies in the north, not specifically the north east. A list of holiday cottages in the IV22 and IV21 areas we're targeting is also being compiled. This is less likely to yield a response than hotels & B&Bs because cottage owners rarely see the guests.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The couple were believed to be travelling in a silver 4x4, possibly a discovery. There is no discription of the couple, only that they had a North of England accent. Gina xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi got my e-mail ok this couple with the child and dog.was a car or van seen with these people.also it was half term holidays that week for most schools in Lancashire. Is there no description of these people... alfiesmum i am in lancashire so a northern england accent could mean anywhere from manchester bury bolton to morcambe its a huge area but some of the accents are more general to there area. I can post at vets from blackburn to burnley accrington rawtenstall..if anything else i can do plz pm me...pollyLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The hotel info didn't specify whether dogs were allowed, so I just emailed them anyway. When it comes to email cottages, we may know whether dogs are allowed. No responses yet.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nik, just thought, the couple must have stayed somewhere that dogs are allowed....they had a black terrier with them didn't they! GinaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Last time I spoke to owner he said the couple had a North of England accent so I suppose it could be east or west. Have emailed 25 rescue centres and posted details to vets around the north. Gina xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nik, I have spoken to owners.....They say couple could have stayed in Torridon, Gairloch or Shieldaig. Have you got any e-mail addresses for holiday homes in these places? GinaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Miasmum and I have drawn up a plan of action. Gina is emailing the details to all rescue establishments and vets in the north and I'm emailing a stack of holidays places as well as trying for media coverage in Scotland and the north east. We're hoping this might prompt someone to get in touch.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Nik, have spoken to owner and passed newspaper details on to him. He is going to try ringing, although he has already rang newspapers and they didn't want to know. Elderly owners don't have access to internet and are heartbroken to lose Chip. He was picked up by a couple, child and black terrier in a silver 4x4 possible Discovery and they had a north east accent, possibly holidaying in the area. Presumed he has been taken home with them as he has not been handed in to police, dogwarden or rescues. Gina xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Miasmum. If you get any inkling which bit of the north we're talking about them we'll try for some media coverage there. (You may like to PM me any additional details)Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
