Good for you looking after him xx
caring bev
i am the founder of said dog and i can let you know first hand of my own personal opinion. i approached the dog in the street and he let me stroke him and pick him up and carry him across the road to my house. he was here for 6hrs i had family, including grandchildren, round at the time he wasnt scared at all in fact he let everyone stroke him and loved a belly rub DID NOT show any signs of being abused the rest of the time he slepted next to us in the front room.in my opinion this dog is cared for and loved not frightened or abused he made everyone smile that met him.

We just have to assume that he does care for his dog if he stole money to get him back. Good luck to the little old dog xx

I so hope the welfare of the dog is priority for the owner. I am wondering if it was the stress of all this and anger at the authority's charges that brought that behaviour on? However, this kind of behaviour does always worry me. He did collect his dog, so we have to assume he does love him as often, especially when they are old, some owners don't collect. So that in itself has to be a good thing. At least this dog is not in a pound as his future would have been uncertain due to his age and health. However, like everyone on here, I would love to be certain. x

Any n ews of the dogs owner yet? Paws and fingers xd.

I have spoken at length with the finder and she has said that the dog looked well cared for and showed no signs of fear, it was not hand shy and when her family arrived it was good with the grandchildren and had no fear of the men,in fact,he rolled over for a belly rub! The dog is partially sighted, he was well mannered and ate normally.xx

poor dog-how worrying. i hope the owner wont take his feelings out on the poor dog. ive recently lost my dog(through illness) at 16 and at 17 that poor dog needs lots of tlc.

Thankyou Hornchurch Rescue, I've left a message with the DW and am waitng to hear from her. Not good if the dog was shaking when it saw it's owner but as you say,we can't judge until we know the full facts.

I'll have a chat with the Police to try to get info about the poor old dog. Can't assume anything with regards to care of the dog without a visit and evidence but worrying obviously.

The owner visited the pound and was aggressive threatening the (small female) warden. Extremely intoxicated he drove off hitting a customers car. The dog was shaking when he appeared. He returned with the fee saying he had to steal it and has taken the dog. The Police have bee informed. This happens more often than you think!

This is disgusting, the fees will be more by now, I had also heard finder had put on Facebook then owners where found! What can we do to help because fees will keep rising??

Oh dear. I wonder if this is their standard fee or if something can be removed. I'm sure it could under these circumstances. The way this was handled seems to lack some compassion. If owners are OAPs they could ask council for a discretionary discount out of the goodness of the council's heart, maybe? I don't know how much discretion DW would be allowed to give now that he has booked the dog in. I would definitely ask for a breakdown of fees. Priority is obviously getting the dog home, poor old boy. So glad he has been located and he will get back to owner if SanBarn has anything to do with it. Good luck!

I have spoken to the finder and this is what I have been told, finder put dog on FB to try and find owners and also informed DW.DW collected dog at same time as finder and owner made contact. Owners had been out searching, the dog had never got out before and is 17 years old. Owners contacted DW and was told they would have to pay £125. Owners do not have this sort of money. I will phone the DW in the morning and see what the situation is.xx
SanBarn
I have left a message on the above number enquiring if this dog is with finder or DW. x
