From what I understand our dog warden did extremely well. She spoke about Willow, DogLost, microchips and the bait dog situation. She did really well indeed. Way to go, DW. xxx

I am so happy that Willow is doing okay despite some serious injuries and awful trauma. Thank you to Owl and everyone sending healing wishes to Willow. I really think it helped her. Dog Warden said she is an amazing little dog despite having drains and tubes and wounds all over her. Loving thoughts can go a long way. I have been away for a few days but been thinking of Willow all the time. So very glad for her and her family. Lovely to see reunited photo. Thank you, DW. Kisses to Willow xxx

Poor little thing with bites on her but safe and sound at home with you now. It could be somebody put her into the back garden of the lady that found her - maybe lifted her over a fence or something ? I am thinking of you and Willow and sendng special wishes for a speedy recovery from her ordeal. Love Julie x.

On early this morning, fetched my tissues and am already using them...Welcome home Willow your family must be over the moon...lets hope today you are feeling better after your operation yesterday...will check back in later to see any updates...Power to the chip once again xxxx
Maggie
Its no problem at all Kimmybear, so glad i was of some help.

I'm over the moon for them, they worked so hard to find Willow and never gave up on finding her and it paid off, thank god that Willow is chipped.

Willow1's partner went to the PDSA to sign the consent form so they could put her under so they could deal with her wounds. They were hopefully going to do it last night or this morning, Willow was very stressed when the lady brought her in so they gave her a seditive to keep her calm. Hopefully if all gone well Willow might be coming home today :)
I'm sure they will wake up this morning and think its been all a dream BUT guess what willow family, ITS TRUE your furbaby's been found :)

Wishing Willow a speedy recovery, thinking of them all xx

When i hear anything else i will defo let you all know :)

A BIG!! WELCOME HOME WILLOW xxxxxxxxxxx (((((HUGS))))

Willow has been found!!!!! I am overjoyed at this news, but also very upset as sweet Willow is in the Vets with some nasty wounds, but she is being operated on now. Hopefully tomorrow morning we will have good news. She has gone through an awful ordeal, but hopefully, once she gets home with her loving family she will be on the mend. Please pray for Willow and send her healing and love. Thank you Maggie & Star for letting me know and for helping Willow's owners at this stressful time. Okay Willow1. At least this lady is looking after this dog, she's obviously been in the wild for a bit or kept outside to get mange and fleas. It was nice of her to contact you and rescue this dog. Also, sometimes dogs don't seem to remember owners at first because they have been through so much they need time to come round. But if this is not Willow, then we don't need to worry about that. We'll keep looking. x
willow1
the other haif said it was really short tail and he said this dog didnt recognise him at all or his dad... the lady whos got this dog she said that she got off the dog warden as she was going put it down..also this dog she got as a bad case of flease and mange but she as bin taking it to the vets to get it better...oh yeah she was mate i just got a bit confused i understand why now just spoke to the other haif he said colours waas little darker then willow as well but when i see the pics really look the sameLast edited: 2012-09-22 08:41:27 by willow1
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Willow1, tails can be trimmed or cut. Did she recognise your other half at all? If she has been through a lot, it may have been hard for her to register who it was, but YOU she would know. I really think you shoul dgo and see this dog Willow1. Especially now we know the chip may not work. There is a link between Basildon and Kent and dogs do get taken from one to the other by groups of people, so it is possible. What was different about the tail? The reason it states "taken" on her poster is because she was taken by a woman in the street, wasn't she? x
SanBarn
Ok Willow1. At least this dog has been checked out. The search goes on, we won't give up. xx
willow1
my other haif and his dad saw the dog they dont think its her as the tail wasnt the same as willow
SanBarn
Willow1,it wouldn't hurt to go and check this dog out, you just never know, and if a dog has been out or somewhere else then it can look different, photos don't always show the dogs true colours either. xx
willow1
see how much they are like sanbarn

Heard from DW - Willow's chip may not be working, so all vets and rescues please do NOT rely on chip bringing Willow home! We need posters for identification. Willows picture needs to be sent to all vets and rescues and DW's. If anyone can help send this page, or the poster, to any, it will be most appreciated. Thank you. I have changed the poster photo, as the new one is more the correct colour of Willow as she can look like a Westie at first glance and people may not read that she is blond/beige in colour. Worth a try with this picture now. We can always change it back later. x
SanBarn
I've spoken to Willow1 and sadly the found dog is not Willow, similar colouring and markings, but not Willow.xx
SanBarn
Willow1, I'm going to phone you in the morning. xx

