Hi Katie, thank youy so much for the info and I will paste onto Angel's page (if you haven't already done so). I am so pleased that your aunty is progessing in the right direction now. Happy New Year to you all and thank you once again for your help.
Katie
Hi Claire/Reilly,
We called yesterday and left a message and this morning we have had a call back from the officer who was at the scene and he told us the dog was a black and white lurcher type dog, he didnt have any other info. The incident number doesnt contain any details about the dog, sadly the officer who compiled it didnt think it was necessary info - it just says 'a dog' :(
I think its safe to say it was NOT Angel.
My aunt is doing well, I hope you get some info on Angel x

Hi Katie, trying to help Angel's owner Dog ID 45978 but would your auntie have a police reference number from her accident? Guess this would be used in her motor insurance claim for her car. The police have told Reilly that there was no reported incident of a dog involved in RTA! It maybe that she is asking the wrong department of the North Yorks police. It would be very good to rule this dog out in her quest to find her beloved pet. I sincerely hope that your antie is feeling a lot better from this nasty incident. Merry Christmas to you all. Thank you for any help you can give Reilly. x

Katie
Yes Reilly, it was North Yorks police.

Hi Katie thank you for posting about this. I hope your Aunt makes a full receovery and isn't too traumatised. I have called the Highways Agency to try to find out more about the dog to see if it is Angel, but they apparently have up to 15 days to respond, so I will try to get the info from the police. Was it North Yorks Police who attended?
ClaireC
Thank you Katie. I have posted on a dog lost in or very near that area. I sincerely hope that your auntie is OK for what must be a very traumatic experience and also very kind of her to consider the owner of this deceased dog.
Katie
(I didnt realised my comment had been cut short above).
Breed etc unknown as my aunt's car was severely damaged and she wasnt informed of the details as she had to be cut free from her car.
She has reported it to local police but we dont have any further details, except that the dog is deceased. If you think this was your dog I expect you can get more info from the traffic people or dog warden? (or call and find out who cleans up?)
My aunt would like to extend her condolances to the owners.
Looking at the state of her car (a photo) we are amazed she walked away with only cuts/bruises.
