So very sorry for your loss of Milo. You cant be too careful these days with our busy road. Milo is back to full health and watching over you whilst playing at the bridge. Night, night sleep tight little one until you meet your family again one day. Milo has not gone from you forever, and he is not far away. Sending healing thoughts to your family and loads of comforting hugs from me. RIP Milo. God Bless

I'm so sorry you didn't make it home little one. I'm also so sorry that your family had such a difficult time finding out about what had happened to you. You know you were cherished - they have closure but I'm sorry they've been put through this. Sleep tight little boy. xxx

Run free at the Bridge Milo and sweet dreams sweetheart. xxx

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I can confirm that Mili has been found. Unfortunately he had severe injuries in that accident and
Due to the circumstances he had been put to sleep.
It is a great loss for us. Yet still would like to thank everyone involved finding him, thanks for all the help and effort that had been put into this I really appreciate it.
Regards
Peter

I think we have found Milo. Spoke to the RSPCA and a young, tri coloured JRT was involved in an accident on Trinity Way on the 12th. He has sustained some injuries to his back legs and is currently at the Greater Manchester Animal Hospital in Eccles.

I have spoken to Milo's owner and he was more or less aware that something had happened but the RSPCA wouldn't give him the details of where is is. I have passed the Incident number and phone number on to him.

Apparently Milo is chipped but to the previous owner. His current owner wasn't aware until this happened but it means the RSPCA have been trying to contact the wrong people. Owner is going to contact the Animal Hospital tomorrow.

What amazes me is that I have contacted the police, Salford Dog Warden, Animal Wardens and none of them had been made aware of this incident. Poor Milo has been sat there since Sunday while everyone is looking for him :(

Unfortunately Maggie has no internet access at the moment. I rang the police and they do not have any reports of an RTA in that area on that day, not the Animal Wardens or Salford Dog Wardens. Will check with PetMedics and the RSPCA (doubtful) and see if I can find anything.Last edited: 2012-02-15 15:39:22 by Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester

Maggie, Dogs in Salford have posted Milo's photograph and this is a comment on there from 7 hours ago:

Joanne Rebecca Waite There was a jackrussell hit by a car on sunday on chapel st nr blackfriars. It looked like it was going to be okay the driver stopped for it. Contact either the police or rspca as both came to see it. Good luck. Hope this little dog finds its owners. .Pet medics probably too. XxX