Have you considered asking on one of the transport groups on facebook. I would have gladly helped but am in midlands..Last edited: 2012-09-19 22:13:41 by coralvb

Apparently an older or elderly lady was seen with a dog they believe is Willow. It seems she was questioned and said she rescued her. Owner was not present and now we don't know where this lady or dog are. They must be in Basildon area close to Ballards shops if they walked there, so please poster around that area. We need people to call us if they know this lady so we can check whether it is actually Willow. Please call DogLost in confidence as we are trying to assist owner. Thank you.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Vanda has kindly told me that Willow1's friend believes she saw Willow at Ballards shops, Basildon. Please poster and watch out for her. Thank you. x

Willow1, I was there last night, but I got lost (don't have SatNav). I was going to pop through your door, but in the end I had to leave to get home as I don't live near you but was out that way. They will now be in the post. I will get you some more as soon as I can, but I want to platers the place with them - all Basildon shopping areas and parks and all the roads leading from the school. Anywhere you can stick them. Good luck. x

Well done, Willow1. Thanks Spangles, maybe we'll leave her as she is. This woman could be local, so let's find out who she is. Poster, poster, poster so everyone knows, spread the word far and wide. Well done. x
willow1
am going ask in town today about cctv and more posters up today...willow main colour is like a blonde tan but on her chip form says she is a tri colour ...i have found a dog on here called who she looks like as all the colour are the same his number 34368 but only thing def is willow as bit white on her too and i have bin phone all the kennels every 2 days but they say wow sorry we havent got any in like kind of dogLast edited: 2012-08-10 09:07:11 by willow1
Spangles
Kimmybear, What is her main colour, if white, yes Westie Cross, or if tan I'd say large yorkshire terrier cross. Willow1 have you tried any of the local shops to see if they have CCTV, quite sometime ago for checking, but maybe Basildon Town Centre has it and would have kept it longer. Also check the rescue centres daily, you never know and a chip can be missed. Try Acres Way in Thundersley, make them all aware, she may have been taken out of the area so check websites and look for dogs needing a home, you have Wallace Kennels, Acres Way, then the in kent South East Dog Rescue (SEDR) Wallace and SEDR have Facebook pages and regulary update dogs needing a home, I know Wallace are brilliant at checking dogs out. Just be aware that if a dog is not claimed in 7 days they can be rehomed so it may be worth travelling around a few with her picture and asking if any like her have been rehomed. Hopefully her chip will bring her home but its worth a try just in case it hasn't been picked up when scanned. You also have the Olympic Mountain Bikes at Hadleigh this weekend, they are using the Tractor Plant in Cranes Farm Road as the Park and Ride, try and get some posters down there.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
I'm wondering if we should change Willow's description to Westie? He looks quite like a Westie and people might recognise that description easier. What does anyone think out there? Or a Westie cross?
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Right, I think the pair of you need to keep postering all around where you live and all around the town. If this woman picked Willow up, she could be fairly local, so make Willow too hot to handle. Cherie's mum needs to do the same thing. Both of you poster like mad. Willow1 how are you doing with the posters? Have you got many? Do you need some? I know its hard but you really do need to keep postering - 100's of them, like Billy's owner has been doing. The first ones may need redoing by now, what with the rain and hot sun. Do some more this weekend. And, never give up hope. One day, you may get that call but we need more posters out there, so they know who to call. Come on Willow, time to get you home, precious. x
willow1
i think CHERRIE the Terrier Yorkshire whos on here
went missing day after willow so could be link as the lady whos lost her only living about 20 mins away from me
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Willow1 and helpers, does anyone know of someone who had lost their dog before Willow disappeared? It is quite possible that the woman who was seen taking Willow may have lost her dog and decided to keep her. This has happened before, similar scenario was with Jesse (virgin van man). Might be worth asking around?
willow1
i no just hard not knowing that she is ok and safe

SuzeeBee, thank you so much! Wow! Willow1, this is fab. I am a little confused as to why a Westie is being refrerred to as a Yorkie? We know little Cherrie is, but Terriers would have been better used there. Nevermind, it is a great picture and article. Well done Willow1. So we know she was taken and the only thing we can is keep postering and getting word out and making her too hot to handle. One day something will happen, she will escape or they will let her go and she will be found and scanned and get home. That is my hope and it does often happen. Keep hope in your heart and we will do so in ours, as always. Someone knows something. Where are you Willow? xxx

