DogLostAngus
Hi Angus,

I apologise if I have failed to update everyone. Poppy was found almost immediately by a lady who lives a couple of miles from our home. Her collar had been pulled off (she is extremely small, even for a border terrier) and so the dog warden was called. We didnt know this as we spent much of the evening until almost midnight looking for her with torches in the parkground where we walk her twice a day.
When we returned home we started the calls to local animal rescues etc and discovered a dog had been found and taken to a local rescue centre that evening. By the time we called the dogs were asleep and so they were unable to confirm whether it was our dog.
I had one of the most distressing nights of my life. But it was Poppy. We have subsequently had her and our other dog chipped and some improved engraving on their tags and new collars. I am extremely grateful for your interest and for the dedication of all those who helped Poppy be returned to us. (someone seems to have left open the gate in the park land where we walk her).
I have lost my confidence in allowing her off lead after having a shock to the system but after now looking at gps as I dont want to stop her being a dog.
A happy ending! Many thanks
