Absolutely wonderful to hear how Tammy is getting on and gaining weight and I am sure in time those legs will be much better. Bless you all and a great start to the new year for Tammy with a new family where she is loved and cared for. Julie x

I am so happy for Tammy and really pleased that snowwhite has her. Saw earlier on that she had offered to give her a home. Hopefully some of her in her forever home soon. Well done everybody she could have ended up the same way as poor old Prince god bless his soul xx

Just to let everyone know that Tammy has been in her new home for 1 month. She gained 4kgs in the first 2weeks, loves playing with her two new friends. She is now allowed off the lead and loves running. back legs are still a little weak but improve every day. We love her to bits

DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
Yes a little joke about her weight bless her. The fact she has done so well is down to the dedication of the people who have been looking after her so well it must be absolutely wonderful to see her getting on so well now but without their care the story may have turned out differently. Bless you all. I am sure Tammy will find a wonderful home where she will be loved and cared for for the rest of her days. Julie x

Thank you SOOO much to those involved in this lovely girls rescue/recovery..totaly different to how this dear girl was found clinging on to life by the sounds of it..luckily she has pulled through enough for a bit of a joke about her weight ...still,30 kgs is still light for a dog of her size...praying this gorgeous girl finds the best forever home that she deserves...never ever to see them kind of days again....Good Luck Tammy, cant wait to hear you have moved on to your much happier life.XxxLast edited: 2012-11-14 18:15:41 by Shereen

Well done to everyone concerned in Tammy's welfare. So pleased she's improving and gaining weight. Like someone said earlier it would be lovely to see a recent photo of her in her forever home xx
snowwhite
Hi really pleased that Tammy is doing well. Reading your message, it sounds as if she is going to stay at the rescue forever!!Or does it mean she has already found a home, before she goes to the home?? Does that mean everyone who
offered a home to her, should give up hope?? Would really like to know. Thxs snowwhite.

Hi, I have been in touch with DW and she said that she will keep me posted about this poor pup. Very interested in giving her a very good home as company to my other GSD, also a rescue and now a PAT dog. Please let me know where she goes. Thxs
BettyBoo
Hi Claire. Yes that would be great if you could let me know which rescue she goes to. Thanks
claire
hi bettyboo tammy carnt go anywhere until she is given a clean bill of health by the vet, then she will be passed to a rescue so if you are interested in her we can always let you know which rescue she goes to xx
mathers22
Does anyone think there is any connection between the 2 GSD's found in such a bad state. The other is Prince they are both South West but different postcodes?
mathers22
I am so pleased Tammy is doing well she sounds a lovely dog. Looks like she could have a home already if not claimed. Well done BettyBoo I would have loved her too but I have two geriatrics. Please keep us all informed about her progress etc. Well done in bringing her back into the land of the living xx

Hi I was so moved to read about this beautiful dog. This is similar to how I ended up with my dog. (arrived at the rescue malnourished, same sort of story, found wandering near collapse) My question is, what will happen to Tammy? Will she go to a rescue? I would be very interested in adopting her but I'm not sure what the procedure is.

I'm so pleased that Tammy has improved and hope she finds a lovely home with someone who really cares, I just wish that I had room for one more!

dont suppose any way it could be Teddy 35377? I just dont know what her coat and or colours would look like after all this time if she had been poorly treated?

Details posted up on my FB page & local doggy pages.

Admin, just a thought to pass onto DW, the fact that she is so underweight and was covered in mess and had collapsed, if she doesn't respond to treatment it may be worth asking the vets to check to see if she is suffering from EPI, Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency, my own dogs suffers with this and when researching it I found that it is very common in GSD, just a thought as she is so thin, and this is one of the signs, they can eat and eat and not put on weight and they suffer with very very loose stools :-( hope this poor little baby is on the mend soon xx

mathers22
How sad but onwards and upwards now Tammy - I am sure you will get a wonderful home with someone to love you like you deserve. Hope we will all be informed as to what happens - sure we will. Well done in getting her to the right place before it was too late xx

It lifts my heart to know that this beautiful girl will cared for until she is back to full health. Please can Doglost contact me if the dog warden needs to find a new home for her as I am involved with a dog rescue in bucks so I am sure we can find a forever loving home.

I am so sad to read this bless you for taking care of her and I so hope she will find a wonderful loving home where she will be loved and cared for - no dog should have to endure what she has obviously been through. Please give her a kiss from me. Julie x

message from dogwarden...
On Saturday the 29th September a German shepherd was found collapsed on a road in Overton RG25 area (this is just outside Basingstoke) she was rushed to a vet and found to be severely malnourished covered in mess, her weight was half what it should be, she has impaired vision in one eye and I am not convinced she can see really any better out of her other eyeL

After a few days in the vets on a drip and her fur shaved she has now come into my care.

We have named her Tammy she is approximately 4/5 years old she has no microchip.

Tammy is slowly started to recover and is being fed every two to three hours how she came to be in this state only she knows.

Could you add her to your listings just in case she has escaped from somewhere or someone, she could have been dumped in this state???????

Tammy will be in my care until our vet is happy for me to pass her on.

This dog has the loveliest nature and all she wants is to be loved and cuddled she has actually made tears come to my eyes.
