Alfie looks very comfortable with his family. Perhaps this is where he is meant to be:-)xxxxxx

Beautiful Reunited picture of Alfie and his very happy family - apparantly the first thing Alfie did when he got home was to dig his giant bone up from the garden :-)

Yes Alfie had been rehomed but unfortunately or fortunately the new owner could no longer keep him so he went back to the rescue centre and this is when Aflie's owners were contacted
Angel
I'm a little confused - easily done these days! Had Alfie been re homed and the new family agreed to hand him back?

Message from a very happy owner....
Alfie is coming home today after almost 4 months missing, so I would like to thank everyone who have helped and supported me in getting Alfie back home to his rightful family, a special massive thank you to Voodooloopy Lou Miller who has been amazing, thank you so much. I still cannot believe he is coming home, my Son is now on his way to collect him, quite an emotional day for us all xxxx

Adding to this the owner's are very, very grateful to the kennels who helped to reunite Alfie x
Michelle
The microchip was never registered so the owners could not be traced therefore the chip company is not at fault and neither are the rescue kennels where Alfie was taken. There was no id on Alfies collar either. The owner never reported Alfie as missing to the local authorities (Police or Council)had they done so they would have been informed where the rescue kennels were and advised to contact them. I can only say it is vital that all info is kept up to date either microchip or by a tag on collars and then this problem can avoided in the future. All rescues hope that dogs brought to them as strays are reunited with their righful owners and not left in kennels sometimes for months on end waiting for new homes :(

As i was driving along the A141 today around 5,15 there was 2 young men (late teens/early twenties) walking a dog that looks a close match to Alfie, cos as soon as i saw it i seemed to of recognised it but only just got online to check his pic. They were walking along the grass verge between Eastwood End junction and King Street junction, they were walking headon to me as i was driving from Chatteris towards March but they had gone when i went back that way 10mins later..sorry cant be more informative but it was busyLast edited: 2012-03-29 20:59:20 by Madmutz Dog Walking

I read this last night and it made me so angry. Surely Petlog are in breach of their own terms and conditions and therefore any rehoming of the dog would have been unlawful. Also i imagine Petlog should make every reasonable effort to contact the owner before releasing a dog for rehoming including sending a letter to the owners address, this is what they get the fee for when the dog is initially chipped. Perhaps a solicitors letter to this effect may prompt them to rethink their stance as i'm sure they wouldn't want to go to any expense for legal fees. This could also apply to kennels/rescue who rehomed the dog as they are in fact handling stolen goods. Could the police not be persuaded to intervene on any of the above technicalities. The threat of legal action may be enough to make them release the information or at least contact the new owner to give them an opportunity to do the right thing. Just a few thoughts...

I'm a friend of Linda via Facebook and do alot of rescues work! I've been in touch with a few rescue friends and they have all said that pet log won't contact owner, they give the details to the founder for them to contact owner! This to me is breaking data protection but may be the case! I'm doin everything I can my end to help find Alfie! X Lou @ bullies In need. X

Oh no, this is awful. Why can't people get things right!!!
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Owner rang petlog who told him the dog was found in December scanned and they were rung....they gave owner the number and he has been told the dog is rehomed and he wont get it back...they did not ring him at the time to let him know the dog had been found...details were up to date and dog warden and police were informed at the time.

"Alfie is black, tan and white, he is 17months old, microchipped and has been castrated,
He got out from the back garden on 10th Dec 2011, and hasn't been seen since, my little Grandson keeps asking every day, '' when is Alfie coming home?''
Someone somewhere must know of his where abouts, please make a 4 year old very happy, and help keep your eyes peeled for him. He went missing from March Cambridgeshire.
Thank you all for your time xx "
