Still missing..poor girl. will share again..you never know...
Tazana
So sorry Lenci is still missing - we often think of her x
Rksemple
Thanks for posting this. It isn't Lenci I'm afraid and she is still missing, with absolutely no sightings.
tavasz
the answer from national pet register is inconclusive; I quote:Hi,
Only the person who placed the listing can mark it as being re-united or deleted the listing and as the listing is still on our system then all we know is that the dog has not been reunited as far as we are aware
unquote IMHO this is not the same dog unless someone can provide any further information to the contrary.
tavasz
Abe babe....I have emailed the admin on the national pet register to confirm, as the vizsla under id 56127 looks like a possible wire to me, rather than a smooth. Can anyone confirm with lenci's owners that they have indeed got her back?

afriend has just reported that a vizsla has beenseen running alone in a field off the a1 by Brampton Hut..sorry no postcode...could this be Lenci...not sure it's in the right area...if not I apologise
tavasz
May be worth recirculating her details and making enquiries again with local dog wardens, pounds and local rescues...they have so many dogs going through their hands, you need to make sure she is still fresh in their minds. Sadly not all of them check for the chips or know how to do it properly or have out of date scanning equipment. I would check out anything vaguely brown, red or sandy coloured, of either sex (they have been known to get that wrong too, as well as the breed)...sorry I don't live in the area but will keep sharing within the vizsla community on a regular basis until she is found.
Rksemple
Hi - there have been no more sightings I'm sorry to say. We miss her very much and want her back. Not sure what else we can do for now. Thanks to all who help to share.
tavasz
As there are no more posts...I assume there has been no further news or sightings. have shared once again...come on Lenci...if you are out there your family want you home.
tavasz
GReat news about a possible sighting...will share again.

Thank you Tazana for offering to help with Lenci, it is probably best if you contact the owner direct to find out what areas need to be covered x
Tazana
Do you want help searching the Babraham area this weekend for Lenci? If so - anywhere in particular?
Vizsla55
Too far away to help but we have all our paws crossed Lenci is home very soon. Take care sweetheart and stay safe. xxx
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Bumped due to this possible sighting, fingers crossed this is Lenci and she will be home soon xx
Fionacains
Fingers crossed. I drive this way everyday, and can go out tomorrow morning and have a look. Hopefully hear some more news soon.
Tazana
That sounds encouraging - I've passed the poster onto people that take that route to work - fingers crossed - stay safe Lenci.
Rksemple
Thanks - Wimpole staff all aware and circulated details, also to nearby farms. Hardwicke Arms has publicised and circulated to local shops.
Had message yesterday about possible sighting near Fourwentways roundabout, off Babraham Road. Dog looking like her was running close to the roundabout on road away from Cambridge. Lady tried to catch the dog but she was timid and ran into trees. Waiting for lady to call back to get precise details of exactly when and where and will update when known. Went out there last night and heading up there again today. Will put posters in Babraham area, but any help around there would be much appreciated.
Tazana
Posters circulated & my Farrier, who covers much of South Cambrideshire, has it displayed in his van. Is there anywhere you would like us to search/target? Have you spoken with Wimpole Hall Farm staff?
tavasz
I watched the programme and sadly LENCI was not among those mentioned...but at least it highlighted the increasing problem of lost and stolen dogs and very importantly the good work done by doglost. I am sharing again...we need to keep her loss in people's minds, incase she is spotted somewhere
Rksemple
We are so grateful for all the help we have been getting from you all. I have been in touch with The Alan Titchmarsh show and provided details and photos. Fingers crossed, as there have been no more sightings. Thank you. x

tavasz
I have just learnt that Dawn Maw,GSP Angel's owner will be interviewed tomorrow on alan titchmarsh show, so it should be a big feature about dogs mising, lost or stolen...I hope Lenci's owner has sent through her details...a group of people went to help look for LENCI at the weekend ...thank you to everyone that helped.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Thank you Tazana for helping with Lenci, if you could contact the owner direct for more details of which areas have been covered that would be great.
tavasz I have passed your message on to the owner, thank you x
tavasz
The Alan Titchmarsh Show is running a feature next Tuesday about missing dogs...could you suggest to the owner that they email alan@itv.com with LENCI'S details...I am sure they will be featruing angel that I mentioned so this would be a good opportunity to raise LENCI'S profile as well.
Tazana
I live 10 mins from Wimpole where there has been a sighting and occasionally walk our dogs, including a Vizsla, at Wimpole Hall & have had an eye out for Lenci since she's been missing - I'll continue to look out for her, as are my friends, please let me know if you would like me to look anywhere specific.
tavasz
this is just so sad...I keep sharing as I have a lot of vizsla contacts...the profile of missing dogs has been greatly raised by Dawn Maw whose GSP Angel has been stolen...if there is any more the vizsla community can do to help then please let me know...unfortunately I do not live in the area.

Still no news...how very disappointing! I will share again. It would be worth checking again with the dog wardens..and checking out report on any brown/red/rust coloured dog...sometimes dogs are not listed correctly either by sex or breed
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Good there has been another sighting although not a recent one word is getting around that she is missing.
I'm surprised about Radio Cambs as thay have put appeals out in the past. Have you tried your local newspapers?
Rksemple
Thanks - all appreciated. Possible sighting again in Wimpole area (around Arrington on Sat. 5th) but nothing more recently. Have walked extensively around the area plus put up posters / spoken to many. Grateful to all who are helping. Will go out there again tomorrow but need more recent sightings. How can I get radio publicity? BBC Radio Cambs / Three Counties and Essex said they couldn't do.

I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you. Poor dog, I wish fireworks were banned.

Its worth putting an ad near the till at Scotsdale garden Centre Shelford, also Gogs Golf Club and hand outs to walkers on Gogs.

There was a possible sighting of Lenci out near Wimpole last Wednesday (2nd), unfortunately the owner has only just found out about this.
The owner will be going out that way and searching and spreading the word hoping for another sighting x

I have spoken to the owner and Lenci went missing from the garden when a firework went off, she was seen on 5 different occassions on Sunday night heading south towards Little Shelford, unfortunately the owner only found this out Monday.
The owner has contacted the Dog Warden and local vets in the area.
The owner will be E-mailing a photo to me a.s.a.p
I will E-mail General Information and advice.
Keep safe Lenci until you are found xxx

I will contact the owner.
Admin
Sorry to see that LENCI is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (46923)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
