Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

RIP CHLOE

A message from Chloes family.

As you know from my call its sad news. Geraldine found Chloe this afternoon floating in the ditch that crosses our drive, only a few yards from where she last saw or heard trace of her, as she ran off splashing joyously through the puddles etc. The ditch in which she was found goes through a culvert under our drive about 20 feet long and it was on the other side of the drive that she was found. At the time of her disappearance last Friday the ditches were swollen beyond bursting point with what and as out land is very flat were only flowing slowly, if at all. She must have gone headlong into the deeper water and being taken by surprise submerged immediately and probably went straight into the culvert which would explain why when Geraldine got there and could not see her there was no sound either. As the water level has subsided and the water flowed normally she has now been carried through the culvert to the other side.

We are heartbroken at our loss and the only crumbs of comfort are that her end must have been quite quick and we now know where she is so that we can give her a decent burial. She has had a bath to remove all the dirt so now looks her beautiful self again.

We are immensely grateful to all that have helped with our search and despite there sadness of this it is really touching to know that there are so many kind people around
.
Best wishes

Andrew

Sadly I have news that today Chloe was found and reunited with her owners, lost to the flooded areas close to home. Chloe loved the water, her body found close to where she had last been seen playing.

The owners called anxious that everyone that had been so kind to help with the search for Chloe be informed.
They will be e-mailing me an update which they have asked be shared with Doglost.

Such sad news, my thoughts with Chloes family. Run free sweet girl xx

Lilybear

Just had a chat with owners, they are so very worried about their Chloe, a friendly little dog. They have been very busy putting up posters in and around village. They did notice a small white vw car parked up close by to where Chloe walks today between 2-2.30pm. They wondered if perhaps a doglost helper? They had hoped to say hello, were sorry to have missed you. A very rural area. Fingers crossed for sightings soon. Will share all I can. Stay safe Chloe.

Walking along track back to home with owner...ran off across field possibly after deer. Home is half way along and on south side of Ashton Road between Minety and junction with B4696 for Ashton Keynes Chloe is only 7 months old.

How was she lost?

Spoke to owners early afternoon and have now leafleted all main places in Upper Minety. Also spoken to lots of doggy people walking in Minety and Upper Minety who have taken leaflets and will spread the word. Many roads flooded and impassable from Cirencester...had to go long way round! Hope Chloe finds her way home soon.
