Gillian, thank you for offering to come out too. Sadly, when I got to Kirsten's parent's house, they had already had the sad news.
Jasper was very lucky to have such a caring owner and loving family who pulled out all the stops to find him. It's very sad that their efforts did not reap happier rewards. Best wishes to Kirsten and her family. RIP little Jasper.x

I thought i'd start calling vets around my area. Cathcart and Winn have put his details in there book and they said to call Tree tops kennels in Guildford and dog wardens use them sometimes. I called but got no reply. Its getting late so they may have closed. I'll give them a call tomorrow.
Gillian
Hi,
I can come out and have a look if you need somebody else as well.
My cat went missing for about 10 days. I put posters through all the doors around our area.
A builder knocked on the door to say he had just popped into a vacant flat that he was planning on doing some work to. He saw my poster walked into the lounge of the flat and there was my terrified cat. Turned out neighbours had moved out the same day my cat went missing and we can only assume that he got in when they werent looking. Has anybody moved or have you asked the neighbours to check their sheds etc.
Its really strange how he's just gone.
Let me know if i can help
Gill

The garden is not big but has alot of mature shrubs and trees, which Jasper loves to roam around in. I'm pretty convinced he is not there as we have searched thoroughly thinking the same thing. Maybe a fresh pair of eyes would be a good idea. Could you give me a ring to discuss? Thanks
HelperLost Pals Surrey Heath.LostPALS
It doesn't sound ridiculous but it is odd. The area where your Parents live and where he went missing isn't known for high levels of dog theft locally, and if the garden is not overlooked, it would be hugely bad luck if someone happened to pop into the garden for whatever reason, and then spotted little Jasper. If they had seen him out and about being walked, would they have known which house he was in? I think most dog theft is opportunist, especially people's pets from gardens, rather than premeditated. And usually those pets which do go missing must have been spotted by the thief as they are passing, which couldn't have been the case here, as the garden is not overlooked. I know you have searched the garden several times but do you think there could be any other place he might be within its boundaries? Not knowing how big their garden is, but could there be any rabbit holes beneath shrubs or anything where he might have got stuck? We searched for a dog once who had been lost in a park, and who had got himself wedged in some brambles like a cork in a bottle. We were within feet of him twice and he made no sound at all. It was only two days later that someone heard him whimpering, and loads of people had walked right past the spot where he was without knowing he was there.
If Jasper was only out in the garden for ten minutes, it does seem odd that someone could have known he was in there, without being able to see in, and take him, within that time. I don't know your Parent's situation, and how mobile they are, but if you want a fresh pair of eyes to search the garden again with a view to looking for rabbit holes etc, I am happy to do so, if you and they would like me to. I'm only about half a mile away from there. I'm sure Saza or another DL person would be happy to help too, if you wanted us to?
I'm not suggesting for one minute that he can't have been stolen, just that it does seem weird that someone could have taken him in these circumstances. Maybe other DL folk will disagree with me? But happy to look again if it helps. x
kirsten2174
Gillian, thank you for contacting the preloved person, thats really helpful. The more info on twitter and facebook the better- thank you.
kirsten2174
Thanks everyone for your continuing support. Pearly Jones I have been to Millbrook and dropped off jaspers info, but will see if I can get some to the other 2 rescue centres you suggest. Thanks. I will try to regularly check the internet ads. Noone can see into my parents garden, its not overlooked, only by trees but I wonder if someone saw him out when walking? I know it sounds ridiculous but I don't see what other options there are. I've put up posters locally so hopefully someone would see them if they have him somewhere local, also done a leaflet drop to surrounding streets. I've also checked anyone on the street with a pond/pool and he is not in any of them. I'm still hoping that he will return. I'm now home in Nottingham and it makes it even harder, but trying to keep up the momentum.
Gillian
Somebody is advertising on preloved wanted an older mini schnauzer so I've sent them the details about jasper and asked tHem to check it out if anybody offers her a black and silver. Also added to Facebook and twitter.
