I have spoken with Simon and it has been decided for now to leave Jazz in our missing list. He feels pretty certain that the reliable report he has had of what was believed to be a deceased Yorkie in the weir just five minutes from where she was last heard barking will of been her but we are not moving her page to Rainbow Bridge all the time he feels there is a slim chance she may still be alive. She has NOT been reunited.

SIGHTED: On the 5th January, On the banking behind Rhodes factory by passer by. Been up and checked for a 4th time with no success. How would you tempt a hiding, and possibly sickly dog on an area of land that big? 03/02/2012: We can now confirm this sighting as a hoax.Last edited: 2013-03-02 22:15:56 by simonjonnemeth

Note: The other dog (Ozzy) was found behind the factory, in the vast woodland that is the remains of the old railway junction and engine sheds that once served the now defunct Wakefield power station. The woodland is almost half a mile long and 1 sixth of a mile wide. Also, we can't leave out the area of land that was once occupied by the power station which is about 20% bigger again. This land is riddled with uncovered manhole covers, some and many of which are 3-4ft deep, hidden by shrubbery and tall grass. In the power station, some of the manholes were huge water tanks around 10-15ft deep and are now completely uncovered (we found at least 2). This land is very dangerous and if she is there, she needs finding.

jazz was last seen entering the factory grounds of the Joseph Rhodes Groups along with the owners other dog who was later found.
The factory have been very helpful and have allowed the owners to search on their land which in parts has many old and disused sheds etc.
The owner found the other dog on the far side of the factory grounds on a strip of grassland. To get there he must have got under the factory grounds fence and crossed a railway line. The area he crossed from behind the factory grounds is riddled with holes and uncovered man holes and holes that are hidden by grass etc. Although her owners have searched the area Jazz could be trapped In one of these many holes.
We don't know if Jazz was still with him when he did this however when the owner found the other dog he thought he could hear Jazz barking somewhere in the distance but this of course may not have been her.
I have discussed with her owners son that we need to check out with Railtrack that they have had no reports of any dog fatalities in the area . Not a nice thought but one that sadly has to be considered .
However Jazz may well be trapped, wandering lost or have been picked up by someone so if any local helpers could assist with postering or searching we would be very grateful.
