Update about Tye. Setled back home and he seems to have forgotten about his ordeal completely. Owner does not have a computer but has asked me to thank everyone who got involved and spent many hours looking, putting up posters etc. Thank you all so much.

Sitter comtacted me to say Tye is fine and happy to be home with owners. None the worse for his adventure - thank goodness. Vet said it didn't seem like he had been out in the cold, so were he was remains a mystery, but either way posters made him too hot handle or got him sighted. Well done helpers. You responded fantastically to help this poor boy. Thank you. x

As a setter owner myself I am thrilled to see this lovely boy is back with his family :) x

Delighted this boy has been found safe xx

So glad he's back! I had a walk around the area with my dog this morning/lunchtime, around the park and rough ground between the park and woods and other land about and under the A10 further up... It looks like he was reported found while I was out looking! So pleased he was home before the weather turned really nasty. Saw lots of posters up :-))

so pleased to see that TYE is found, I hope that he is ok and the sitters will pop on and update us later - POSTERS are the key for sightings and info - Thanks to everyone who put them up. I have a soft spot for setters as my uncle and his family have kept them for years

I heard from dog sitter earlier saying that Tye has been found and is in the vets. We don't know if he has been injured or just going for a check up, but hopefully we'll find out later. She also said he was found due to a poster - so well done to you lovely people putting out these posters! YOU did it! YOU! Well done and thank you on behalf of Tye and his family. Will update further as we hear.x

Oh that is such good news!! What a relief for his owners ..would have been awful for him to be out in the nasty weather we are about to have. Tye must have known his owners were back .. bet he gets loads of tlc! Lucky boy!

Juat had a phone call from the nurse working at my surgery today to say he has been found, no details on where found but he is home safe with his owners. After seeing my other half this morning they called into all the local vets and are now ringing round everyone to say thanks. That is one VERY lucky dog.

We have given a poster to local shop in Hertford Heath and put posters up in Elbow Lane and have given a poster to some cyclist who were going through the woods. A relative is going to put a poster up in the Conference Centre in Lord Street and we have informed most people we came across whilst out walking our dog.

My other half bumped into Tye's owners this morning, they are walking the area looking for him. Tye has not been walked in these woods before so the poor lad would have no idea where he was. Other half is still out there with our dogs looking around as he knows these woods very well. I have arranged for a poster to go up the the vet surgery that I work at and am going to take one into the other 2 local vets now.Last edited: 2012-02-04 08:49:05 by millgreen

Hi we live very close and will put posters up in the village and the woods nearby we will also let local dog walkers know to keep an eye out. Good luck

Not close enough to help, but really hoping that Tye can be found quickly, especially with this weather coming in. Come on old boy .. find your way home or somewhere safe. Good luck to Fabapocalypse ...

Thank you Fabapocalypse. We don't know much more at the moment as poor owners are coming back home tonight. x

This is right on my patch... I will try and come search at the weekend. Is Tye from the area? An irish setter lives very close to these woods, maybe its owners would remember seeing Tye (unless of course that IS Tye!). He could wend his way through to the local town park also so it might be worth putting posters there.

We have a situation here - owners are on holiday and not back till tonight! Tye went missing whilst out with dog sitter and she got someone else to put this on site. There are no photos, so will try and find a lookalike for poster. However, dog sitter has contacted dog warden and put a poster up where he went missing. Advised to put lots of posters up (even just hand written) and leave something that smells of him or owner in the area he was lost in. Once I get a lookalike picture we need urgency on this as first few days are crucial to getting this baby back home. All helpers needed on board please. Thank you. Owners will get real photo as soon as possible went home.