HelperLost Pals Surrey Heath.LostPALS
It's also worth checking the ads in Gumtree regularly. Have you been in touch with the rescue centres that are local to Camberley? Battersea Dog's Home have a centre in Old Windsor which is close: http://www.battersea.org.uk The RSPCA have one at Chobham http://www.rspca-millbrook.org.uk/ and I believe there is still the Pine Ridge Dog Sanctuary in Ascot 01344 882689.
HelperLost Pals Surrey Heath.LostPALS
Rest assured we will keep looking Kirsten. DL folk are very determined! I just wonder whether, as he is so small, someone could only have seen him if they peered over the fence? If so, that suggests that they were walking past, rather than driving, and spotted him. Especially, if he is not actually normally resident at your Parent's house, and so had not been seen regularly in the garden. And if that is the case, then that may well indicate that whoever took him may be local? And he may still be close by? Kids maybe? Have you contacted the local church near your parents? I'm sure they would let the congregation know he is missing, and they would mainly be local people.
Jan S
Hate putting this but are there any ponds/swimming pools around this area that need checking ?
kirsten2174
Thanks for the help Pearly Jones, although the garden is secure the gate was closed but not locked and someone could have got in there. I have checked the whole garden 3-4 times and there is nowhere else he could have got out and he is not stuck anywhere. Jasper is a really sociable and people orientated dog and if he was out wandering someone would have seen him, he was also only out in the garden for 10mins before being called in so couldn't have got far in that time. Thank you for all your continuing support, I really appreciate all the posters being put up.
Saza, I don't think he could have got near to the railway line and it is down a steep bank surrounded by houses so don't think he could have got access- good thought though, thanks. I have checked with highways agency as M3 is nearer but no reports of any dogs.
Saza
Hate to mention this, but can see from google maps that the railway line is not too far away from the area Jasper went missing. Have you contacted the railway people to rule it out? Hope he turns up soon. Looks like a real character.
HelperLost Pals Surrey Heath.LostPALS
Don't give up hope though Kirsten, we have seen lots of dog returned to their owners before, on here and there is no reason that Jasper shouldn't be one of them. x
HelperLost Pals Surrey Heath.LostPALS
Is the garden he went missing from, adjacent to any particular road or pathway? Just wondering how someone
could have got in to take him, if it is secure? Could they have spotted him in the garden, from a road while they were driving past, or is it likely that it was a pedestrian who could have taken him? Might give some idea of what area to concentrate on. I'm sure you have already checked, but as the garden is secure, he couldn't have got himself stuck or squeezed into somewhere within the boundary, could he?
Also, do we know exactly where on Church Hill / Waverley Drive he went missing from as that is quite a large area.
I'll put some posters up at the Maultway/ Red Road/ Upper Chobham Road roundabout on our fence which quite often acts as a giant DogLost billboard. We have hundreds of commuters going past daily who all have to slow down right next to it so it's quite a good spot for posters.
DogLostBeezle
Thank you JulieB. Jasper went missing from the Church Hill/Waverley Drive area. The owner would appriciate any help with getting the message out there as she has to go home tomorrow which must be awful for her.
JulieB
I live in Lightwater and can walk across the MOD heathland adjacent to Red Road - whereabouts in Camberley did he go missing - I will walk my dogs and look for him
kirsten2174
Thank you everyone for all your help, I still have had no information, no sightings or any leads. Jasper seems to have disappeared into thin air. If anyone can put up posters I would be really grateful. He disappeared from my parents house and I need to return home to Nottingham tomorrow to go back to work. My parents are not in a position to put up lots of posters. Any help gratefully received.