What do you mean Willow1 when you said in your last comment, why's that? Why did they say that in the paper you mean? Because sometimes people see things or know who has got your dog and the paper pleads for them to come forward. Is that what you meant? x

DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Oh Willow1. Okay, two things. 1) They may not have her and just trying to get money and that could be why they didn't ring back 2) If they do have her, they will probably call again, if they know money is involved. I suggest you say you will pay for her, but you have to see her first. That way you will know if they really do have her. Then we can figure it out from there. If they do have her, you let us and the police know. I'm struggling a little to completely understand who called and whether you called police? Sorry. Tell you what, if Jo phones you tonight, tell her exactly how it happened. She can tell you what to do. Well done though, as you got through that. x

Its the 'Evening Echo' Riverlady, a Newsquest publication I believe, they have different editions depending on if Southend/Basildon.

I will give Willow's owner a call tonight as info given may mean she's had a call, will update later/in the morning.
DogLostRiverlady
Cannot find Basildon Echo on twitter....
DogLostRiverlady
Ive tweeted to a few Basildon folk......will look for Basildon Echo. Have been tweeting a few extra times as its very busy in Essex at mo.

Laura of the Echo contacted me via Jayne1 last week, they are doing an article. I have contacted her for an update, as I know she was going to speak to owners. I thought Willow was already going in but I advised Laura further. Laura also has a number of dogs put forward, but obviously it is down to owners whether they want to be included. I believe it is the Basildon Echo, Riverlady, but Laura simply said Echo and not which area. However, as these are going from Basildon way, I suspect this is correct. Thank you. x
DogLostRiverlady
Which Echo is it? Its all a bit busy because of the shooting in Essex so right now they are chasing the gunman.

Willow 1, let us know if you don't get any joy from the Echo and we'll give them a call. (Although they should be be much more sympathetic to you !)
willow1
thanks

Keep going. Make her too hot to handle! See if you can get some black and white photocopies as they last a while even in rain with no covering. They still get word out just as good as colour and last much longer. Just need to get them out there. You are doing well! Come on Willow, where are you sweetie? x
willow1
thanks ladys and guys ... still no signs of willow giving out more posters on willow today ..hoping there will be news soon

Well done Willow1, keep those posters going up. I have heard from the Echo also, I believe they will be doing an article. Fingers crossed it brings this little one home, along with all the posters. Sharing on facebook again and asking for twitter too. x

DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Absolutely well done! Make sure you get those posters as close as possible to any traveller sites. Visit ant boot sales and fairs and give out little posters, like leaflets. You really need to keep getting the word out. Someone knows where she is!
willow1

Oh and let us know immediately she is in the paper! x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Well done Willow1. You need to copy those posters and place them around travellers sites, don't go alone and stay outside, but you need them to know you are looking for her. Poster in the pubs and cafes and if you have any boxing clubs around there make sure they have posters. Please do this. If you get any weird calls, play along and remember my email and if you should be asked for money to get your dog back, do your best to keep them interested, as your dog is the most important thing in all this. But, tell police and us - we can help you if this happens. But keep the posters going up all over the place! x
willow1

Confirmed with owner that the dogwarden has trold her many terriers...all female have been taken from the area recently.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Okay, thank you Willow!. I will ask someone to give you a call, as we need to understand exactly what has happened here. Are these terriers coming back home at all? If not, can you pass word round to get them to put their dogs on here, as it will establish who and what we are dealing with. I know they may not, or some may already be on here - but we are getting a lot home from your way. Don't give up! Make her so famous she becomes too hot to handle! Poster everywhere! x
willow1

DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Did you phone the council? What did they say? Did you speak to the road people? It takes a few days or even week sometimes to get a dog home, but they can get home! How many posters have you put up and where? Helpers may be able to poster other places for you if you can tell us. x
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Willow1, you need to keep going. Keep putting posters up - everywhere! You can never have too many. You need to poster everywhere she was lost and then outwards a couple of miles at least! How did she go missing? What happened? Give posters to all the school children. You have to work at it and we will help you. x
willow1
yeah i did thanks ...i just worryed if i dont get her back now
