Don't worry just keep those poster refreshed if you can - some one will remember who had tham & the vets will certainly come into contact with her at some point so keep tham updated too. I'm always on the look out - there's another jr missing in our area now too Take Care & don't give up hope Nikki xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Nikki. I hope that one day you find Jester. When I contacted the police about the CCTV they were very dismissive and said 'it doesn't work like that' and that the officer in charge would be reviewing all the CCTV - which I don't believe for one second. I only hope that whoever has Molly takes good care with her and I will never give up hope of one day getting her back. My neighbour cannot recall any further details of the truck unfortunately.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi - regarding the Bourne sighting - ask the police (because you have an incident number) if you or some one on your behalf can have access to the CCTV footage of the centre of Bourne (see if you can get the lady to give you a date & time) it's really worth a go because the Grantham police kept an eye out for me for a rottie that had been spotted in town !!!! Please give them a try - you have the incident number push for the CCTV footage - re-poster all the pubs & market stall holders - also I was speaking to a journalist today who said the Stamford & Rutland Mercury does a Bourne edition so really push them to get an article done & a photo. Speak to James for the Bourne edition. Don't give up - just keep pushing & if you get more info9 on the truck / colour / size etc..... that would be a help. Always thinking of you & every journalist I speak to I mention Molly too. Take Care Nikki xxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Bugs and Nikki. The Local (Bourne) did a really good prominant artical on Molly and I got one phonecall from a dog loving lady who swears she saw Molly with two youths in Bourne town centre. Lots of people were going up to her and making a fuss, saying what a sweet little dog she was. She looked happy and well cared for. But what can you do? I already have posters up in Bourne and I have no idea where these boys live. If it is Molly, it is likely they quite innocently bought her. The lady who phoned said that she would let me know immediately if she saw her again as she goes all over Bourne with her job. Thanks Nikki regarding the sighting. You never know. She has to be out there somewhere.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still thinking of you & I', always looking out too. I've spoken to dog wardens in surrounding areas too to keep an eye out - I still believe that if you continue to poster the vets, police & dog wardens & rescues in Lincs she will turn up. Don't forget to put posters up in builders centres such as Jackson Shipley etc... Grantham, Bourne, Stamford etc, flatbeds are used a lot in the construction industry etc.... even if he doesn't go to one of these stores someone that knows him & knows that he's just got a dog may well do. I'd even be tempted to fax the poster to all the building firms in the vicinty of bourne, spalding, stamford etc... (start with the yellow pages) send them a picture of molly, where & when she went missing etc & description of the truck & driver - you never know he may work for a local builders firm who may have seen molly with him. Yes I'll get in touch with him and see if he remembers anything more. He said he thought the cab was white but most of the truck was out of sight. I think she was taken around 10.15 am, but will check as we were out searching most of the day. I think the tip off he gave us regarding the house in Corby Glen is a red herring. I think he feels so bad about not going over and checking the dog in the cab (he would have seen her tag) that he saw what he WANTED to see when he said he thought he'd spotted her. They do have a jack russell but it is mainly white with a bit of brown on it's face. I will quiz him about that sighting again too. A psychic friend of mine said that she felt that he knows where she is and that she's "in the family" with children who love her and play with her, and that she is very happy. But I really don't suspect him of anything underhand. He had his own border collie pup stolen and sold for ?20 by his own daughter! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can you ask the witness if there was anything strapped onto the flat bed part of the lorry please ?. Also if the cab was white, what colour was the flatbed part ? & did the flatbed have any sides on at all or any kind of tail gate ?? & what time & day did she get taken Nikki xxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Mollys mum, i have just read your post about the police, when our little JRT was taken we had a tip off that he could be at a house and they police went round there with a warrent and a photo and identified the dog, which unfortunately was not ours. As you have a crime number i would call the police and tell them about the tip off, they obviously believe she was stolen or otherwise they would not have given you the number in the first place. Molly is a beautiful JR, i hope she is home soon. If you would like to talk, please do not hesitate to call. Jake 21.1.05 xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You must get in touch with Lincs FM, BBC Radio Lincolnshire & SAGA FM tell them Jesters Mum suggested it & aklso the Grantham Journal Leane Simons, the Lincolnshire Echo & Stamford & Rutland Mercury. If you want help getting them interested just let me know. Nikki xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Don't punish yourself, a chip is no guarantee that your dog will be scanned !!!!!!! It does help if she is picked up by a dog warden who scans or goes to a vet that scans as standard which is something that we are fighting for but it is by no means standard practice. If the man who picked her up was a decent human being, you wouldn't even have been in this position so stop blaming yourself & lets get her back. Nikki xxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The other thing is go to the Post Office in Corby Glen & ask to put up a poster there and ask which is the house where the lady does rescue work - they will show you which one - if that phone number isn't correct. NikkixxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Nikki, that would be great. I stuck the posters up on all the telegraph poles in the street and talked to another JR owner who lives there. She was going to keep an eye on the house. If it is Molly (and I won't get my hopes up), then I think we will get her back. But I really don't think it will be her. Right now though it's the only feedback we have had.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks for the suggestions. I had a little stake out this morning and saw nothing, but the car was still there. Will go and put posters up in the street - good idea. There are already posters in the village and some of the neighbours in the street said they had seen them but this couple hadn't so maybe they are just panicked?? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