KateG
I have put a poster at the St Catherines Road entrance to the MOD woodland, where lots of dog walkers pass every day. Good luck with the search.
kirsten2174
Thanks SJ,
I@ve hand delivered posters to local vets and emailed a version to others in the area- I'm going to follow this up on tues with a phone call to check they've received it. Also been to car boot in farnborough today handing out flyers and I'm going to go and hit the pubs today with posters. I'm so pleased to hear of a good news story that you got Pixie back. It gives me a glimmer of hope. I'll keep up with the posters and harrassement of perfect strangers to give them flyers and ask them to keep a look out. Thanks for putting up the posters, really appreciate it.
SJ
Hi Kirsten.
I'll get some posters to Nottcutts at Bagshot and Petfood Kingdom at Windlesham for you tomorrow (Sunday). Have you already put them up or sent them to all local vets? And posted them at common dog walking areas near you (not just the ones you used - you want as many doggy people as possible to see tham and be talking about him.
I posted fliers for Pixie to vets in quite a wide area, and to dog walkers and groomers too. Have you called the microchip company, police, dog warden and local rescue centres? Also highways agency and network rail. Is the microchip contact info up to date?

Like Jasper it did not make sense to me that Pixie should have vanished without a trace - much too friendly and nosy. And that suggested two possibilities; she had been hit by a car, or had been taken in or taken by somebody. An honest person would take a found dog to the vet or dog warden, so we put posters in all the pubs (grottier the better), also near betting shops (they wouldn't /couldn't display them), and anywhere that less honest people might be. The man we eventually got Pixie back from claimed to have bought her from Langley fair near Slough. I believe it is on every Wednesday. Might be worth a try. Not sure that he was telling the truth. If the dog warden and police are not taking your cencerns that he has been taken seriously, please feel free to point out that I tried telling them that and they weren't interested, but I was right.
kirsten2174
Thank you Gillian, I appreciate you being so vigilant. My fear is that someone has taken him. He is so friendly and really people orientated, so I can see why someone would think they would just keep him, but surely no one with a conscience! To say I'm heartbroken is an understatement.
Gillian
Hi, on Friday I was driving along the chobham road frimley park end. I did look twice because the mini schnauzer had the same colouring as yours but he was walking a long side an older man and I assumed he was with the man. Jan s is correct about people taking them in. A lady knocked on our door recently asking if we'd lost a dog as her neighbour had found a dog and was going to keep it. The lady was concerned because the dog looked well cared for and some owner would be missing him, but the woman was adamant about keep inning him. I pointed the lady to doglost. I'm in farnborough, but we can go to the woods near tomlinscote school to look over there.
Jan S
Sorry I just realised I called poor Jasper Alfie in the first part of my earlier post ! That obviously came from me reading Mutleys comment before, plus my Schnauzer girls have a lovely boy friend Schnauzer called Alfie............... Apologies Jasper, stay safe x
AlisonH
Have emailed advice sheets about lost and stolen dogs.
Jan S
Sorry I don't live in this area so can't offer any physical help. Mini Schnauzers are very popular dogs at the moment so its possible if someone dishonest has found him they may attempt to sell him. Offering a reward might tempt them to contact you and say they'd found him, no decent person would take a reward. Thank goodness he is microchipped. Make sure Vets know. If he does turn up with a 'new owner' who wants to get him chipped, Vet will find existing chip.
Everything crossed for you.
kirsten2174
Thank you for your kind words. Still no news of him, no sightings and no contact from anyone- which I think is really odd. He is a very sociable dog and would not avoid human company. He disappeared from the church hill/waverley drive area. I will try the pet shop Jan- thank you. Good idea.
Jan S
I get food for my Mini's delivered from Natural Instinct in Camberley. They are really helpful doggy people. I'm sure they'd put a poster up in their shop in Admiralty Way and maybe you could leave some smaller ones for customers to take. Hope you get news of Alfie soon. Get posters to any Boot Sales/Summer Fairs in the area as well. Hope Jasper is home safely very soon.
Mutley
Fingers and paws crossed you find Jasper quickly, best wishes from me and Alfie, my Mini.
