Any update on this?

My sister drove around Longdon on Friday afternoon, and I went after work and drove around for an hour, stopping and shouting shaling treat bags at every pen field/woodland area. I tried shouting Cyril too. I also spoke to the local pubs and have left posters with them to put up behind the bar. I drove around on Saturday and my sister cycled, but no signs at all. I have put posters up down the lanes and also on a few car parks popular with dog walkers. Word is apparently spreading around the area. Longdon is bordered by Cannock Chase and I fear that he/she may have headed that way, which is at least away from the roads but it's fairly impossible to search such a large area. I have also spoken to the local dog warden who is on the look out. Fingers crossed for a happy ending. He/she has appeared quite happy doing their own thing and didn't appear thin which is promising. I shall keep looking.

Thank you for checking Tracy. Cyril could have been taken in by someone who then put a collar on him. We will never know unless the dog is caught and scanned for a chip.

I have just noticed the link to Buzz. The dog that has been sighted appears to be fairly old, so very unlikely to be Buzz. I wish I could help more.

I've shown the photo to my Mum, she said it looks like Cyril in the face but it's difficult to tell, don't want to raise the hopes of his owners. It says Cyril isn't tagged but this dog has a collar and tag on. I will keep looking for him/her

It was my Mum who saw this dog yesterday (19.04.2012) at around 10:00am at the canal bridge on Tuppenhurst Lane, Handsacre. He/she looked oldish and was dirty and wet. Seemed very calm but when approached ran onto the bridge and down the lane towards posh paws cattery. Nearby farm has been informed and will keep an eye out. Information also posted on facebook and local groups. I drove around last night in the area but saw no signs. A lady called Sarah Hollinshead thinks she also sighted the dog this morning on High Street/Stockings Lane in Upper Longdon. Which would make sense as Tuppenhurst Lane leads to Upper Longdon. He was running/trotting down the lane infront of her car. She stopped but he dissapeared under the hedgerow. Sarah and her husband searched for him/her for around 30mins but he had completely disapeared. She will inform local village residents.Last edited: 2012-04-20 12:14:42 by Tracy Cunningham