molly's mum - I personally would just have a little stake-out, if they have molly they'll come out sooner or later. Also talk to the neighbours of this man, I'm sure they will keep an eye out for you if they are dog lovers. And speak to the postman and ask him to wach too. Good luck. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Molly'smum:
Just had a phone call from our neighbour who said he saw a dog in a red car sat on a man's knee that looked just like Molly. The man was not the one who took Molly and lives in the next village (Corby Glen). Our neighbour saw this man go into a house and gave us the address but wasn't sure of the number. We went round there and knocked on all the doors in the row, none had seen the dog, but one couple with a red car acted really suspiciously when we talked to them. They were not friendly like the rest and denied seeing a dog like Molly. We rang our neighbour back and he described the man to a tee. Now I don't know what to do. We can't demand to search their house and the police would only go round and ask the same questions as us. It may not even be Molly. They could have a similar dog, but wouldn't you think that if they did, they would have said something like "Oh that's just like our Suki, I do hope you find her". Any suggestions what to do? I daren't get my hopes up that it's Molly, and I can't go harassing them. The other neighbours who had all seen her posters will surely see her and phone us if they do? I'm going to keep going round there in the car and seeing if I see anything.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Nikki, I will try that tomorrow. I suppose I have just been thinking what a slim chance it is that he happened to stop for petrol at one of those garages, but you have to try everything and it may be the thing that brings her home. I will try the police again too but theynever answer the phone at Bourne Police station. The woman on reception couldn't care less when I reported her stolen. I had to break down in tears before she would file a report - accompanied by impatient sighs!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Also get back on to the SKDC Dog Warden & ask her to give you the name of the Sleaford rescue place or a contact phone number. They don't like giving it out but unless you ring them & ask them to keep an eye out they won't. Get posters up in Bourne as well. Cheers Nikki xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Molly'smum I handed out lots of her posters on sunday and I'm taking some to my dog club tonight as well. Don't forget to go to the truck stop fillingstation office and ask about the lorry & the cctv footage, also the cafe there. Also go into the 3 garages on the A! roundabout and ask about CCTV footage there too. They all use it especially the one on the right because it has the travel lodge too. Phone the forestry commission, I'll e-mail you the number later and ask Cheryl to ask her crew to look out for that truck at Twyford woods & also BOURNE WOODS. Also phone Bourne police and ask them about cctv footage of the centre of town on that day because if indeed he went to Bourne there is only one way into town from Colsterworth (unless he diverted to stamford. Start with these & I'll think of some more. I know it sounds like a lot but you have to do it now whilst the CCTV is still available. Please post how you get on and if you need some back up I know most of the people in the garages so I'll come with you if you need me to. Take Care Nikki xxxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I've got a better description of the man. The truck was a white flatbed truck. The man was very tall 6ft 2 - 3 with brown hair, possibly thinning on top. Whispy looking. Looked to be in his 30's. Probably won't help that much but who knows?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Your words are so true Mollysmum, it is one of the most awful things that can happen to you especially if you truly care about your pet. The people who take our pups sadly don't seem to care very much at all and it adds to the heartbreak. I only hope their actions turn on them a thousandfold. Thank you so much for all your support. I have noticed I have actually sent the wrong photograph of Molly as she is only 5 weeks old in this one. I have emailed the correct one to Jayne. Thank you Nicki for coming to collect my posters. It is such a relief to have found this site. I listed Molly on ebay in desperation and people have been so helpful on there offering to post Molly's details on all the forums they participate in and to pass the word around. I am absolutely sick with worry. She really was my little ray of sunshine. My husband called her "Shadow" as she followed me everywhere. I really cannot function properly at all at the moment. The grief and worry is quite unbelievable. You never think this can happen to you. Stealing a dog is second only to stealing your child.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Ok got the posters for the Dog Day in Oakham - If any one knows who took Molly then tell them that very soon she'll be on every telegraph pole and every shop notice board & eyes are looking for her everywhere so it would be better to hand her in NOW to a vets or police station or RSPCA or dog rescue rather than face prosecution for THEFT BY FINDING. Hi I've spoken to owner tonight and given her numbers to ring. I'll ring radio & newspaper chaps tomorrow along the lines of 2 go missing from Twyford woods ETC...... (JESTER & MOLLY) I've asked for truck details too. At least you have a crime number which is excellant. Now start postering at Twyford woods, Morkery Woods & Bourne Woods and everywhere in between. When my printer is up & running I'll help over this way too. If I get the chance I'll drop by Colsterworth & collect posters from you for Saturday. E-mail me your phone number too I forgot to take it. Take Care Nikki xxxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
