- Thanks Mollychops.
I have contacted Greyhounds in Need about her too. Hopefully we can at least find out who she was. She was a truly stunning dog and beautiful to the end, like most Greys. From what I've managed to find her tattoos appear to mean she was born only in 2009, making her at most 3 year old, her teeth were in great condition too so this may be right.....I know so may of the Irish dogs are shipped out to Spain, so sad =( - 2012-01-15 19:14 Mollychops

- Some ex racers do make it back here from Spain via Greyhounds in need. We have had lots brought back to the UK . They are auctioned by the Irish for next to nothing when their useful lives are finished here and they go to Spain to be raced literally to death. i Will contact Gin tomorrow

- Is it usual for the admin to change where the dog was found to rainbow bridge if deceased?? This dog was found in the North East and not in 'heaven', it made me finding my post difficult and I'd imagine a searcher would do the same since she no longer shows up in the north east search.....which is what I would do if I was looking here for my dog! :-/

- If she has Spanish links she may be a Galgo. Greyhounds In Need rehome them here and may know of a missing one.

- sorry. I didnt realize there was a word limit and it has cut off my description......
Her chip appears to be Spanish and we are tracking avenues in regards to her chip and tattoo but so far no success with either any data bases or tattoo register. We are awaiting to here who manufactured the chip and which vets this may have been used in.
She may have been rehoused back to the UK after a racing career in Spain? Greyhounds are generally only chipped if in pet homes and after retiring from racing. We would really like to hope someone is searching for her as she was in excellent physical condition otherwise, although she was not wearing any collar or form of identification. The finder is posting in the area she was found in local shops etc and the warden informed.
We can hold her body for a week.
