This is dreadful news. Owners, I don't know why such terrible things happen; I have searched so hard for answers myself. The only thing I do know is that precious Oskar has earnt his wings. He will wait whilst you continue to earn yours and then you will be together again and this time you will never, ever part. I promise you! God bless you and Oskar - safe in God's arms watching over you. Albeit not as we all wished, but he IS found. He can rest in peace knowing you have found him. He is always with you and always loved. xxx

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Don't forget, some people aren't 'up' on their dog breeds and it may have been a side view which makes it harder to tell what they are (unless the collar info rules it out). I have a pretty average-looking golden retriever (don't tell him I said that!) and people still say to me 'so, what sort of dog is he?' One person asked if he was an English setter...LOL. Good luck with it today, Sue. I check on Oskar's page every day x
Sue
Does not sound like Oskar ( would love if it was ) going over that way now 9am to put up posters by way Oskar has been in Runcorn World and Weekly News follow up today

Post on DogLost FB page 01/05/12 from Polo 'Staffy' Jackson:

'Just spotted at 1.30pm on MANOR PARK RUNCORN - collie type dog - brown, long haired, wearing brown leather collar with silver tag, we tried to approach but he hurried off, looked in good condition. On stuart road/warrington road roundabout disappeared into the offices.'

This isn't far from Wigg Island where Oskar went missing. They have liked the dog to Ben the poor old fella missing in Liverpool. Ben and Oskar do look alike so it sounds very possible that it could be Oskar. Is anyone out looking for him? I'm more than happy to drive over and help with a search if anyone could come with me?

Thanks Floydy for posting on Oskar's page, great if you could Team up in your search. If there are any papers in the area see if they will put something in for Oskar and Floyd. I alerted Oskar's owner to your post. x
Floydy
Hi - very sorry to hear that Oskar is missing. Not sure of the circumstances of his disappearance but there are similarities with the loss of my dog floyd on 13th march on Wigg island - exactly 5 weeks before the loss of your dog. He was running off lead in the woods between the big field and the road to the landfill. It was near the nature trail - quite close to the car park. My first thought is that he may have gone in the canal, but that he may have been taken by someone on the road to the landfill. If u want to get in touch my mobile number is 07714 261425.

Spoken to owner. Oskar went missing while on a walk, they were going back to the car and he ran off possibly after a rabbit. Family have been doing a great job in their search and contacted the right people. Given advice of some things to do and will start sharing on facebook. SCENTING INSTRUCTIONS emailed. Details and photo updated to show up on his DL poster. x
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
If Oskar is picked up in the area he has gone missing he would be taken to Halewood RSPCA 0151 486 1706 or possibly Cheshire Dog's Home which covers some of the WA postcodes. This was advised to helper who posted the details last night on facebook. x
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Thanks everyone for posting on his page. :)

His details were posted on DogLost NW facebook page last night and I did advise the poster to ask for him to be registered on DL, great he is now on here. I'll contact family a.s.a.p. and send and info/advice email with which includes contact numbers for places to check in the area.

If picked up the sighted could be taken to Leigh Cats & Dogs Home which is not far from where the dog was sighted. It is reported to be wearing a brown collar. This dog has also been alerted to family of missing SIMBA Labrador from the L36 area. Fingers crossed it is one of them. x
