To everyone who has been following the posts concerning the little terrier cross that was involved in an rta on m55 last thursday. As you all know, we were trying our best to locate the owners of this poor little dog to obviously give them closure. We have tried everything we possibly can to find them. I have also spoken to Ian Chadwick at Oakhill vetinary Practise who assures me that like us they have made many attempts to find the dogs owner, but to no avail. Nicki and myself have one more lead to follow up tomorrow and if that proves of no help, im afraid we can only then accept closure. I would like to thank everyone who has helped with their suggestions and kind comments, and it is so sad that the dog and owner could not be re united. Thank you to Oakhill for agreeing to hold the body giving us more time in our search.
Can i just add that Todd is still missing from PR4 so please please look out for her. Thank you again to everyone concerned.

How sad - hope the owner is found

sadly during our search for Todd missing from pr4 we were alerted to a small terrier that had been hit on the motorway on thursday 22/11/12 between 9.30-10.30 am. the highways were alerted and we were told they had been out and no body was found. however todds owner was notified on friday that the poor little dog was still there. todds owners went to the mway and recovered the body.. the dog was taken to oakhill vets to be checked for a chip but nothing. the dog was not wearing a collar.on the day before we were informed that another vets surgery had contacted oakhill to ask if anyone had brought in a small terrier that had gone missing from kirkham near the motorway, but the vet did not take any contact details. i have been ringing round many many vets, pet shop, council trying to find out who has lost this little dog. i was told that the vets would ring round to try and find out who called them in the first place, but out of all the vets i rang not 1 said they had been contacted by oakhill. i have today red tagged the dog so we have until monday to try and find the owners. i have also lodged a complaint with highways as regards their report saying no body was found obviously some one couldnt be bothered. i have placed an ad in the lep and the blackpool gazette also
