Yes blacks can turn a rusty brown. Browns are rarely seen and chocolate, the more common 'brown' will never have a black nose as this girl does. Thanks for noting the colour change and hopefully she will be reunited soon

Also, that dark area on her back was because she had rolled in something icky - look at the rest of her body for colour.

I notice someone updated the colour - thanks for that. I did find a website that lists various colours for Shar Pei's including brown: http://www.spcgb.org/page.php?page_ID=126 - I don't want her to be missed though, so brown black works.

Really - the black turns this colour? She's the same colour as my choccy lab and he's quite light choccy. Is there no such thing as a brown Shar Pei? Sorry, I don't know the breed....
Thanks for reposting :)Last edited: 2012-11-02 18:44:05 by awpvicki

I'm not being pedantic but could you amend colour as black? The black will turn this colour but the owners will be searching for black. I hope she is re united soon, I am cross posting where I can

I hope someone is missing this gorgeous little girl! The dog warden did check for a chip and couldn't find one, but as she was timid, the dog warden didn't want to push her too much straight away - she said she'd check again later. I called the kennels this morning and they said she is doing fine and is in good health. They will keep her for 8 days before putting her up for rehoming. I will check on her progress again in a few days. I have put the poster on facebook and asked all my friends to share with their friends and friends of friends. Hopefully she will get home soon.
Edited to add: I have also reported the find to the local police station.Last edited: 2012-11-02 12:08:34 by awpvicki
