I am so thrilled that Megan has been found safe and well also that her owners have sent an email giving the details of her capture,it is so helpful to others. Doglost has yet again "come up trumps" This seems almost a textbook case of scenting. Well done all. Keep safe Megan lots of love from Molly & Henry Beagles.

Lovely email from Megan's owner: Dear Doglost
Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your help with the search for Megan. We had lots of people registered with Doglost who were out looking for her.
Most important of all was your email instructions for laying a scent trail. As you had suggested, the two sightings and the point where she was lost, made an exact triangle. We made up 10 litres of scent from the contents of our vacuum cleaner, topped up with wee, and my husband went up to the downs at first light yesterday and laid the scent trail to a safe feeding point, as per your instructions. We subsequently found her at 3.00pm yesterday, walking the scent trail. Thankfully she was fit and well and seems none the worst for her 48 hours outside. The information on triangles and dog movements, together with the scenting instructions are absolutely invaluable and the quicker this is done, the better the chance of keeping the dog in the same locality and then recovering them.

Really pleased to see that Megan has been found. She disappeared so close to where Jess was found, and so soon after Jess was found, it made me sick to the stomach all over again. Only now, after Jess, can I so understand the anguish felt when people's dogs go missing like this! I have always printed off posters for local missing dogs, but in future i will make more of an effort to put them up far and wide and asap! Hugs to Megan x

So relieved you have got Megan back - met with afternoon you lost her.I walked Adsdean to Kingsley this afternoon but assume she was reunited before then.

email from owner: 2 sightings of Megan today (Tues 17th), one at Adsdean Farm not far from where she was lost and the other a little further south in Downs Road at the back of Funtington. In both cases Megan ran away from the kind folk who found her - she's scared stiff and is such a nervous worried girl. We're checking out barns and places she might have taken refuge overnight and will have more helpers in the daylight tomorrow. Fingers firmly crossed as she's tiny and hasn't eaten since Monday morning.

Megan has been spotted at Downs rd Funtingdon at 1:30. Owners are searching that area now.
